The Cornerian Complex

Drake drew the hammer back on his revolver. In it's chambers sat six .44 rounds, ready to blow a decent hole in anyone idiotic enough to stand in front of him. Drake raised the weapon, scanning the rooftops between his holo-sights. The dim lighting in the store made it difficult to see outside. Drake noted to hide in a darker place next time. No movement yet.

Just then a Barrel fell from said roof-top and rolled off to one side and gently hitting a wall-it's thud echoing due to the lack of matter in the vacinity.

The ground level footsteps grew closer-thier softness not letting up to anything else (in other words, the footsteps are still the same sound, but gettign closer)

(Hey guys! Mind if I stick around?)

Meanwhile, Fawkes was nearby, pencil and paper in hand, and not really looking where he was going. Wow, this place is ginormous! It took me forever to map out even a part of this complex! he thought. Three huge arcades, a laser tag zone, two movie theaters and a bolwing alley next to it, even a carousel and a mini ferris wheel! Not to mention the candy shop... Fawkes licked a bit of chocolate stuck to his beak.

He tripped on something in front of him, but managed to get his balance. "Whoa!" Finally, Fawkes looked up and around him. The whole area around him was run down, and there wasn't a person in sight. This doesn't feel like a safe place, Fawkes thought, as his neck feathers started sticking up.

(sure, go ahead  )Just then, a figure upon the roof top of one the buildings looked down at Fawkes-without making a sound-and stared for a moment.

Yeah, there is definitely something not safe about this place... Fawkes shivered and looked around himself warily, but he forgot to look up...

That's when the figure dashed away from sight and continued onto it's destination that's when an addtional sound could be heard-the sound of soft footsteps on ground floor....

Fawkes picked his head up. There must be somewhere nearby. He decided to follow the sound of someone's footsteps. He quickly started to climb the nearest building, half jumping from ledge to ledge, and half gliding.

That's when the footsteps ceased for a moment and then quickend-only to fall silent completely; whomever it was. realized he was being followed...(you will find out who the two "shadows" or figures are soon)

(wait, new characters?! I thought I was following Stacker lol.)

Fawkes finally reached the rooftop, and took a breather. That's when he realized the footsteps had stopped, and there was nothing in sight. Yet, he still felt apprehensive. "Ho boy, this isn't looking too good..." he murmered under his breath.

Drake glimpsed a figure on the rooftop. He lined up his sights and fired a two-round burst. By then the figure had disappeared. Drake snapped out the chamber and refilled it with two fresh, shiny bullets. Drake stood up, still glaring down the sights of his weapon. He dashed out of the store and sprinted across the street into an alleyway, dropping the gun but keeping his arm straight and shoulders up, ready to snap and fire at any time. He slammed against the old graffiti covered brick, scanning the street and rooftops.

The figure upon the rooftops showed itsself oncem ore and trailed after the wolf.

While Drake was slammed upon the graffti wall, he failed to hear the odd heavy breathing coming down his neck from behind....

(wow been awhile since i've been here lol)

Mark rubbed his temples as he received the message from CDFC. He walked into the complex and looked around. He smiled at the thought of a break, but also would miss his work. He sat down at the next table and watched.

Drake had that strange tingling in his spine, that strange sixth sense feeling when someone is near.

Drake spun around and unloaded all the chambers of his revolver into the darkness.

Mark's ears perked as he heard distant gunfire. He ran down to the old parts of the complex, never seeing this part before. He was kinda hurt by it, but he continued to follow, until he could see a figure in the distance, it was odd that there was gunfire here in the complex, mainly for weapons not being allowed, but as an agent, he carried his, but never would put it to use. He came close to where the others were, and listened waiting to see what would happen, or hear movement

The said figure that was supposedly breathing down the wolf's neck evaded the shots and did a Hook Kick into Drake's right ribcage-attempting to knock the wind out of the freelancer.

"very nice, boys" Said a rather young looking Balsa "Perhaps you could have shot off an insult at each other before your, oh so cinematic fight scene" SHe sat up on the bench, a wide smirk gracing her normally insain face. "come on then, more violence."

Linda was starting to get bored just sitting around the food court, she asked Michael "So what do you want to do boss?"

"Well, first I want to go the restroom, then maybe we can go catch a movie or something... watch my shake for a minute" Michael said back to her. He then made his way over to the restroom.

Linda watched him walk in, and then took a sip from his milkshake "He'll never know" she said slyly.

Drake dropped his gun, winded but not done. It clattered to the ground. He reached for the knife he kept in his boot, similarly carbon fiber. (Drake tends to keep armed.) He was just about to lunge at his foe when a voice spoke from behind him. His opponent was distracted, and Drake took the advantage to grab him and press the knife to his throat, all the while keeping a view on the speaker.

"Who the hell are you, and who the hell are you?!"

The assailent grabbed the wrist of the knife hand and twisted it so the knife would drop, and forced Drake to he ground. The assailent seemed to examine the knife... and took a knee to look at his victim a little closer.

There was still heavy breathing and dispite the lck of light, the assailent' shadow looked familiar...it almost looked like a Fox in camo fatigues....

Drake's hands were pinned at his sides, but close enough that he could reach a .44 round. The gun sat inches in front of him.

(Man, I don't want to shoot you, I just want to know who the hell you are. Besides...wait...does mall security come out this far?)

(oh hhohoho its not mall security..)

The Fox noticed Drake's attention towards the pistol next to them, and said pistol was kicked away.

-near by, the figure that had been stalking the freelancer from the roof tops hopped down and walked slowly towards them-

There was a small raspy inhilation of air and then the figure spoke as the Vulpine silohette leaned in,"Whats...the matter....Scareddd.....Son?", the familiar voice inquired.

Just then a motion sensor door lamp flickered on (due to sensing the Fox's movement) and it reviel the voices' owner to be none other than Rex Quaritch! Only something was wrong....he had a near insane smile on his Fox-like features...and his eyes looked a little odd...

Mark heard the fighting, and ran towards the situation. His sidearm holstered to his side he saw the fight unfolding and moved closer.

"Once I get my gun back I will take my gun and shove it up your ass so far that the barrel will come out your mouth." Drake said. "I don't know you all that well and that makes you entirely expendable. And you..." Gesturing to his attacker, "I will kill you, then mail your pelt in a cardboard box to your family FIRST CLASS." Drake glanced over to the bench where a man sat. "Would you help me, perhaps? I seem to be in a bit of a sticky situation."

Then Drake noticed Rex's eyes. Something behind them had...snapped. Some connection had been lost. Rex's voice was high and excited. Only then did Drake realize how deep in trouble he was.

(your attacker is Rex.)

Rex started to bring the knife down for Drake's neck-chuckling as he did so.

To Rex, the wolf was putting up a smsll struggle, but it wouldn't help Drake..bnot for long. (not to worry, he wont kill you-this was the insane part of Rex i was talking about)

Mark saw the knife that seemed to be put towards Drake. Though he never knew him, Mark's agent training kicked in as he drew his weapon. Towards the Fox, and the one he pinned. "Freeze!!" He demanded "Put the weapon down...." He stated
