"Ah. you made it early i see. as i said, i will keep my end of the bargain." Spirit said as she sat down. she then produced pictures into Kay's mind through telepathy while she spoke. the pictures of the beatings, the starvation, the illness, even the shootings

"as i said, i am immortal so the horrors of this facility i know very well. when the facility first started, they had taken over 200 minors. we had serial numbers, facility clothing, and Dog cages, yes Dog cages, about the size of a Great Dane's cage, nothing more, nothing less. What they were planning with these minors, thanks to Star for alerting us, they were planning to wipe out the human and anthro race that could not withstand what these kids were created to do. The children were brutally beaten, some starved, some drugged multiple times. we had our drills, training simulations, exercises, and obstacle courses. and if you were un-able to complete them, you were either beaten and forced to continue.....or you were shot in front of the whole facility, as a warning to the other kids. Now i know you would think about running, but running was not an option. If caught running, you would lose your life on the spot. over 30 kids at once tried to escape, and none, and i mean NONE, of them succeeded. their weaponry, technology, everything was more advanced then what we have out here. they didn't discriminate either. they took humans, anthros, males, and females alike. The worst part of this facility........was being considered useless. you might think they would let us go. Indari, it was worse than you think, once you are there, you either lose your memory and be shipped out, not being able to remember a single thing, even your own name, or......they lined you up, then they would shoot you in cold blooded murder, disposing of the body and not leaving a trace. you can't trust anyone......sometimes not even yourself." she said, stopping the images within his mind.

"Those are the horrors of the facility.........once you are in, you most likely wont come out alive" she added, a tear escaping her. She wiped it from her face, then showed him the multiple scars on her legs, arms, stomach, and back.

"these.......these were from multiple procedures they gave me. they mess with your DNA, organs, physical and mental structure.........they mess with anything they can. this was for their love of science Indari. Now, Star was created, well SUPPOSED to be created, to lead the batch of kids. They had accidentally made a mistake, making her a kind hearted soul instead of a cold blooded murderer. She got the worst of the punishment, when trying to defend us, she wouldn't let us die. Even when she could barely stand, or even speak for that matter, she wouldn't let them win, she didn't give up that easily. So after we escaped, they decided they wanted their experiment back. when they would have her, they would try to make her into a viscous marauder she should have been, and if that failed, they would easily dispose of her. What im saying is, if she gets kidnapped by these facility men, you most likely won't ever see her again, or the Star you would have once knew would be gone. She wouldn't remember you, her child, she would only think of destroying the un-perfect populous of the world. you would have to be forced to kill her if that happens, otherwise she will stop at nothing to kill you. anyone she sees as un-perfect, is bound to be killed. Just like you once were, only.........you couldn't change her, even if you put the images of what you once did, or did what she did with you, she still would stay the cold hearted killer they would make her into, this is only if they successfully capture and make her into that " she said

Kay nodded. "Be that as it may," he said, "She is not going back." Even as he said this, he heard it again; the faint, cybernetic voices, talking in unison.

"Destination reached... Disengaging transwarp drive... engaging cloaking device... scanning grid 635 for unknown entity... located. Cornerian Supercomplex, northern hemisphere. Preparing for transport... accessing verbal communication frequency..."

It was then that these cyborg voices made themselves clear for all to hear. "We are the Borg," they said, "Existence as you know it is over. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile."

A severe chill shot up Kay's spine, which compelled him to draw his El-Aurian Disruptor and arm it. Just in time, as two cyborg drones appeared behind Spirit. "Spirit, get down!" Kay shouted as the disruptor fired. Both drones were hit in the chest and died instantly. Two more appeared, and both were shot. No more appeared after that, and Kay powered down his disruptor and holstered it, materializing from his gauntlets an MP340A2 Dual-Purpose Assault Rifle. He loaded a magazine into the receiver, then approached one of the cyborg corpses, weapon ready as if Kay expected it to reanimate.

"I f**king knew it," he grumbled. "The Borg."

Spirit got down as she saw him hit them with ease. She then looked at Kay

"the what?" she said in surprise. Star stood near Kay, not moving away from him

"you know these guys?" Star asked, looking at the lifeless shells of the Borg

"They're called the Borg Collective," Kay affirmed, "Cybernetic conquerors from the Delta Quadrant. They seek to achieve perfection by ravaging other cultures across the galaxy. But why are they..." Kay paused. Something about this whole ordeal seemed... familiar. Like he'd been through it before. He shook it off and looked to Spirit. "Spirit... has anyone ever disappeared from the facility, like there one second, and gone the next? Chances are, if the Borg managed to assimilate someone from that facility, they know of you and Star." He looked to Star. "Ever fire an assault rifle before?" He materialized an X20 Battle Rifle and handed it to Star. "Borg drones can adapt to energy weapons like my disruptor, making them useless - but they are always vulnerable to ballistic weapons, like bullets." He materialized an X25 Battle Rifle for Spirit. "Chances are, if they're here, they're not stopping to do some shopping."

(I'll post pics of the weapons later.)

"unfortunately, several went missing" Spirit commented, holding the assault rifle

"so ravaging people of other worlds accomplishes..........what?" Spirit added, confused.

(The weapon pics are up in the Dragon's Lair)

"Believe me," Kay said, "It accomplishes nothing; but the Borg believe it to bring them one step closer to perfection - an impossible goal, but one they try to reach relentlessly." Kay cocked his weapon with a metallic click-click. "We need to get to the closest subspace transmitter - from there, I can call in the cavalry. Once we call them, we'll need to hold the Borg drones off until someone can destroy whatever ship they're in. Chances are, it's a probe, but once that signal goes out, the Borg will send in more... substantial forces - likely a cube or a diamond; maybe both."

"ah. calling in some connections of yours eh?" spirit asked

"very efficient plan Kay. and, Just as Hitler failed, so will the Borg. We wont let them go through with this, until im dead, which will probably never happen with you around at least, and unless you die, which i KNOW wont happen for quite a while, they aint succeedin" Star commented. She looked at Kay in a loving way

"alright so where should we start?" Spirit said

Kay smiled, kissed Star briefly, then hit a button on his right gauntlet. In seconds, a set of armor Kay didn't normally wear materialized over his body - Dragonarian Multi-Adaptive, Self-Regenerating Ablative (MASRA) Armor. "Assuming we make it out of this mess alive," he said from under his battle-helm, "Remind me to get you a set of this armor."

Kay moved out of the shooting range, cautiously looking around. "Where is everybody?" he whispered. He moved along the ground level, stopping at an intersection when his motion sensor painted movement up ahead - but it wasn't Borg. "Thunder!" he whispered.

"Flash!" whispered a familiar voice. Assured, Kay moved around the corner to find Kyle and Anna, hunkered down behind a pile of toppled crates. Kyle was armed with an AR635A2 Multi-Purpose Assault Rifle, while Anna had an X60 Assault Rifle. "Kay!" Kyle said. "S**t, man - you were this close to getting it!" Kyle said, spreading his thumb and trigger finger about an inch apart. "Where'd you come from?"

"Never mind that," Kay said, "We're trying to find a good subspace transmitter - know where we can find one?"

"Yeah," Kyle replied, "We have one in our ship - the JX70."

"Where is it?" Kay asked.

"Raz and Lee landed it up topside - on the roof. They're currently on the other side of this planet, but we can still use the ship," Anna explained. "Would you mind telling us why these... bionic zombie b*****ds just started showing up and attacking anyone that moved?"

"Long story, not enough time," Kay stated. "Let's--"

"We are the Borg. You will be Assimilated." four Borg drones appeared up ahead, behind Kyle and Anna, walking toward them like machines. Kyle and Anna leapt over the crates, Kyle firing as he went. One of the drones caught a burst to the head and dropped dead.

(I'm gonna sign off for a few - play a little MW4. I'll be back later.)

"well done kyle, that was a beautiful shot" Star said, shooting a Borg in the head without even having to look. Spirit took out her rifle, ran up a wall, and kicked off, shooting a Borg in the head in mid air

"Tao rehw jsim!( Die Borg scum)" Spirit yelled. She looked at kyle and anna

(Whew! Man, one of these days, I'm gonna have to start a Mechwarrior RP on this forum. I just blasted a WHOLE mech lance apart PLUS an Overlord-class dropship. Just another day in the Mechwarrior universe...)

As the four Borg drones dropped dead, Kay, Kyle and Anna moved with Star, Angel and Spirit to another level. As they moved, Kay opened a telepathic link to Spirit. You realize, of course, that if the Borg managed to assimilate anyone from that facility, then they will have found it? If so, then the chances are, that facility has either been destroyed or assimilated - either way, they're the least of our worries now. Now we need to figure out where these b*****ds are and what they want.

Kay halted as he saw a group of dead drones. "We were already through here," Kyle said. "Those were the first ones that ambushed us." As though Kay didn't hear this, he slowly approached the corpses. They didn't move, even as Kay prodded them with the end of his assault rifle's barrel. Kay had long ago learned to trust his instincts, and they nagged at him now. Something was wrong. He'd seen this before. A figure - different than the drones already encountered - appeared nearby.

"What's wrong, Omega?" she asked. "Isn't this familiar?" Kay doubled over, clutching his head in pain as a flood of painful memories entered his mind. "Organic minds are such fragile things - how could you forget us so quickly? We have met before, you and I."

Kay knew this person, this cyber-b**ch. This was the Borg Queen. "You... you are that which controlled the Necromyans - that which destroyed my home world, murdered my people. I remember you - how I boarded your ship, killed your drones... killed you."

"You think in such three-dimensional terms... how small you've become. You are capable of so much greater," the Queen said.

"I am," Kay said, "But you are not. You did nothing but murder everyone I knew."

"We did no such thing," the Queen said in an emotionless tone. "We merely delivered your people from chaos into order."

"Whatever you call it, I saw nothing but unprovoked murder," Kay growled. He pointed his MP340A2 at the queen's head. "You destroyed that which I considered family once; you will not do so again."

"We sought not to hurt your family," the queen said. "We only wished to improve their lives."

Kay backed up, putting himself between the queen and Star. "You will not take them." He hit a series of buttons on his left gauntlet.

"You cannot outrun us," the queen said. "Resistance is and always has been... futile."

"Not this time," Kay responded. As he fired his MP340A2 at the Queen's head, she disappeared, the bullet hitting nothing but air. As soon as she disappeared, four more Borg drones appeared. As though death by firing squad, Kay, Kyle and Anna opened fore and cut them down in a hail of bullets.

"Roof's this way - hurry!" Anna said, heading up the stairs to the next level. Kyle remained behind, his look of anger and hate hidden under his mask. The Necromyans - which literally meant "Cyborgs" in the Dragonarian tongue - have struck again, he thought. This time... this time, he would not let his family fall. Not again.

"Kay...........im sorry this happened to you. thank you for defending me from the queen of these Borg bast**ds. that queen will pay dearly with her life as the payment" star said as she looked at kay.

"she had no right to bring it back up.........." Star added. Spirit looked at Kay

"something important you should know about the faciliy...........there is more than one Kay. One facility was not enough for the perfect race, so they have multiples on different planets. there are many located throughout Corneria. Some are well hidden and haven't been found yet, besides the people who work at those secret facilities, no one knows where they are located" Spirit said

"How long would it take for the cavalries to arrive?" asked Angel, who surprisingly was silent until now

(sounds fun! and you should!)

Even though Star comforted him, he remembered the day Cerinia fell. Now he was certain he had the b*****ds where he wanted them.

In an answer to Angel's question, Kay responded, "It largely depends on how close the nearest battle group is," He moved with Kyle and Anna whilst saying to Spirit, "And it does not matter how many facilities these CMEF twits have; if the Borg..." Kay stopped midsentence, and then stopped moving. Comprehension dawned, a tactical plan clicking into place. "... If the Borg assimilated any from the Facility, they will have learned of the location of each facility in this galaxy," he continued. "If we can hold them off long enough, then call in the cavalry, we can kill two birds with one stone."

"Let the Borg take down the facilities, then knock the queen out of the picture," Kyle surmised. "Without her, the Collective falls into chaos - she is the brain, the junction point for the entire Borg hierarchy; if we kill her, and ensure she can't come back, the Collective will cease to function."

"But how will we know when the other facilities in other parts of the galaxy have been destroyed?" Anna asked. Kay had also considered this, and rushed back down to the Borg corpses, sliced one open, and dug around until he found what he was looking for - the Neuro-Processor. Washing his hands, he said, "I need a computer that can analyze the data on here."

"The computer core of the JX70 can do that," Kyle said.

"Good," Kay replied, "Let's go."

"his aura is turning dark again.........that queen......she hurt Kay in a way in which he will never recover fully, but she only made it harder for him to heal. she will pay..........i swear it" Star thought to herself. She then heard a familiar song come over the intercom in the complex, which she started to sing with quietly

"I'm so tired of being here Suppressed by all my childish fears And if you have to leave I wish that you would just leave Your presence still lingers here And it won't leave me alone These wounds won't seem to heal This pain is just too real There's just too much that time cannot erase......" she sang quietly to herself as she followed the group.

(Sorry for teh long disappearance - had to run to town AGAIN because my youngest brother nearly drank all the milk, and my middle brother didn't have the cash to get more PLUS toilet paper - I had to pay for our groceries AND dinner. Needless to say, I don't have the cash to get my processor now.)

Kay, Kyle and Anna were just coming up to the fourth floor when a welcoming party of Borg greeted them with disruptor fire from above. "Since when can the Borg shoot?!" Kyle yelled over the gunfire. He fired a burst into a drone and dropped him like a rock.

"The Queen obviously anticipated an armed response from me," Kay responded, ducking to avoid a disruptor bolt that whizzed past his head. "My recommendation; blow them to hell!" He rose to drill a drone in the head and nailed his mark. The drone inadvertently fired a disruptor bolt into an overhanging light, sending it crashing down on the rest of the party. Several survived, and they continued firing. Kay and Anna drilled separate drones simultaneously, while Kyle threw a spherical device into the midst of the other drones.

"Frag out! Take cover!" Kyle screamed. Kay, Anna and Kyle ducked behind cover as the device produced a resonant whump! And blew the rest of the Borg welcome wagon to shreds. One of the drones sailed over everyone's head, slamming into several different structures before he landed on the floor level.

"Wow," Kay commented. "Talk about a rough landing."

Angel, Spirit, and Star took cover. When the Borg exploded, a nice chunk cut Star on her forehead. She brought her hand up to it, and brought her bloodstained hand down.

"awwww F*CK! why is it that every time, i come out of the battle covered in fucking BLOOD?!" she cursed

Kay headed over to Star, treating her cut in record time. In literally seconds, he had Star patched up. "Next time, sweetheart," he mumbled to her, "Duck." He kissed her forehead before the group moved on. They moved along the fourth floor, coming to the stairs to take them to the fifth level. Conscious that the Borg may have set another ambush, Kay moved slowly into the clearing. He looked around, then spotted something of interest. "Come on," he said. "There's a computer over here; we can use it to access this neuro-processor." He dashed over to it, hacking through security as though it wasn't even there, and plugged in the Borg neuro-processor. His hands danced across the touch-screen keyboard as though possessed, and in seconds, data scrolled across the screen. Kay analyzed this data, then stated, "Okay, from this Borg chip, I can tell you that the other facilities in the galaxy have since been exterminated - survivors either terminated or assimilated. The last of the facilities are here, and are being assaulted as we..." Kay paused as new data appeared on the screen. He frowned, then said, "Uh-oh..."

"What?" Kyle asked.

"Good news - we no longer have to worry about the CMEF; Bad news - the Borg are coming after us next. They have a Command Diamond in orbit, and a Class-4 Tactical Cube already en route," Kay responded. He looked to Star and Angel. "And the Queen is spearheading this Assault, coming here to personally oversee my assimilation - it's time to finish this."

Though he felt nothing for hatred for the Borg Queen, it didn't feel as it did before. It was because he was killing to protect his family, Kay realized - something he never had since the fall of Cerinia. Thus assured, Kay loaded a fresh magazine into his MP340A2, then smashed the Neuro-processor with the stock of his rifle. "We finish this," he repeated. "And this time... we do it right."

Star looked at kay. She refused to go down without a fight, she loved Kay, and refused to let him do this alone.

"Spirit, watch Angel, we will be back, promise" Star said, she then looks at kay.

"lets end this, once and for all, we'll do it......together." she said while looking at him lovingly

Kay's heart beat faster when Star volunteered to assist him in eliminating the Queen once and for all. She must truly love him if she was willing to help him in this ordeal.

"We can hold them while you hunt the queen," Kyle said. He nodded to Kay. Though no words were spoken, Kay knew what Kyle told him: "For the sake of those you lost on Cerinia, you must end this."

"Here," Anna responded, tossing Kay a belt of grenades. "You need those more than I do." Kay nodded, heading out with Star close by. He headed down two levels, then stopped just shy of a sporting goods store. Making sure the coast was clear, he said to Star,

"Thank you... for everything. I wouldn't be here if it weren't for you."

She smiled at him

"your welcome Kay. If it werent for you, i would have died at the arena......."she said in a loving tone. She knew that she could die, but it would be searving the man she loved most.

"besides, its better to fight and die fighting next to the one you love, then to fight and die next to his or her allies" she added. She followed his every move, not taking a chance to be left behind. She would fight for what Kay was fighting for, she would also fight for his peace of mind that the queen took from him years ago. She then heard something that caused her to grab her head in pain extreme pain, a very high pitched noise to be exact. The noise that was being projected would affect Star greatly due to her enhanced hearing. She couldnt block out the sound in which she heard, no matter how hard she tried, it would still be the ear peircing sound. She looked around for whoever was projecting it, but could not find what or who it was. Tears of pain fell from her face as she grabbed her ears and tried to block out the sound. She fell to her knees, still grasping her ears and trying not to scream. She was able to mouth the words she wanted to say

"please make it stop! Please!"

In a telepathic blast, Kay eliminated the sound from Star's ears. He kept close to her, drilling a hapless drone that happened to be walking by. Perhaps it was just blind luck, but the Queen herself just happened to be in the store Star had collapsed near. Two drones approached Kay and Star, but the Queen waved them away. "Though I merely wished to bring order to your lives," she said, "I admit that this is between you and me - as is the coming fight."

"I had hoped for nothing less," Kay growled. He slowly de-materialized his armor. He then cast aside his shurikens, then finally removed his mask, letting it drop to the floor. He unlimbered his plasma katanas, the queen unlimbering a blade of her own. The blades flared to life with a resonant snap-hiss, and Kay stood there, his plasma katanas ready. He twirled them, putting himself in his battle-stance, with the blade in his right hand held over his head and the blade in his left hand curving across his right side.

It was then that the Queen engaged the dragon-shifter in a titanic duel. Both of them swung their blades in graceful arcs, deflecting blows and counterattacks. It wasn't until Kay knocked the queen's weapon out of her hands that things heated up. She pushed him into a wall, and his plasma katanas fell into her hands. Kay stood, facing his nemesis defiantly. Rather than kill him, as she should have, she simply held out a hand with one of the plasma katanas, opening it and allowing Kay to telekinetically pull the katana into his hand. He held it ready, and engaged the queen. They continued to fight, throwing punches and kicks and whatever else they could at each other. Kay blocked a blow before the queen kicked him in the stomach, then brought her blade down. Kay blocked this, grabbing the queen's hand and pushing her back. The queen pushed free, and the two combatants switched to a new stance, with the blades held backwards.

They began to fight again, clashing blades, punching faces and kicking each other, until Kay finally had an advantage.

"Remember this moment?" he asked the queen. "We've been here before, you and I. Last time, I put a bullet in your head. This time, I'm gonna make sure you stay dead." In a deft feat of acrobatics, Kay leapt over the queen, back-stabbed her, reached down to snatch his other Katana out of her now-weakened grip, then whirled around with it and sheared the Queen in half. (<--- This is like his signature finishing move) Unlimbering his El-Aurian Disruptor, he powered two full charges, saying in his native Dragonarian,

"Meykh youk brenn ferufn'err id thi fik'r'ss okh Keldon'takk Jsutis," (May you burn forever in the fires of Merciless Justice) He then shot each half of the queen's body. He watched as the Borg Queen - the entity that had taken his home, family, and everything else from him - disintegrated. By the time it was done, not even ashes remained. As the Collective brain disintegrated from them, the entire Collective was thrown into utter chaos. Across the galaxy, fleets of Borg vessels suddenly froze, some malfunctioning, others ceasing to function at all. Without the Queen to command and guide them, the drones that infested the Cornerian complex fell motionless and dead to the floor, some crying out in mechanical cries of death, some never opening their mouths at all. The Borg vessels in orbit, who had terrorized the populace below, fell suddenly motionless and silent. Their weapons stopped operating, their adaptive shielding broke down, and massive feedback loops caused their whole power system to collapse and the vessels themselves simply and spontaneously exploded.

"It is done," Kay said. "At long last, it is done." He retrieved his weapons, plodding toward Star and collapsing exhausted in her arms. It was as he collapsed that Kyle and Anna came running around the corner.

"Is he alright?" Anna asked.

Star looked at anna

"he's fine........he's exhausted from the battle...he finally destroyed that in which destroyed his home, his family, his life" Star said. she looks at his exhausted body in her arms, she then speaks to him

"after years of wondering alone, you find someone who truly loves you and, in which, will embrace you. Even in the heat of the battle, even facing her own death, will reach out to you, and wont let you wonder the earth with nobody at your side" Star said, looking at Kay in a loving and considerate way.

"i will always be here for you Kay, never doubt that........" she added

Kay heard Star's words, but couldn't speak; he was exhausted from the battle. He could barely keep his eyes open. He looked at Star - his life, his love - and finally mouthed the words, "I... love... you."

Anna couldn't help but be touched by this. "Here," she said, "Let me give you a hand." She hefted one of Kay's arms around her shoulder, then helped Star carry Kay out of the complex. It was then that the group noticed the song being played by the complex intercom, and Kay mumbled along with it:

"I remember black skies, the lightning all around me. I remembered each flash as time began to blur; Like a startling sign that fate had finally found me, and your voice was all I heard, that I'd get what I deserve..."

Star carried Kay, with the help of Anna, to her home.

"Angel, put in the unlock code if you will" Star said. Angel did so and opened the door for them. Star walked kay with the help of Anna to the bedroom and layed him on the bed

"you need to rest, you want anything to eat?" she asked in a concerned tone as she gave a look of sympathy. She looked at Kyle and Anna

"make yourselves comfortable, Stay as long as you like" She said with a smile, then turned back to kay

"you fought very hard back there, you deserve to get some rest. i will get you whatever you need, all you gotta do is ask, ok?" She said, still concerned for him

Kay chuckled. He laid down on Star's bed, saying as he disengaged the security systems for his armored gauntlets with his hands shaking, "Just... help me take these off." The gauntlets powered down as Kyle and Anna sat down on the couch.

She pulls the gauntlets off of his arms and sets them down on the table next to him. She looks at his shaking hands and put them into her own hands, then looks at him. She kissed his forehead lightly, not leaving his side.

"i thank you Kay, for everything you have done for me. You saved me from many things, one of which, was myself. We went from mistrust, to a valued friendship, to loving each other dearly. This process was a miracle it seems, finding the person we thought we would never find, that we gave up on searching for."star said as she looked at Kay as they were in the bedroom, Angel was in the living room with Kyle, Anna, and Spirit. Angel looked at Kyle

"well, that was an interesting situation there now wasn't it." Angel said. Spirit sat there silently, looking at the many scars on her body. She then looked at Kyle and Anna

"I shall be going...........my tri-" She was interrupted by Angel

"you tribe..........they are all dead.........aren't they?" Angel said. Spirit gave angel a look of hatred, sorrow, and depression.

"my tribe was slaughtered years ago.......as Indari, i am the last survivor of my tribe, the Choula tribe, although something particularly different about this was, i had what they call a near-death experience. I knew i was dead when i saw the many slaughtered members of my tribe fade away into completely nothing. I saw family members that died years before this experience. But i was given a second chance. I woke up 3 days later where i had "died". i was given immortality after that. Although Indari had it worse, so i cannot complain." She said, staring at Angel in a murderous way, then headed towards the open window.

" may we meet again" she said before jumping out a window and taking off

"i guess i should have kept my mouth shut" angel said
