Draco looked to Star. "I am visible to you because you need to hear this as well."

"Draco... why are you here?" Kay murmured.

"I've been watching you, Kyle Indari... for a very long time," Draco said.

Kay began to sob, feeling guilty. Draco walked over to Kay, letting him cry down his spiritual shoulder.

"There, there, Kyle... I, too, am sorry - I should have been there to guide you. But I am... or was... dead."

"What are you saying?" Kay asked.

"That is what I wanted to explain - I have been given an opportunity to rejoin you," Draco said. "But I wanted to explain a few things, first."

"What, Draco?" Kay sobbed. "What is it?"

"Firstly, I know what has been troubling you in your sleep," Draco said. "It is a memory, as I'm sure you know - But there is more to that memory than you realize." With a sigh as Draco released Kay, he began, "I am the reason you are still alive. I saved you in that hospital you awoke in. Were it not for me, you would not be here - and Star would forever be plagued by Damien. It was because of that action alone that I was given the opportunity to rejoin you. But I promised myself that I would both give you the option to decline, and explain to you... where you really come from."

Kay frowned. "What do you mean?"

"Did you never wonder how you became a dragon-shifter?" Draco asked. "It is a very rare condition within young dragons - you were born with a rare genetic marker that allowed you to take the form of a native of the world you were born on - in your case, Cerinia."

"I'm not following this..." Kay said.

"Kyle... I'm your father," Draco said. "Your true father." Draco's ramifications hit home as he added, "Why do you think I was so quick to shelter you when Cerinia fell?"

Kay looked to Star. "Star...?" he asked. "I... I'm sorry... I didn't know..."

"Well I'm gonna go to bed", Zack said to Angle and headed off, when Zack got to the lobby he noticed Star standing there so he thought he saw his opportune moment to tell Star, but then as he was walking over towards her, Zack then saw Kay crying and then something else caught his attention, he saw what appeared to be the spiritual figure of a dragon, so Zack hid and watched.

She smiled, feeling happy for him yet abit of jelousy he had part of his family there with him

"congratulations Kay! Im so happy for you....." she said, hugging him. When she hugged him, a couple tears rolled down her cheeks and hit the floor. She thought to herself

"i love kay and im so happy for him....but i feel so jealous of him. He has his father right with him.....but he deserves this....he has been through alot." star looked at Kay

"im gunna get myself some rest.....ill.......ill see ya later" star said, walking off towards their room.

"Star..." Kay said, grabbing Star's arm before she left, "Don't... don't leave."

"Though you need some rest after what you went through, Star, Kyle is right to want you to stay," Draco explained. "There was a reason I wanted you here. Because I am Kyle's father, and because you are his lover, that would technically make me your father as much as I am his. And I'm sure you are aware of what family means to a dragon-shifter like Kyle."

As Zack was watching this he thought to himself,'well maybe I shouldn't tell her it would make things awkward and I'm seventeen so she out of my league anyways'.

The wolf had dozed off through all the talking. She was roused when her hand fell from it's position; propped under her cheek.

"Huh?" she rubbed her eyes sleepily, "Oh yeah..." she said looking around, smiling. She laughed. "I heard that Star! In real life I wouldn't act that way...Really!" She chuckled softly, then looked around...Surprised to see she was the only one there. She mentally kicked herself. "I'll find her..." the wolf rose out of her seat and used her keen nose to pick up Star's scent, sniffing the air. She grinned widely and patted her nose as if it was a close friend. She picked up the scent easy enough. Getting down on all fours, she ran in the direction her new acquaintances had left.

Star looked at Kay

"Kay......" star said looking into his eyes.

"i wont leave you if you dont want me to" she said, smiling. She kissed him on the lips gently and held him close.

Kay held Star, looking to Draco. "Are you sure you'd be willing to come back?" he asked. "After everything you've seen... everything I've done?"

"Kyle," Draco responded, "I wouldn't have it any other way. Star needs a family - just like you."

Kay closed his eyes, tears leaving them as he said, "So be it," before he buried his face in Star's shoulder. There was a blinding flash of light as a spirit, trapped in a ghostly form for so long, re-assumed his physical form. His brown scales glinted dimly in the moonlight shining through the complex's skylight. When it all ended, a great dragon stood before his dragon-shifter son. Kyle embraced his father as he began to sing an old lullaby to his son;

"When you were standing in the wake of devastation, and you were waiting on the edge of the unknown... And with the cataclysm raining down, insides crying save me now, you were there impossibly alone; Do you feel cold and lost in desperation? You build up hope, but failure's all you've known; Remember all the sadness and frustration, and let it go, let it go."

As though possessed, the radio picked up where Draco had left off.

So they stood there, the returned father holding his cynical son, with Kay's lover looking on. Kay cried, but he was not sad - He was not angry, enraged or depressed, but he was happy, having at long last been reunited with his true father. Kay felt the weight of his troubled past lifted from his shoulders, and all he cared about now was his father, his lover, and his family - and felt the desire to keep them safe.

Draco looked up tears in his own eyes, at Star. "If you want to hug me, go ahead - I don't bite."

Kay sat down next to Star, gently leaning her head against her shoulder. "It must be strange, father - having your son in love with a woman like Star," he said.

"No stranger than knowing my son is a dragon-shifter," Draco responded. He walked over and laid down next to the bench. "Truthfully, I expected you to fall in love with her - and it makes me damn proud to see you turn yourself around like you did."

Kay nodded, then changed the subject. "Father, can I ask you something?"

Draco smiled. "Of course. As my son, you deserve to know the truths that have long eluded you."

"If you're my father... what happened to my mother?" Kay asked.

"Well," Draco explained, "Your mother - fortunately - was on Dragonaria Prime at the time of Cerinia's destruction. After my death, she tried to move on..."

"She's dead, isn't she?" Kay asked.

"No, thankfully. But she hates herself for not being around to save me after I died the first time," Draco responded. "Perhaps later, we can find her."

"Perhaps," Kay admitted, "But we have spoken enough, and I do not wish to wake Star.

"Of course," Draco said. "But... I ask you remain out here, so I can keep an eye on you. I lost you once; I will not do so again."

Kay nodded, holding Star close as Voro came out with a blanket and pillows. He gave them to Kay with a wink, and headed off to his own room. Kay gently placed the blanket around him and Star, and leaned Star's head on his shoulder.

"I'll wake you before breakfast," Draco whispered. But Kay was already asleep...

Star woke up at about 8 am, her vision blurred as the light slightly blinded her. She looked next to her and saw Kay resting. She smiled and waited patiently for him to awake.

Draco, sitting nearby, turned his head. "You're up early," he said. "Given how tired you were, I expected you to sleep in like my son does." He sat up and asked, "Can I ask you something?"

"How did you come to love my son?" Draco asked. "I've been watching you and him for a while, but I'd like to hear your side of the story."

"oh.....i guess....i guess when he scared off damien for the first time.....it showed me how much he cared for me........then it went from there" star said, looking at draco with a faint smile.

Draco could sense the subtle nuance of fear mixed with waking up in the morning. "You need not fear me, Star - I would not hurt you. As I said, because you are my son's lover, that makes you a part of my family as much as he. You can rest assured that neither of us will allow any harm to come to you."

Kay twitched and groaned. He lifted his head up, and opened his Sapphire-blue dragon eyes halfway. He groaned, holding his head, and asked, "Why do I feel like I got hit by a train?"

"Star?" Kay asked. "Are you alright? Are you hungry?"

"I'm not exactly sure she feels too well," Draco said. "If you need a healer, I'm skilled in healing magic."

"funny you should mention healing magic Draco. Im a healer myself, though i cannot self heal....oh ill be fi-" star was interrupted by her coughing. She covered her mouth as she coughed, making it hard to talk

Kay was instantly concerned. He held Star close to him, sensing her cold. A trivial matter even Kay could heal. He pressed the palm of his hand gently against Star's forehead, seeking the illness out and eliminating it - leaving Star able to breathe easy.

Star's cough was gone and she breathed easily. She smiled and kissed kay gently on the lips

" thank you so much, i dont think being sick would be good, especially around my favorite man in the whole world" star said happily

Draco smiled, gesturing to the blankets and pillows. They disappeared, re-appearing on Star's bed. Of all the sly comments Draco could have said, he ultimately voiced none of them.

"Come on, you two," Draco finally said. "Let's find something to eat." His eye spied a dragon-catering service next to an eatery perfect for Star and Kyle.

Zack was fast asleep where he hid up in the rafters and soon he fell right in front of Kay and Star and awoke with a loud thud

"OUHH... darn it I'm defiantly gonna feel that tomorrow", he said as he grabbed his head in pain

When Zack fell from the rafters, Kay thought he was someone else. He was about to attack when Draco stopped him. He finally recognized him and asked, "Zack? What're you doing up in the rafters?"

"I sensed his presence earlier - but I did not want to wake him," Draco stated.
