The Cornerian Complex

Grinning like a woman given crack, Victoria places her hand on the counter and vaults over the counter.

"I got you, Kage!" She shouts, already reaching down and mixing liquids not meant to be ever touched.

Soon reaching the ground floor, Wolf notices a small teddy bear. Wolf walks over to it, picks it up, and looks around. No one in sight. He then grabs his communicator and inputs Thomas's number. In a sorrowful voice, Wolf says to Thomas, " Can you pull up the cameras in the Complex lobby on my screen for me and rewind it?"

Thomas asks, "What for?" Wolf immediately responds in a sadder tone, "Just do it. Please." "Ok, Ok..." Thomas adds. There was one person here a few minutes ago. A young woman and her daughter. They left for the clothing store. No other angles in the lobby."

"Thanks. I owe you one." Wolf closes the communicator and heads in the same direction as the camera indicated, in a rush.

Star walked into the shop, looking at the many childrens clothes for her daughter, when suddenly she hears the little one whimper. She looks down to her right and finds that Kora is sobbing, her hands balled up in little fists as she wipes the tears away. Star gets down on one knee and gives Kora a reassuring smile as she tries to calm her down enough to understand what's wrong.

As Wolf rushes into the store, he immediately sees the pair in question. He slowly walks up to them, hands the bear over to the young woman, and says, "I figured your daughter lost this." He kneels down and gives a slight reassuring talk to the young pup, "Don't worry, little one. Keep what's closest to you safe."

"Gather 'round, you drunks and sods!" Victoria shouts, mixing booze with precision bourn of having no idea what she was doing. The bottle of Ethanol gathering multiple colors on the counter shudders as she pours more and more into it.

"Gather your wits and your livers and try Miklagard's attempts to make a drink!"

Star looked at the wolf, smiling as he handed over Kora's stuffed toy.

"Thank you very much. I didnt even notice that she lost it, and if I would have left it, I wouldnt be able to forgive myself". Star took the toy from him and handed it to Kora, who took no time to take it and hold it in her arms. Star smiled and stood up, now turning her attention back to the wolf.

"So, what's your name stranger"?

"No problem, it's just when I saw the bear, it reminded me of my past, and what I lost." Wolf stood up from the pup and said, "My name is Wolf Lyonheart. May I ask for yours, miss?"

"My name is Star Marie Young, and this", as she looks to Kora, "Is my daughter Kora. We actually just got here because I needed some supplies for my Platoon and the little one needed some clothes. Although my Air craft isn't doing so hot and not really safe to fly right now, so I will be stuck here for a couple days. So with that, I have a couple questions to ask". Star quickly bent down to pick up Kora and then looked back at Wolf.

"Do you by chance know where I can find some decent Ammo and weaponry? Also, I need some new tools and wires to fix my ship because I'm a dumbass and I didn't bring mine, so if you can lead me to a shop that sells that, it would be fanfriggintastic".

"Well, I got here a little while ago, so I don't know of any shops around here... but The Starlight, my ship, might have a few ammo boxes and guns laying around. My friend, Thomas can help you fix the ship as well." Wolf said. "So, what platoon are you in, if I may ask?"

"Platoon 1027. I am one of their two mechanics and I work with both Avionics and the normal tech stuff, so fixing my ship wont be a problem and I will gladly appreciate the help. Now, are you by chance associated with any of Corneria's Military Forces"?

'"Sadly, no. Me and my two friends at the bar are currently a part of a new division of the U.N in Earth, but the Corneria Military seems nice. My job is somewhat messier than most military forces..."

Star raised an eyebrow, oddly curious. "Do tell. I would love to hear about your job. I take it you're a mercenary of some sort? Something along those lines I presume"? As Star chatted away, Kora fell asleep in her mothers arms.

Wolf responded to this in his best way possible, "I'm not a mercenary either, Me and my team receive orders from the U.N's global leaders, to hunt down and kill people responsible for war crimes, treason, and terrorists in Federation planets." Wolf then starts speaking in a sorrowful tone," I...I was invited on the U.H to help figure out who started the war in my home planet, Terr'an, and find out who killed... everyone on that ship... but me..." Wolf then realizes his sudden actions, "That's why I rushed to find you... because that bear reminded me of my parents."

Star smiled , but looked to the ground with only her eyes, a sorrowful look in them

"Parents......I never had parents. Since I was little I've been on my own, and after I broke out of and escaped a scientific prison, I hid myself from......them. I never had time to make real friendships because I was so paranoid. After I turned 16 though, their activity went down and I started living my life from there". Star momentarily stood silent, then snapped her eyes up to meet his, an embarassed look on her face.

"I'm sorry about that....I have flashbacks every now and again and it causes me to speak my mind".

"I did not know my parents either... they and all of the other passengers died in an engine core explosion shortly after I was born... I don't remember much from it, except that my foster parents came to have found me in the pod I was in." Wolf a little more happy as he said this, and added," Don't worry about the flashbacks. And one thing, they always tell you that the worst is over."

Kage approached the two, "Hey, I thought I saw a familiar face in here" he said to Wolf.  "I see you've made a friend" the mercenary mentioned as he nsdded and smiled at her.

Star smiled. "It is indeed". Soon enough another new person entered the store and smiled at her. Star looked at him and smiled back.

"I see you attract attention Mr.Lyonheart, and this one seems to be of human decent", Star said, only looking at Wolf with her eyes and with a grin on her face. Star then snapped her eyes back to the Mercenary and held out her left hand, using the other to hold up her sleeping child.

"I am Star".

"When did you get here? You scared me a bit. Oh well, meet Kage, the bartender..." Wolf then realizes what could go wrong... "Wait a minute...who's covering you back at the bar?"

"CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG"

Victoria rhythmically slams her fists into the counter, the movement echoed by the dozens of patrons in the near full bar. On the counter, a funnel in one hand and sitting rather provocatively on her knees, sits a little lizard lady, drowning herself in the poured booze.

"CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG"

Her face red with excitement, Victoria looks at Chayrlin, who is more disappointed than anything.

"I'd Like to see you do better!" Victoria shouts over the din, provoking a cocky smirk from her confidant and arms mistress.

He shook Star's hand, "Good to meet you" the man replied.  Pleasantries out of the way, Kage looked to Wolf and responded "Don't worry, Victoria's got the bar... Covered..." his face went pale as soon as he realized what he had done.  "Uhh... Well I'm sure she'll be fine." He stammered.  For all he knew she could be giving away a lot of money's worth of alcohol, but she had more self control than that, right?  ...Right?

Wolf, nearly speechless and pondering the possibilities, says this, "Well...then...we might have to get to that... Deal with the problem. But first I have to help Star and her daughter with some ammo boxes and guns. I'll have to call Kimari as well. Anything you need, Kage?"

"Guns and ammo?  For what?" Kage asked.  "Those technically aren't even supposed to be in the complex."

Wolf, slightly annoyed, says, "They're not in the Complex, Kage. Star says she needs them for her platoon, number 1027, and the weapon boxes are on my ship. I'm going to have to load them onto hers."

Star looked at Kage. "I had someone tell me there WAS ammo and weapons here....". Star sighed and shook her head, looking back up at the Mercenary.

"Oh well, good thing Wolf here has some supplies for me. Oh, and did I hear mention of a bar? I think I would like to come and have myself a drink or two. Plus, the little one hasn't eaten since this morning and I would like to get her some food, if that's alright with you Mr. Kage".

"Well if you feel a bar is an okay atmosphere for your kid to be in, then sure."  He wasn't one to tell someone how to parent, he's never done it before.  "It's this way" Kage said, beginning towards the bar, stopping to make sure they were following.
