"Well there's fries, just deep fried potatoes. Tossed salad, uhh... leeks? You like leeks?" Kage asked, he didn't usually cook for vegetarians

Kage laughed, "Lighten up, it's no trouble." He said as he picked up a couple leeks from the cooler and began to cut them. "You work for me, anything you need just speak up. I'll give you a discount."

Chayrlin takes this time to respond. "You really need to make a better menu if all you have for vegetables are leeks." She shakes her head, fully disappointed.

"I don't cook vegetarian stuff often, plus, I have more, but the only one that would make a good meal by itself is grilled leeks" Kage responded.  "Do -you- want to be the vegetable cook?"

He turned to Wolf and shook his head, "You know what?  Don't worry about the leeks, I got tons of em"

"Why not?" Chayrlin shrugs, taking the moment to enter the bard kitchen and assert her place in the scheme of things.

"You just outsourced my Chamberlain!" Victoria says, her eyes wide from the suddenness of the proceedings.

Kage laughed, "That must say something about her previous job then, doesn't it?" he asked

"Ahahahaha eat a dick." Vicky grumbles, the sounds of a kitchen at serious work emanating from Chayrlin's location. She peeks her head out, her face already coated with a light layer of flour. Having removed her bulky overcoat, Chayrlin now looks like the old Crone she is, with skin and muscles born of toil.

"Where do you keep the spices?" She asks.

"In the cabinet next to the stove" Kage said, "There should be a bunch of spices around in there."

He looked around and picked up a glass and a rag from underneath the table and began to wipe the glass down with the rag.  The glass was already clean, but he decided it was better to look busy at a time like this.

Chayrlin blinks. "That sorry excuse for a taste palate?" Chayrlin pretends to swoon, her head dipping close to the floor from her obscured position. "Oh I have so much work to do!"

She stands and for a while is content rummaging around the kitchen, the sounds of pots on pots and metal on pots mixing with the sound of disappointed tsks.

Kage heard the disappointed sighs and shouted into the kitchen "Feel free to go out and get any ingredients you need, it's a shopping complex you know!"  "Is she always like this?" He asked, turning to Victoria.

"All day, every day, most days, never ever stops." The words come from the doorway as Chayrlin leaves the kitchen, donning her hat as she walks towards the bar exit. She smiles at her own words, taking a moment to tap Victoria on the shoulder.

"Im going to appropriate a few of your Legion, Hope you dont mind" With that she leaves.

Victoria looks up at Kage. "Well, i cant get her to stop if thats what you're asking."

"Hey you two," Wolf interrupted, after gnawing at his leeks. "It's nice to fight about food, but is this really the time to do that?"

"What?" Kage asked, rather incredulously.  "Well, sure.  What else is there to do?  I'm cleaning a glass, she's sitting around, it's a slow day at the bar, and nothing else is going on.  So yeah.  It's an okay time to do it I would think."

Victoria shrugs. "Hey, join the argument, i have it on good authority that this place didn't have the greatest of food for a while."

"Ok then, fine. Why, Kage, is there nothing on the menu for vegetarians like me?" Wolf says nonchalantly, taking out his communicator and playing with it.

"Because until now there haven't been any vegetarians that wanted anything to eat in my bar" Kage replied, still working away at the glass.  "Why are you the first vegetarian in my bar?" He fired back

"Because," Wolf said. "I choose to be one. Even though my teeth make it harder for me, It's a Tribal tradition... I might as well follow it. But besides, I don't personally mind the menu."

"Shit son, i don't come to a bar to eat" Victoria says, sipping at the concoction she had mixed in her brief tenure as head of the bar.

Barkeep: Anything else I can get you, Commander?

Agathol looks up from his drink and gives a long cold stare. It was clear he only came for the booze, nothing else.

Barkeep: Okay, let me know if you change your mind.

The seasoned CDF officer dove back into his memories. Not just the wars, but the blunders, the missed opportunities weighed heavy on his mind. He almost was begging for a distraction.

Kage laughed, "Since when do you eat anyway?" He asked, "Don't you just live on alcohol and alcohol alone?"

"Alcohol, Chayrlin's cooking, Alcohol, Alcohol, and occasionally whatever cupcake the little one makes" Victoria confirms, slugging back a drink before she fills up another glass of her strange concoction.

Star looked to the CDF officer and froze, thinking he was with those she was hiding from. She gulped and tried not to draw any attention from him, getting up and heading to the bar as her daughter happily munched on her burger.
