"Good. Not bad for someone who learned how to make them from WORKING AT A GEEK HELP DESK!" Casino said, emphasizing the last part in hopes the bartender heard.

"We've had better." Her sister said simply. She extends her hand for Amelia to shake, "Royale Rojanoir"

Her sister follows suit with her hand "Casino Rojanoir."

"Pleasure to meet you." They said simultaneously.

"Amelia Cimmaron," Amelia said, shaking the twins' hands. "The pleasure is all mine. Not too often does a person come across such, uh, interesting people."

Kage shrugged, "I don't know what you expected.  Restaurant quality?" He asked.  "The only great thing here is the drinks"

Kage shrugged, "I don't know what you expected.  Restaurant quality?" He asked.  "The only great thing here is the drinks"

"The drinks. *Scoff* Sure. I never got my Battery Acid Pile Driver!" Casino retorts.

"Amelia Cimmaron," Amelia said, shaking the twins' hands. "The pleasure is all mine. Not too often does a person come across such, uh, interesting people."

"Interesting. You have no idea." Royale says with a smile. "My sister and I have done quite a few things in our time. What about you? You seem a lot better dressed than anyone here. How'd you get all that stuff?"

"Better dressed?" Amelia placed her hand on her chest as if flattered. That just made her ego rise a few points. "Oh, you. You're going to make my head big. But um..." She smoothed a few loose strands of hair out of her face. "...To answer your questions, I'm a scientist and a photographer." She would have added that she's also a television personality and that she maintains a educational blog, but she didn't want to railroad the conversation. "And, the clothes?" She looked down to see the ensemble she had put together today. "The shirt, I got from Diesel S.p.A. The jeans are Abercrombie and Fitch. And I got the shoes and bag from Nieman Marcus. Why do you ask?"

"She had been living on the streets for about two years before i found her" Victoria says, letting go of the photo. Unlike the picture, Victoria is calm and collected.

"When i found her, she was hiding in a vent from this really large crowd of dudes. Called my squad in and it degenerated into an open conflict with the Cornerians." Victoria withdraws another photo, putting aside the next one. Owning a pair of bright blue eyes, the little girl is absolutely dwarfed by her mother, the larger Victoria holding her with one arm as she stares, frightened but curious, at the photographer.

"They didn't touch her, if thats what you are panicking about. And she says that she was only hit a couple times before she learned how to get away." Victoria says, a flash of something in her eyes. "Didn't stop me from painting them with bruises."

"I'm glad she's safe, but it's always the innocent who die by crossfire. Wolf says it's a sad sight to see." Thomas says, looking sorrowfully at Wolf.

Star smiled at the picture.

"You're very sweet to have rescued her like that. She is a gorgeous little girl, and i would have done the same thing if I were you. So how old is she"?

"Honestly we don't know" Victoria says, raising her head and losing herself in her thoughts. "We couldn't beat a birth certificate out of the Cornerians and Gracia doesn't know."

Vicky takes a drink.

"Blood test puts her at around 6, but we can't really know until the government fesses up."

"Because, according to the lack of documentation, Gracia doesn't exist" Victoria says, rolling her eyes and huffing.

"The formal papers call for both the cessation of inquiry and the return of any documents and proof that such a creature exists. They want her back, and are willing to lie in the face of conflict to do so" Victoria puts the pictures back into her wallet, returning it to her pocket.

Star growls, obviously feeling for her.

"Im so sorry that that's happening to you. That poor girl deserves some justice and she deserves to know where she came from and who she really is". Star patted Kora on the head gently and the child giggles, smiling brightly. Turning back to Victoria, Star picked up her glass and downed the rest of her drink.

"Weird question, but by any chance would my daughter be able to meet yours? My little one doesn't really have any children to play with seeing as well, she's not only shy but she never gets the chance to. Me being deployed means she has to come as well, seeing as I have no parents nor any other relatives to have her stay with. Her being forced to be isolated from any children her age isn't healthy, and I don't want her to be lonely and not have any social skills what-so-ever. Truly, the only real friends she's had is me and her father, who is currently deployed on Earth for Marine Corps. training".

"I'd say yes."  Victoria says, only to have her face fall nearly instantly, a vibrating tune coming from her phone. She holds up a single finger, the universal sign of "Fuck me my phone is going off, give me a moment to tell someone off"

She whips out her phone and slams it against her head, her face of teetering neutrality.

"Von Hannover-Mikligard here... yes i told you, whatever she wants, what ever fits, give her the choice and if she can't, do it for her!"

She closes the phone and looks up at Star, exasperation on her face. "Men." She wiggles her eyebrows and gives a brief laugh. "As i was saying, i would say yes, but right now she is with her auntie and uncle."

Star laughs with Victoria and nods.

"It's alright, me and my little one are patient women....however, the only person who isn't the most patient man on earth is my husband. Sometimes he can be a total hothead when he's cranky" Star said sighing.

"Men....can't understand 'em".

"Just making conversation. I don't mean anything bad by it, but you do stand out. Most people don't really care to dress that well nowadays.Take it as a compliment." Royale says. "I am curious about your line of work."

Casino taps on the bar. "Bartender! Let me have a Manhatten this time around. If you have, use Bourbon please."

"You might not meet her today. This is an establishment for 21 and older, she doesn't exactly fit that bill." Vicky jokes, smiling for a brief moment before something crosses her mind.

"Her Auntie and Uncle have PT in the morning, and she has a Doctor's appointment until tomorrow evening. She ain't healthy, and its gonna be a long while before she is."

"Say, where are the hotels here"?

*TIMESKIP*

Almost as quickly as Halloween had snuck by the complex, the yuletide herald soon left a blanket of snow across the upper part of the complex that played host to Kage's Bar.

Dressed in festive coloration, Victoria had traded out her normal deep blue jacket for something more forest-y. She stands on a stool, her impressive height allowing her to dwell in the ceiling as she strings up decorations of the jolly obese man we all know and love.

Chayrlin left her normal hat at home, instead her withered and greyed hair is now capped with a bright red and festive Santa hat. Whistling an old ditty she knew as a child, she sorts colored candies from obnoxiously large bags. Red and Green go into their respective bowls, while the remaining colors are swiftly cleansed from this plain of existence, a Christmastime Holocaust of chocolate.

And a newcomer sits tittering with a 7:00 AM glass of wine, her normal pure white Toga replaced with an exact replica, sans its earth green color.

The bar opens as they work.

Kage was still in his normal attire.  Sure, he liked this season, it was fun, and a nice little break from the troubles life brings, but it wouldn't make him change the way he dressed.  He was standing on a chair at the moment, hanging brightly colored festive Christmas lights from the walls.

"Victoria, can you hand me that extension cord?" He asked.  Christmas lights were his least favorite decoration part, but he was determined to finish what he had started.

(Finally, it's been a while.)

Wolf walks in to the bar, wearing his normal camo clothes with the exception of a Santa hat and green gloves. He goes to the counter and asks, "Need any help with those? I technically count as an employee."

How long had it been since a member of the DMC visited the complex? Or a Sangheili? Or a foreign member of the USR Armed Forces? It was difficult to say. But the complex was about to get a visitor from far, far away once more. The first sign was when a TDIG Rift opened up in orbit, and the sixteen-kilometer-long Dragon's Rage exited it. Next, a transporter beam energized just outside Kage's Bar, and several figures were deposited there. Though they were still in the beam, a conversation could already be heard.

"... But by the time Uncle Mathayus and I arrived, the b****rd had taken a ship and fled," Came Drake Indari's voice.

"Fled where?" asked Anna's voice. "He's got nowhere to run."

"Be that as it may, he would not have stolen that craft if he didn't have someplace to go," said the raspy voice of Mathayus Indari. "Silthar is no fool."

The transporter had finished putting the family where they were when Kyle Indari's voice could be heard saying, "We'll worry about this later; we're in a public space. No more discussion of the op." He looked to the patrons of the bar and said, "Sorry if we disturbed you all."

Victoria snakes an extension cord down from the ceiling, handing it off to Kage with her spare hand. "We got it, Wolf"

Chayrlin hears the sound of atoms rearranging and gives a wave and a jaunty "Merry Christmas!"

Kyle frowned, apparently unaware it was that time of year already. "Likewise, comrade," he told Chayrlin.

Drake looked around, then looked to those present. "I don't suppose any of you have seen a young Liiraan Lioness, about yay high?" he lifts his hand almost level with himself, and added, "Wears glasses from time to time, usually totes around a modded E11 Blaster Carbine?"

"I couldn't tell you what a 3rd of those things in that sentence was" Chayrlin says, shrugging as she pops a doomed Candy into her mouth. She chews for a second and swallows contemplativly. "Plus we just opened, you would be the first aside from the Duchess to be here this early."

Drake paused, then shrugged. "Okay, just thought I'd ask."

"She may be elsewhere in the complex," Kyle told Drake. "You know what her presence in the force feels like - go find her." Drake nodded, then headed off. Once he was out of earshot, he looked to his wife. "I do hope he stays out of trouble," he told her. Anna said something in her native tongue, and Kyle just chuckled. "That he can - but the last thing we want here is a--" Kyle was quickly elbowed gently in the gut by Anna, and he said no more. She looked back at him and whispered,

"You saw how he handled Silthar. Drake can take care of himself." Kyle locked his eyes on Anna's and said,

"He is our son; I wouldn't want anything to happen to him."

"Honey," Anna stated softly, "You're being over-protective - he'll be fine." She placed a hand on Kyle's cheek and added, "Trust me."
