Toby's purring began to muffle a bit as he was getting ready to speak. "I don't even understand it....." he would say to her, hoping he did not offend her. He would look at his plate again, then up at John, smiling at his friend.

Jade heard his response and she smiled at the young boy. "Don't worry Toby, its a natural feeling." Jade stated. "Sometimes myself and others even John do what you just did, it is completely natural."

John looked at Toby. He smiled back at the boy. He had been watching the interaction between Jade and Toby. "If you would like dessert, go right ahead. I heard that they have an excellent banana split" He said happily.

Jade heard a voice. At first she thought Toby was talking through his voice. She then noticed that it was telepathic. She smiled a bit. "Yes Toby I can hear you, can you hear me? and please call me Jade" She looked at Toby and smiled, hoping that he would pick up her voice.

He would face his head to the side, he heard something. it came to him as, "Yes.....hear you.......me.....Jade" He chuckled, at least he knew he was hearing something, and able to talk like that. He stared at John, wanting to try it on him, but decided against it for now, since he would not be able to hear a response to greatly.

Jade saw his response and she knew that some of the message went through. She smiled a bit. She noticed that Toby stared at John and soon she did to. Wondering how John would react.

Toby would giggle, then he concentrated, "Hi Mr. John" he would think, not knowing if it went through or not. He then turned to Jade, "Do you think I'll be able to hear just one person at a time and not everyone else?" he would ask her normally, in case John did not get the message, and lightly filled in what he did.

John picked up Toby's message. He smiled, he thought a little bit "I am not sure if you can hear me Toby, but if you can hear my thoughts, I heard you." He was not sure if Toby could hear him, so he also decided to tell him that he heard him. "Yes Toby, I heard you."

Toby sadly didn't hear John in thought, but turned his head when he was spoken to. He would smile, but knew it was starting to cut out again. He suddenly remembered the bent fork and pulled it from under his leg where he hid it, "I also want help with this..." he would show Jade the fork, "It happened when I felt upset...." he would say. Just then a waiter came by and noticed the bent fork. "Um....excuse me....what..happened to the silverware..." knowing it could not be by accident.

John saw the waiter and cunningly responded. "Oh, when we sat down, my little guy here found the fork hidden in the cushions. " He looked at Toby and smiled and looked back at the waiter " We can assure you all of our forks are here."  Jade had managed while the waiter was distracted to take a fork from a booth behind them and put it into John's hand under the table. "He has his fork, and I have mine."

Mind if I take the Fork young man?" he would ask, and Toby would reach out and hand it to the man, then watched as he he walked away back towards the kitchen. Toby giggled, "That was funny....thank you Mr. John....Mi~ I mean Jade..." he would say, smiling to them both.

The waiter would reach out his hand, "Then I am terribly sorry about that, we strive for perfection, but as I can see....not all things are. Mind if I take the Fork young man?" he would ask, and Toby would reach out and hand it to the man, then watched as he he walked away back towards the kitchen. Toby giggled, "That was funny....thank you Mr. John....Mi~ I mean Jade..." he would say, smiling to them both.

He would look at the pepper shaker, concentrated a bit, and it would soon lift up and float over to his plate, sprinkling a bit of pepper onto the few crumbs he had left, then floated back to its original spot. He would look at it for a moment, "It gets easier to do that....every time I move something..." he muttered.

He would turn to the flowers he glanced at earlier, thinking, the flowers would begins to sway, as if caught in a breeze. A little girl in the table near the flowers began to giggle some, taking note in the flowers as her parents sat in confusion. Toby would look down, then back up at the other two. He smiled, then took a deep breath, trying to relax his excitement.

Toby, with no response to what Jade had done, suddenly grabbed his head, without warning, almost everything on the table in front of him began to lift up, slowly. He began to growl softly, feeling pain inside of his head. The objects had stopped a few inches above the table, and began to twirl around. Toby started to grit his teeth, glaring at the dinner ware, trying to make it go back down without crashing. He finally let out a deep breath and the objects hit the table anyway. Toby would hang his head.

He began to growl softly, feeling pain inside of his head. The objects had stopped a few inches above the table, and began to twirl around. Toby started to grit his teeth, glaring at the dinner ware, trying to make it go back down without crashing. He finally let out a deep breath and the objects hit the table anyway. Toby would hang his head.

Jade and John were shocked. They had no idea at what had happened aside from all the objects on the table lifting. Jade and John were worried. Jade the most. "Toby is everything ok? What happened are you ok?"

The same waiter as before came rushing over, "I am sorry, is everything ok?" he would ask, knowing something was going on at this table. "Two orphanages?" John was shocked, but he trusted Jade, and knew that her course of her actions would be right for Toby.

Jade bit her lip. She held Toby closer, she was not going to let him go back with that vile woman. "Trying to suppress the ability, would only be like bottling a thunderstorm. Sure you can stop if for a while, but it soon releases. I am going to help Toby, whether you like it or not. I have this "curse" as you call it, It takes time to control it. That is what he needs, not some medicine to help him suppress it."
