At this, Everett staid calm, although he secretly bit his lip on the other side so the others wouldn't see. He was catching on to what the dingo wanted now, but still, he was not fully sure.

"Ah... But a movie would surely put us over on time, and you would miss your show." He said, a little happy about the slight control he had. "A simple dinner with a friend, and... A kid, will be fine to make it up to me. No need to see a movie afterwords anyways." Everett said, chuckling in his mind as he slightly taunted Scott.

Airi's tail started swishing a little faster, the white-furred vixen straightening up slightly in Scott's lap.  "We're gonna see a movie after?  I love movies!" she happily exclaimed.

Everett shook his head. "First of all, little Missy, we wouldn't have any time for it." He started, knowing that seeing one would make Scott late. "And second, who ever said the offer was for you?" He said, sticking his tongue out playfully at her.

"Wellll," she began, not seeing his tongue but knowing by the tone of his voice--as slight as it was--that he was only playing around, Airi said, "if I'm invited to dinner and then we're going to the movies after, doesn't it only make sense that I'd be able to go?"

"You know, you are a sweet girl." Everett mentioned first, to make what he was going to say next a bit easier. "But you need to realize, inviting yourself to things like that all the time can really get in the way of what people might have wanted to do alone with someone else. Do you understand?" He asked as a suggestion, trying not to sound like he was implying anything.

Everett chuckled. "Scott said you could go to the dinner, -after- you invited yourself." He started, and only chuckled more at the second comment. "Kiss Scott? Please. Maybe there are things we just want to talk man-to-man about." He then grew a sly grin at her. "And with the way you have taken a liking to him, I would think you want to kiss him." He playfully teased back.

Blushing, Airi waved him away, giggling quietly to herself.  "You're just jealous 'cause he wouldn't mind me kissing him~" she teased playfully.

The hybrid rolled his eyes as he looked back at Airi. "Well, I don't think Scott is the kind of person who would want me kissing him." He first started with a tease. "And by your blushing, I think I am not the jealous, or heart stricken one."

'Darn he's good.'

"Oh fine, you win this time...But next time," she continued on as if she were the rightful winner anyway, "just tell me when you don't want to be with me, 'kay?"

Guest Mr. Mario

'If I would've known better, I would rather go to a beach.' Walter thought while reading a article in the newspaper. Nothing seemed to have gotten his attention that was anything treasure-related, ever since his last journey to Sauria for a artifact, there was no other temple to explore or yet find some treasure.

He then grabbed some whisky and drank a little bit of it, he then sighed and looked over at a map that was near a shop...

'I wonder if this place has gotten any gambling to do, I feel like playing some cards now.' He thought and letted out a slight grin to himself. He got up out of the chair and decided to take the bottles of whisky with him while heading to a bathroom.

Well... I kinda don't want you there for the dinner at all, really... But eh... He thought, thinking his thoughts for the most part were safe.

"Alright, so long as you make sure to not jump the gun on the invitation train." Everett added, wanting to make sure she knew that in the end doing it is not a good thing.

Yet more insults fired her way.  First she was apparently cross-eyed--so he said, but that was a lie--then he didn't like how she was telepathic.  Now here he is thinking that he didn't want her there at all.  Crossing her arms, she let out a little 'hmph', turning her head away.  Scott was her friend.  Everett, apparently, was not.

Seeing this, Everett's seriousness was broken as he saw what the little vixen was doing.

"Airi! What did I do?!" He exclaimed, not realizing she was rudely intruding his private space by reading his thoughts.

"Nothing." she replied haughtily, not turning back.  "Maybe I just don't like that you don't like me, Everett."

Everett was shocked at this.

...But... But what did I do?! He again thought unconsciously. He had dedicated the last three years of his life defending kids and innocents from people. Now, for some reason, he somehow gave the little kid the idea that he didn't like her. It broke the idea of his being, and hurt him.

"Where the heck did you get that idea?! Not once did I ever say that!" He responded, the serious attitude all gone.

"Maybe you didn't -say- it," she began, "but you sure acted like it.  Admit it--You don't like me."

What does she mean by-... He stopped thinking. He now had a huge impression as to how she might have got that impression, and now started being careful.

"Well... You are a smart young girl." He started. "Although, you are completely, and utterly wrong."

Now... If you truly can hear me, tell me why you think I hate you. Is it because I would rather the dinner be just between me and Scott? Everett asked her mentally. I have no problem explaining any of my reasoning, so long as you can be honest on why you think I hate you.

Noticing now that his thoughts were actually directed towards her, Airi strengthened her mental link on the hybrid.  'Because you said so!  You said, and I quote, "I kinda don't want you there for the dinner at all, really".  What else could that mean?'  From her standpoint, that could mean a few things, but only one seemed blatantly obvious--He disliked her.  After all, he showed dislike when she first revealed that she was a telepath.  It only made sense.

No! Gah... He started his thought, not wanting anything to be said wrong. So what did he do? He closed his eyes, and took a small moment to think over things privately, and calm down.

Alright. I did say that. Everett then again started. Do you know why? Because I have not had the chance to go eat a dinner like that with anyone, especially with any so called 'friends' I don't have much of, in a long time. It meant a lot to me in general when he offered it, and I am sorry I simply didn't want you there. I am sorry for wanting things as well as you. He explained.

'So you wanted to go out with a friend?  Why not two friends?' she asked. 'Unless you don't consider me a friend, Everett...'

Airi.... he started in thought. Look, believe me... It is no way you... You just wanted to have fun with others, right? He inquired. Everett knew he could turn this around. Was all a simple method of self encouragement. He just needed to help push Airi into it herself, seeing as she already had the wrong impression of him. Not much less of a confession, if Everett even had anything to confess, to get this better.

'Mm-hmm...I-I just wanted to go out and eat with you two, you know?  What's wrong with that?' she asked through her thoughts, sounding more upset now than angry.

Well, nothing. Everett started by admitting. But it is just when something so special comes up for you, and it is taken away, it makes it less, well, deserving. he finished. Although, he thought that she might not fully understand this too well. In this case, he decided to see how she might relate to this in a way. Airi... Have you ever had something... Something you really wanted in a long time, given, but then taken away soon after? He asked, feeling this might be a way to get her to relate.

'Well...I-I guess...' she mumbled in thought.  'Like when...Like when you're having a really good dream but then you suddenly wake up?'

Well... Yeah. A really, really good dream. One you thought was so nice, you wanted to actually see it all the way through, just so you could have the feeling of what it felt like after it was over. Everett explained. That sorta thing is like what this is to me. It-... It isn't everyday I am lucky enough to meet an actual friend, or feel like I might have made one that will actually stick around. He explained his point further, trying to at least make Airi understand that this was nothing against her.
