The Life of an Electrical Contractor

I arrived back in Ottawa last night. It was a short trip and I wish I could have stayed longer.

Anyways, I'm leaving for Vegas next Thursday. I'm taking Wednesday off to prepare for that and to get a whole bunch of other stuff done that's long overdue. After this Vegas trip I should be available for more TF2 nights unless things like weddings (I have two coming up this summer) or other special events get in the way.

I finished attending my cousins wedding. Even though I haven't attended a wedding in quite some time I always find that, while I'm happy for the couple getting married, I feel inadequate in that everyone around me is getting married and I still haven't found that perfect someone. These feelings are made worse by the fact that the groom has pretty much the same social, funny, and lovable personality in RL that I do. While I'm happy for him and all the attention about this positive traits he is receiving and how people were crying about how he made my cousin (the bride) and many others much better people in the last couple of years (and vice versa) I feel that I've been a failure since this hasn't happened to me yet. I don't like to compare myself to people but the similarities are too common between myself and him and I couldn't help wondering why it wasn't ME up there with another female that I've known for the last couple of years.

I'm an emotional person and I ended up having to leave the reception because I couldn't take the pain anymore, I wish my cousin and her new husband all the best and I think very highly of them but the "lack of self worth" was just too much for me to bare. I know other people (including the brides sister) feel the same way I do also. :/

I don't know if I'll be attending any more weddings in the future until after I'm married which hopefully don't be that long.

This is true, and marriage is a lot of work after all.

I'm just not ready yet I don't think. :P

Honestly. All you do is obsess over that lazer quest. :P

Seriously though. As a none drinker, one thing I don't get is how "We all got drunk. Was fun" works because assuming they remember it, nothing happens.

I've never drank anything either, but from my understanding, people throw up, act weird, and have major hangovers in the morning. I can understand some people think it's entertaining to be dumb and stuff, but drinking isn't really good for you...

That doesn't happen all the time, it really depends on the person drinking. Most people to my knowledge remember the events of the previous day when passed out. Excessive drinking isn't good for you on a regular basis for sure but it's fine if you do it once in a blue moon. It's more fun with friends and in the proper surrounding, like The Strip in Vegas for example.

As for Sabre's earlier comment I don't obsess over competitive laser tag as much as some furries do with their hitting up every furry convention on the continent just to sell their yiff and "run a business" :P

I received an offer from a teammate to play in the newly formed Michigan 2 man in Detroit in early October, I have accepted.

Also, the final details on a huge series of tournaments from April 25th - 29th over three different LQ centers in Ontario have been finalized. The main tournament being held for three days starting on the 27th (which is my birthday). This tournament is billed as the World Laser Challenge and is going to be drawing teams from Europe as well as about a dozen stacked teams from all across North America - mainly from specific regions in America. There should be a total of about 20 teams attending in total and of course there will be lots of drinking and drunk LQ players during that span - not during the tournaments of course. (Drinking is a popular side event for competitive LQ players when traveling and not actually playing.)

I am still working on getting everything organized in my new house, I really would like another job though since I'm further away from my current one. Also, I'm done with LQ in the meantime until people start actually caring again (in a month or two lol)

Whenever you do just drop me a PM and we can chill out for a while or something. I plan on later in teh years to at least try and meet the staff of SF-O if possible lol.

I have found that TF2 is getting to be the most addictive game I've ever played since Star Wars Galaxies throughout late 03 to late 05. Galaxies was the game that eventually had me vow never to play another game that would end up getting to be such a distraction ever again. It's approaching that point, and that being said I have contemplated just quitting it while I"m still ahead. Speaking of this game, I've been having problems with my internet constantly giving out on me for a period of 10-15 seconds at a time and this is always causing me to get killed or, in the case of being an engie, causing my buildings to all get destroyed when I leave the game. I had the same problem at my old place so I'm going to see if the guys can fix it.

It's also my dad's birthday today, so I've been quite busy today as a result.

So I'm looking forward this weekend and next weekend where I'll actually be seeing some of my friend for the first time since I moved almost a month ago. I'm a very social individual so not being able to see my friends for a significant length of time really affects me.

This weekend my best friend is coming down from Ottawa and I play to meet up with him a couple of fellow furries to do something on Saturday night, maybe Dave and Busters and dinner.

Labour Day weekend I'll be heading down to see Fox McCloud at his college. Apparently he's going to show me a good time on campus and at a bar or something. Either way, I'm looking forward to it. :)

So my time at Fox's dorm was a blast! We played some LQ and went out to some diner named Marks at midnight. I will for sure return some time.

In other news I have called in tech support for my intermittent Internet problem, it greatly annoys me during TF2 play but the earlier they had was Sunday. :/

Asome, but prehaps the problem lies withen in your own system. Mabye a bad wirles card mabye your

To far from router

If you're doing competitive gaming the last way you would want to play would be over wireless.

And no, I have an RJ-45 cable hooked up to my computer right from the modem. The problem I'm 99% sure is outside at a telecommunications box and a technician will have to took at it. Reason I'm so sure is because I had the exact same issues at my old place and the technician back then found that a couple of wires were cut or something due to construction (and there's more construction about my new street now than before)
