This is an idea that was pass around in the Gradius forms that I normally at, you can post your dumb, funny, or just plain stupid ways that you have died in Star Fox.

Here is mine

Star Fox(SNES)

1. Venom Surface on Path 1: After I finally beat The Phantron II, and I had no health left, I let my guard down and a missile came out nowhere hit me and caused me to lose a life.

2. Venom Air Space on Path 2: I let their ships that come out of the Mental Smasher hit me, thinking that they won't do any harm.

3.) Venom Surface on Path 2: The one with the highway, there is a point on that level when you get to halfway marker and so I went right for it, but I didn't know at the time, that there is block that will come down a hit you. You guest it, I hit by it and lost a life.

I will post more.

SNES:

Venom's surface, Route 3, The Great Commander in form #2 and I were battling...I had him down to almost NO health left, unfortunately, so did I.  I dodged the ball and chain attack, but not the missile that came outta nowhere.

Adventures:

Dark Ice Mines, you know where the Ice Balls roll out of the mine tunnel, down that outside gully?  I ran down the track, and to the open trapdoor where the ice balls went, and jumped int that trap door, thinking it could take me to another area, or that it was a secret entrance.  Nope.  I fell down and died. :P

Assault:

The Aparoid Queen and I fought, I blasted her at the same time she hit me with her green ray attack, and we both died.

Command:

Ran out of fuel at the almost end of the mission.

I done that before.

Here is another one from Star Fox(SNES)

Fourtuna(sp?) Flying right into the huge flowers in the being of the level, despite the fact the game slows down at that point.

Assault, getting ran over by the Landmaster while you get out.

Assault:

Backstepping to avoid being ran over by the standard and vehicular Aparoids on Sauria, then falling off a waterfall since I didn't know where I was at the time (This was when I FIRST got the game!)

Adventures:

Jumping off the highest ledge inside the Krazoa palace and hitting the floor on the VERY BOTTOM when I had like...  Errr, I don't know...  1/4 of my health left on the LAST health chunk.

Command:

Getting killed by that Octoman guy on Venom whenever you played ANY of the selectable characters during the last mission.  GOD, that annoyed the HELL outta me!!!

Andross on the hardest route. 1 life left. JUST ABOUT TO BEAT HIM, exposed that square brain of his for the final time. I get hit by a stray plasma bolt. I die, GAME OVER................ I was PISSED that day!

Adventures:

Cloudrunner Fortress. I was sneaking around the edge getting to the treasure rooms, my controller messed up and he walked right over the edge, not jumped, walked.

Assault:

The Aparoid Queen and I fought, I blasted her at the same time she hit me with her green ray attack, and we both died.

Did that too.

Command:

Same as above, but against the final Anglar Emperor.

SNES:

Well, when I got trapped in the "Out of this Dimension" level, after beating the slot machine and shooting "The End" 1,000,0000 times, I just let the enemies kill off my Arwing so I could start the game over.

Corneria on Assault on the Gold difficulty level.

I had my sniper rife out and I was getting charged by dozens of enemies. Rather than switching weapons, I backed up out of instinct. Right over the cliff -_-

SF 64:

When I first started playing the game, I was trying to take out every single enemy. For whatever reason, at the time, it wasn't apparent to me that in a plane, you could fly OVER obstacles. Just kept running into stuff. I couldn't get past Corneria for 2 days...LOL. From that day forward, realized I wasn't going to become a fighter pilot

Adventures:

Missing a ledge that you needed to grab on to after first meeting up with Tricky....fell into a lava pool, and was forced to sit there waiting for my health to hit zero. I proceded to use a Ba-(whatever that thing is called thing) and revived myself...while I was still in the lava pool...watched myself die again.

Assault:

Sauria, Gold Level: I missed the final target that was located on the side of the waterfall at the edge that everyone always falls over, tried to hover in the tank but ran out of energy and fell into nothing-ness....

SNES: I rode the whole game on one life until I hit Andross, then I managed to SOMEHOW get eaten every time. It was my first time so I thought "how do I not die?" little did I know that...

Star Fox 64: Brakes have a purpose. This was the high point of my aerodynamic performance in game, which hasnt dropped yet. So, I managed to get to Venom, until I realized " wait, theres a whole nother side. Why arent I going there?" This is when I learned...

Assault: The guide is key. Bought it, still have it. But man is the final boss hard! I was on my past smidget of pife trying to kill the queen. Only one more shot... "FOX! I need some help!" So naturally I help and die.

SNES: On the first level, there is a hidden nova bomb behind some giant metal block, and I somehow got lodged between that and another metal thing, and screwed the game up for some reason.

64: beating Andross on hard, then having a stray shot hit me before he died.

Adventures: Coconuts and heights don't mix well.

Assault: Having two Fox characters in multiplayer proved bad as I hit myself with a missile launcher thinking I was the enemy

Assault multiplayer on Titania. I was running across one of the upper levels as my friend was walking out of a cave. He let go of the blaster charge he had, and I just randomly happened to jump at that moment. It hit and killed me. :(

EDIT: No, wait. Multiplayer again on Katina. I was on the ground, and I looked up to see the bottom of a landmaster. My friend (same one) drove it off the side of a building and landed on me.

one instance..which was hilarious as it was frustrating. in 64 it was on the hard path where you face off against Star Wolf in the Wolfen II.  Down the LAST pilot, on the last bit of health.  and what happens? Peppy crashes into me causing me to die as he yells "Watch where you're flying!". and when i blow up he radios again ironically being the one going "NOOO!"

Adventures..Only died once because of poor timing while on the damned torture pole in Lightfoot village due to poor timing with the cloudrunner's flame breath.

Assault..Can't really recall anything.

  • 1 month later...

SNES:

It was my first time I got into "out of this dimension". Not only the music made me laugh or the enemies, the background always hitted my weak spot more than anything else! Anyway. Boss fight with the slot machine. Always died on it until my last life. Beated the Slot machine... got killed by THE END. Thanks, game! Oh, and I always got killed by the buildings in Corneria after I started to play this game.

N64:

I guess the BARREL ROLL!! can't help if one of your teammates is flying directly into your Arwing. It was on Fichina, trying to take out Star Wolf. Leon, Andrew and Pigma were gone, only Wolf needed to get down. Didn't had much time left and was nearly dead, and Falco or someone else of my teammates hadn't better things to do but fly into my Arwing. No window popped up so I can't say who killed me, I was just very angry because Wolf only needed 1 hit!

Assault:

Nothing much to say, I died in Corneria for hesitate to shoot one of those targets, got killed in Asteroid Belt way too often, and last but not least the Aparoid tunnel that leads to the queen. I still can't stand this purple colour they used for this level!
