evilwaffles
Wow... so much has changed, so much has happened and so much I've missed in my time away. Okay, the reason I left for so long which some of you may have wondered (not many though, lol) I have had my final exams over the past few months, basically what my school does is have two sets of practice exams before the main exams which determine a score that allocates what courses you can take at university/college. I studied my ass off for those exams, I completely bombed out on the first set, thank god they weren't counted towards out grade, turns out I studied all the wrong things. Anyway when the second round came along I got 69.5% or higher for them, those were close to the same questions we got in the final exams, so I studies the hell out of those questions (those of what I could remember) and i managed to just scrape the bottom of the barrel for A's in my finals. I got an offer from a university I apllied for telling me I have an interview with them a week from now, and that is very good news, game art and programming here I come!I occasionally checked up here and other sites where I'm active, I caught a little whisper saying that I had run off with a rebellion or cult of some sorts! Let me clarrify now that there was never any rebellion or cult that I was apart of. Over the time that I've been absent I've picked up a few new games and 'toys' to waste time with. Most importantly I got myself a brand new gaming computer! The first thing I did was boot up Starcraft 2 and play that on Ultra video settings... very, very, very impressive. I am still playing the hell out of that game and frustrating many, many players in the SEA servers, I'm going to move to the NA servers soon and see if those players are better. I was really annoyed when I didn't get put in the diamond or platnium league, although one of the top gold servers suits me just fine I picked up the orange box from my local EB Games store for $10, my second game for the PC. I passed Half Life 2 just recently, I didn't play Half Life 1 so I'm not sure if I missed something but what the hell was up with the ending?! SPOILER: Why the hell did the explosion just stop and out of no where some business guy just walk out as if he's some god?/Spoiler I'm going to play the other episodes and see if it makes any sense then.I picked up my much awaited Fallout New Vegas colletors edition for my PS3, to be honest I'm dissappointed, there are so many bugs it isn't funny, my frame rate drops to like 1fps everynow and then for no apparent reason. Ugh... I didn't expect the game to be bug free but come on... there is an acceptable limit...I picked up a regular version of Medal of Honor for my PC, I quickly traded it in. The single player was so frustrating, not a good frustrating but a bad frustrating, I like games that frustrate me in a good way but this game just annoyed the hell out of me. Then I tried multiplayer... that was appsolutely crap... seems like DICE just made Battlefeild's multiplayer even worse...I started playing WoW again, I'm a sucker for MMORPG games. Got my Night Elf priest to level 74 and I've still got 10 days left on my free month, I have no life Anyone who plays either WoW or SC2 pm me your real ID and I'll add you I just finished downloading Team Fortress 2 so I'm hoping it is worth all the hype that you guys have made it up to be, I'm going to give it a shot in a few minutes.Signing off, ~Waffles. (and ps playu half-life2 episode 1 and 2)What is Garry's Mod, from what I'm told it is a fps sandbox game. I just finished downloading Half Life 2 Episode 1. If you want and are ok with spoilers, I can explain that part about Half-life for you here. Ep1 nor 2 is going to explain it better either... But Trust me the Experience is quite a ride!I'll play the episodes first and if that doesn't explain it then I'll definetly be asking you.Tf2 became Very addicting for me, despite that i sucked The feel of the Gameplay made me want to keep coming back for more. Its Darkened for me a bit though do to alot of the new weapons and upgraded newbs. But Then again not all gamers are the same are they? I'm really fond of the sniper and heavy class, what is it about this game that makes it so fun and appealing? I'm just getting up to speed with the classes and I'll be playing on the SF-O server showing you some leet skills. On some side news I'm resuming on writing chapters on my Fan-Fic from popular request from friends. :)
Milkyway64
Porbably the modable out of the games availible on steam, Seeing as the premise of the game IS modding (it's in the title ffs) I'd hope so. :P
evilwaffles
Well I hit level 80 in WoW a couple of days ago, lucky I got a friend in a good guild who is helping me get tier 10 from justice emblems. Almost ready to do 10 man ICC full runs Other than that I just got a letter in the mail today, I opened it up and turns out I've been accepted to study games art and design at university next year! I'm very very very excited for the experience.I haven't really done much so that's the update I have for today/the week/year.
evilwaffles
Time for my little review on Fallout New Vegas, a game I have long awaited ever since I first played Fallout 3 a couple of years ago.I finally get home after I finished work with my collectors edition of Fallout New Vegas, I was so excited to play it, I pull out the box to quickly see what was inside, I had a couple of poker chips, a set of cards with New Vegas characters on it, I got a behind the scenes DVD and a platinum chip. I grab my code for my classic pack and start downloading the patch for it. While I waited I read the comic that sets up the events before the start of New Vegas, centred around Benny and the Great Khans. When the download finished I loaded up the game. With the collectors edition out of the way, now for the review. You start the game with a pretty awesome pre-rendered cinematic which excited me, it set the bar high right at the start. I'll start with what I liked: ~ Aim down the sights.Thank you, that was one of the things that annoyed me about Fallout 3, zoom in aiming just felt like lazy work to me, now with this I can crouch, aim and shoot those damned Geckos a mile off (If you are good enough with the sights that is).~ Hardcore ModeThe single best improvement made from Fallout 3. It now feels like a survival RPG now, you have to eat, drink and sleep to stay alive. Stimpacks heal over time now, about time, playing Fallout 3 with you Medicine skill at 100, even on very hard, was too easy and not to forget that you now need Doctor's Bags to heal broken limbs instead of injecting a stimpack directly to the damaged limb. Ammo now has weight, not much though, you hardly notice it. I love this mode, makes fighting a group of Legion warriors troublesome.~ ModifyingI don't use this too often but it is a nice addition, you can now modify weapons and ammunition to suit your preference. Armour piercing bullets, silencers, scopes and more.~ GeckosI love those things, they look hilarious when they are running at you.Now here are some of the things I don't like about this game:~ The BugsThe single biggest turn off about this game, I was expecting bugs in the game, hell it's Fallout, I would be shocked if there weren't bugs but New Vegas was just too far. At the very start of the game, when you're talking to the doc' his head spun 360 degrees! A bug at the start of the game is not a good sign. Another example is I go to hand in a quest, I'm at the coordinates that the game tells me, no quest giver, turns out he was right under my feet... beneath the ground... The game freezes all the time, usually when it is most inconvenient, like when I've spent 30 minutes walking across the wasteland, or when I just won 10,000 chips from 40 minutes gambling at the casinos. I got up to New Vegas and with no outside interference from me or any other person/application the data corrupts... I will be in the middle of an NCR encampment when for no reason the game decides to pull my gun out and start shooting resulting in the NCR attacking me. My biggest annoyance is that for no reason, the frame rate will shit itself andfall down to around 2-10 fps... not good when you're in a small room alone. I downloaded the patch which apparently was meant to fix a majority of these bugs... it didn't... I did some research and it wasn't just me, it was happening on all consoles, all reorder bonuses and both hardcore and regular mode. This turns me off of what is an enjoyable game.~ Plot (Spoilers)I'm in no way saying the plot was bad, it was good but not what I had hoped. Fallout 3 had set the bar so high with plot, there are a lot of twists and turns I didn't see coming, your Dad dying, Eden being a robot, Vault 101 not being your home and it had a really good ending with you either dying/put into a coma (depending on if you got the expansions) or having Sarah killed/incapacitated. New Vegas felt bland in comparison, a guy attempts to kill you, you go to New Vegas and get vengeance (depending on the path you take) and get a platinum chip and it determines who rules New Vegas then you fight for hoover dam. The plot was good but it felt bland in comparison to what Fallout 3 had set, maybe I'm just being uptight about it but that's just my opinion.Overall, Fallout New Vegas is a very fun game to play when it works, but the bugs and glitches overshadow what is great about the game.My score for this game is 6.5/10 simply because of the incredable amount of bug/glitches. Scott7
Yeah... I still have yet to play much of the game, It looks good but I just don't have that old 'urge' to play it like i did when still playing Fallout 3 (which lasted for a year). I've been a bit preoccupied anyway, But I think after alot of use the System I had was the problem when i still used the PS3 version. If you played 3 as much as I have you wouldn't find it very surprising that Bugs like those would happen...When the Pitt Addon cam out i was Really looking forward to getting that special pistol on a corpse in the steel yard that I've Read about on the Fallout Wiki, only to find that the Body spawns and falls under the ground making it impossible to obtain... Guess Its a good thing i could just use console commands in the PC version to get it though...
evilwaffles
I started playing Starcraft 2 with my buddy in the states, he told me to join the NEA servers for a while just to feel what it was like to play in a different server. I played the five placement matches in 2v2, I held nothing back and seeing some of the reactions of the new players was amusing, we even got a death threat :<Five games later playing as my buddies the Protoss and my friend playing as the Terran, somehow winning by pulling the stupid Immortal and V-Ray startagy that should never work and my friend just spamming Marines, Maraurders and Medivacs which is owned by a lot of things, that is a real n00b stratagy, we were winning in under 6 minutes just noting, we finish the fifth game and this message pops upMy reaction was 'WTF how does this happen?!' I didn't believe it seeing as the highest I have gotten in 2v2 ever before is diamond league in the 2v2 SEA servers. I decided to discover what it was like to play with the big boys in 2v2 Platinum... not fun if you are playing with a n00b who takes too long to pump out a simple thor/viking combo. Needless to say I will be sticking to my friends on the 2v2 SEA servers until my friend can manage to get his combos right, we still do 3v3 because we purpously got into the bronze league so we could pwn some n00bs.***Started playing Team Fortress 2 again, I'm getting really good at the Heavy, Sniper and Spy, I guess all this time playing Black Ops on my PC is really helping me get the hang of shooters on the PC, me being traditionally a console player. I love the reactions people give when I backstab them as a spy after I manage to sneak into their base, then get messages from raging engineers. Speaking of Valve games, I just finished Half Life episode 1, still no idea just what the hell is up with The G Man, I guess I should really play Half life 1 huh? That's it for now.
