Fire Yoshi
My 4th generation IPod recently went kaput and after doing some research I am considering of picking up an Ipod Touch when I head to Detroit in a couple of weeks. Anyone have a Touch who can give me feedback? You knew I'd reply to this, didn't you? Anyway, the touch is a wondrous device. It's like a pocket sized computer, so you can check your email, play games and all that jazz. Performance wise, it's decent. It can be good, but it tends to lag. If you use it all the time, the wi-fi on it seems to wear out, making the connection to your wireless network suck. The keys on the touch are pretty small too. So if you're a fast texter/typer, then you'll probably find yourself pressing the wrong key by accident quite often, especially if you have big fingers like me. The auto spelling corrector sucks on it too, because it often likes to replace words that you type with words that you didn't actually want...it's very annoying.Overall, I say get one, it makes for a nice backup PC. It's a very awesome device, just be cautious with some of the flaws that haven't been fixed yet.
Eagle Kammback
I have a third gen touch, works great for me, just make sure to get a tough rubber case for it.16 gigs, I filled it up quickly, I think it only has a little more than 14 gigs available for music storage though

Shinigami
Never going to risk jailbreaking. got all the stuff I need on it already. And yes, iPod Touch for the win since it has all the awesome stuff. mine's a 3rd gen, so there isn't a camera but honestly, don't really care. getting an iPhone sooner or later, anyway.oh yeah. if you like to put tons of stuff on it, go for the 32 gb. pricey, but well worth it. ThePointingMan
Ipod touches are great, I won a free one from my youth group, but there are some risks, with the way the headphone jack was built it wears down and eventually the left headphone will stop working, some people are lucky enough not to have this, but me and some of my friends have had this happen, along with a variety of people on the internet. Tiberius
Really? I havent had that happen. Oh, hint, never leave the headphones in when storing it.

Sabre
You can get game dev story on it.Beynod that, iPods tend to poor quality for the money. If you want something that plays music rather then just a posing device, I've had a sony walkman MP3 player for a fraction of the price and good build quality so far. The only things wrong with mine is that the battery can't take a charge anymore, and the wi-fi seems to be wearing out on it. To wrap it up short, it's just old. ThePointingMan
Yeah, the headphone jack not working doesn't happen all the time, but its the worst if it does, also I kinda agree with saber, they are way to expensive, I'd never buy one. Sarita
Wow, are all of you Steve Jobs iMinions? For myself, I just like my iPod because it's cute, and isn't too overwhelming for what I want it for. I have a 16 GB iPod Nano 4G and I don't even use half the space on it.I previously had a Creative: Zen Vision M that has been discontinued, but still works, that I've passed on to my mother, and it's an excellent MP3/storage device (I say storage because you can format it to store documents on, without messing up your music playing abilities), it's just too clunky for my current style and tastes. But if you don't care about design and size and stuff, if you can find one, I would get one. Creative still makes MP3 players, but I can't account for their quality, because I haven't owned one of the newer ones.
Sabre
Wow, are all of you Steve Jobs iMinions?Nope. As I said, I found Sony walkmans to be better.Although, I didn't expect to hear that for you. I think if people prefer a certain brand, that isnt a problem. I believe the iThings are bad and other then a couple of games I have no reason to get one. Most people get iStuff as a fassion accessory which is what I don't like. But to call someone, joke or not, an iMinion isa something that can easily be thrown back.On a related note, a podcast about price discrimination. If you have ever bought a brand name anything, it's well worth a listen.http://www.ottawaskeptics.org/the-reality-check/62-episodes/290-the-reality-check-84-miracluin-tablets-price-discrimination-does-eating-late-cause-weight-gain

Vrance Movado
I have an 8 GB iPod Touch 2nd Gen. Its Jailbroken and I Love it. Its a inncredible piece of machinery. I am wanting to buy a 32 GB iPod4. I dont know when I will get it. Too much going on with the cars and such.
Star Fox Runner
I think that it's cool and all, with the touch screen and app support. The highest memory space on the touch is 64 gigs, and while the iPod classic's largest memory dwarfs that, that's still good enough for me.
