The argument IS the same, IE none of you furries have provided any rhyme or reason for this Krystal worship, everyone just dodges around it.

I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR ONE OF YOU TO PROVE HER WORTH. In my YEARS of doing this, not one has. It's gotten monotomous and as it stands, Krystal really does suck ( or rather, she's just nothing special/blank slate) and all her praise on a normal level is wholly undeserved. It all comes from bias because you furries get a sexual excitement from her, and if I'm wrong then at least SHOW otherwise.

There are a huge number of good, deep and engaging characters that's shown up this past decade, Krystal is NOT. ONE. OF THEM. This topic pisses me off so badly because it makes you guys seem less like human beings with opinions and thought processes and more like sexually driven robots unshakably dedicated to your cardboard sex icon. She played damsel and then occasionally babbled about thought patterns while doing nothing important, and I KNOW Command has nothing to do with it because lolyouallhatecommand.

This is exactly what I mean. there is zero backing of the statement that she isn't a total throwaway love interest with a cult following, just your word that she IS.

I dare you to say, even briefly, 3 things about Krystal that makes her "ZOMG the greatest character ever!" that also couldn't apply to all the other stock female leads. Hell, I'd even be impressed by ONE, because Krystal really IS just that boring.

Alright, I didn't continue on from before because I didn't log into SF-O for what, one or two days? Anyway, when I came back, subject appeared to be dropped, and didn't want to continue an old thing as the time seemed to of passed. Anyway, let's see if I can get at least three reasons that you may find acceptable:

1) You used this one as an acceptable reason for GLaDoS, so it should be acceptable for you in terms of Krystal. If not, well, that would make you seem, to me at least, quite the hypocrite. Anyway, the thing is, accent. I love Krystal's accent with either Estelle Ellis or Alésia Glidewell being her voice actor.

2)I love to play as her in Star Fox: Assault, because she is arguably the weakest character, and thus has the highest learning curve. I don't like to play the "overpowered" or "overused" in games most of the time.

3) And this is the biggest one for me, her eyes. I can see a rather innocent look in her eyes, and I love it when I see that captured by an artist. Doesn't matter to me if you can see it or not, but I see it, and that's enough for me. Also, and this will sound more than a little odd, but I get a little mesmerized when I look into Krystal's eyes, and start to picture things about the Star Fox universe. I can almost tell what Cerinia was like.

Don't really care if you agree with these reasons or not, but I find them more than acceptable for Krystal to be a great character, and actually my favourite.

But there's three reasons why I like Krystal, and not a single one of them are sexually orientated. So on that part, your argument is invalid, so...

Oh, and about this...

GLaDoS was a homicidal AI that also happened to be clever, funny, and a bit creepy. Again, she was a lot of the reason Portal is so memorable, she's pretty much the face and heart of the game.

Of course GLaDoS is the face and heart of Portal, there's two characters, three if you count the turrets, four if you want to count the Companion Cube. Chell is voiceless and has absolutely no backstory. And I personally don't find it that clever considering five minutes into the game I already knew it was going to try and kill me. I still love GLaDoS though, but not as much as I love Krystal (yes, I said I love Krystal, but I am not in love with her, and there is a big difference between the two). Nor am I saying  that you're wrong for liking GLaDoS, or have ulterior reasons, just that I find it funny you say Krystal is a personality-lacking character, and then set GLaDoS up as a better alternative.

Point out where I ever said Glados's accent was a reason for her being a good character. It's a cosmetic. Krystal's accent is fake British, so Wesker is on your list now too?

I Wanna Be the Guy is now the best platformer ever because it challenges you more than any Mario game and has a high learning curve. And besides, we're talking about CHARACTER. As in, that life that makes the modern character different that the square you played as in many Atari games. This has nothing to do with Krystal's characters, as those stats may very well belong to Slippy.

It's cheesy dialogue from an infatuated TEENAGER.

Ok, I was apparently seeing things on this one, but doesn't change the fact I like her accent/voice. I don't give a flying fuck at a rolling donut if you consider that an appreciable quality for liking a character, that's one reason I like Krystal and you don't. Also, since you apparently missed it...

Speaking of Resident Evil, how could I forget this, pre-Resident Evil 5 Albert Wesker.

The things you listed as why are opinions. I don't find it to be clever or creepy, I find it to be funny, but that's still opinion. Take those out, and look at its backstory:

Replace bewbs with other attractive features you listed, then. Particularly voice and eyes. Focussing specifically on my "nonsexual" statement only goes so far, it does nothing for her worth as a character. As for Wesker, I did miss that, but he didn't always have his accent pre RE5, only his more recent appearances. That said, there should be more than voice, because then you're a fan of the VA more than you are the character.

This also has little to do with the character themselves. Richter Belmont is my favorite playable character in Castlevania Portrait of Ruin because he's SO FAST PACED and it's never NOT a blast running around and short jumping whips. Does this mean Richter is in the running for my "best character ever" list? No, because it's not Richter I like, it's how much fun I have playing as him, creating a similar situation to the character/voice actor point above.

And of course it's personal experience and opinion. It's what I think the best character added in the decade of 2000-2010. Your opinion of GLaDoS being a good character is also opinion. Opinion is well complimented by evidence and points to back it up. Krystal fans seem to have none (although props to you, you're trying.) whereas GLaDos has a few, and her popularity also reflects this. She's got a lot going for her left a lasting impact on about everyone. She did this through dialogue, mood, and little things like being pleasantly homicidal. Anyone can make anything sound bad as you just did up there, look with gameinformer did to RE4. In fact, I'll try it myself:

Krystal escaped bad people who blew up her home

stormed a ship without a weapon

got rolled by someone over three times her size

spent all game silent and immobile

became a sue that still does very little for the plot of the next game

Krystal barely counts as a character, she's more like the blueprints for one. In the meantime she has NOTHING that another (better) character hasn't done better. There's still been nothing posted to change my mind. What developement has she gone through? Notable crowning moments? Sympathetical qualities (other than being a "perfect wife") or ANYTHING that makes a deep and engaging character so good?

Because fantards have tunnel vision. She's all they talk about and I'm sick of hounding this shit even in a topic where OTHER characters deserve to shine. But lo and behold, same fantards enter this topic without even THINKING about anything with actual meat on it.

SAMUS FROM OTHER M IS MORE OF A CHARACTER THAN KRYSTAL IS, and people STILL hate her. She got depth and developement, other M was devoted almost entirely to giving character to Samus. Many people didn't like it, but it's still more legit than Krystal for reasons gone into above.

K So who's my Idea of the character of the decade!!! Olimar, fighting all odds on a lost planet, Crazy awesome games, commander of a fleet of carrots. Aka I like him because I think all the games he is in are awesome.
