You're all assuming that aliens would have the same reproductive system as earth creatures. Or even DNA. And no, it's impossible to have a child with a different race. Humans have 24 chromosomes, if you have any more or any less, the procreation process fails. Thing is, different creatures have different number of cromozones, that's why it's impossible to mix genes, the reason certain half races, such as Ligers (Tiger/Lion), exist is because of an apparently equal amount of chromosomes, this however is rare, and that is among creatures of the same planet. Now add a creature from a different planet into the mix. Unless they share the same origin as us, they WILL not have the same reproductive system as us (Eg, the Dark-Nurk reproduce by feeding the queen regurgitated food and the Xenomorphes reproduce by attacking people's faces, (Which results in the new-born baby bursting out of the mother's chest)) and they WILL not have DNA.

This isn't about reproduction.

Wow! The actual subject of the topic you've posted in has once again completely sailed over your head. This is about romance, not reproduction.

That's actually the original concept. It was altered in post-production.

Jeunet was adamant about the hybrid having genitalia which resembled a mix of both male and female sexes. 20th Century Fox was uncomfortable with this, however, and even Jeunet eventually felt that "even for a Frenchman, it's too much". The genitalia were removed during post-production using digital effects techniques. The animatronic hybrid required nine puppeteers and was the most complex animatronic in the film.
