isnt it amazing how a single threat keeps an entire group of people from opening their mouths about what they feel?

Maybe, maybe not. I have spoken my mind many a time here on SFO, and not really been afraid to. For some people, yes. For others, no. Me, I simply was going to wait a little longer to really open something like this, but then two things happened. 1] This topic was made before me [Of course] & 2] I just now saw that Julius -did- actually wipe his account. I was really hoping it wasn't going to happen, but now it has, and I feel a lot more confident to speak my mind on this discussion on things that should be fixed.

Wow, just in a few weeks of me not being here. Wish I had been here to help a little.

I agree with most of what's been said in here. I like the forum just fine, but I'm not really all that active and don't get involved in all the drama that goes on so I guess I wouldn't know...

I hated that Julius turned in his RP badge, but I understood why he did so. And now I'm even more annoyed that he left.. At least he's on another site, though.

Back in '09, when I joined, I loved the forum. It was full of humor, nice people, and no arguments, especially. (That I knew of)

Julius was the nicest member I think I've ever met online, and if someone had come back from the future and told me he was going to leave a year later I wouldn't have believed him.

But hey, not just Julius, Mr. Krystal, he was another really nice member that I wouldn't have believed he would ever leave.

But really...

Other people have left, why? That's about the only question that needs asking to the...erm, "staff". If they could think to themselves, "Why?" they might find some answers hidden in all the dust, turmoil and flames that are covering the forum. Their moderating style? The way they word their replies? What they've said? Or perhaps not them at all...?

I realize this is just a forum, but it doesn't need to be this way.

Maybe if we ever get things straightened out, a few apologies might be in order, to some members that left during all this..?

I can think of many but most are either unlikely to occur or would just start more bullsh!t between certian users...

1. Administrative and moderation Improvements.

2. Work out better terms between some users and their Rp problems

3. An Addition or more Moderators both rp and or normal

But thats just 3 out of the other possible otions that I'm thinking off....

Most of us have left or have been coming less often since the Rp's were shut down over complaints from a few users who weren't even participating in them. And even after things seemed sttled they kept whinning until they got their way... Now the section is mainly dead except the few threads that remain.

That and Troll's have been making things difficult for the rest of us and I'm getting that painful feeling when I see replies similar to that of Facepunch.com, DRL's Timeclock thread was a good example...

It was really just the Active ones at the time, and no DRL Is Everything but the kind of person. The point is the Site has been bleak for some of us and the major tension's started around that Time when Our threads were locked...

DRL came looking for help and the only thing was givin were Hurtful Replies making him want to leave.

Well, the way I see it, this is being blown pretty out of proportion. There's too much here for me to respond to everything, but I'll do my best to address all the main points that've been made so far.

First, the RP section. Quit whining about it. Milky brought up a complaint, Robert and I agreed with him. We didn't agree with him because we're his friends, either, in case any of you are thinking that. Rather, we're friends because we agree on so many things. After discussion, it was agreed that changes needed to be made, and they were. If you have a problem with how it was handled, take it up with DZ.

Second: the users who have left. I was a bit harsh to Julius at first, and if he happens to read this, I am sorry about that. However, just because his views were different than some other peoples' and he left does not mean we were totally horrible to him. DRL was breaking rules with a sock puppet anyway, and I just called him out on looking for attention, at which point I debated my point coherently and he proceeded to hurl as many insults my way as possible while not responding to any of the legit points I made, so I refuse to accept blame for that incident.

Third: the issue of Milky, Robert and me trolling. No. We don't troll. When Robert said that, it was mostly in jest, and in all the cases where people have called us trolls and started pissing their pants over "flame wars," it wasn't a damned flame war. It was legitimate discussion between opposing parties. If you don't like us, fine, but don't accuse us of being something we're not.

If anyone has any issues with me personally, feel free to confront me about them now. PM or in this topic, I don't care much either way. Just come to me about it instead of all this passive-aggresive whining and making topics without actually naming any problems. If you come to me with a problem about how I behave, and are civil about it, I'll be civil in return and seriously consider what you say.

And now it seems that half the board is saying that I am mishandling things and allowing trolls to run amok. Was all of this happening in the RP board or something? I'm quite literally confused, and a bit angry, at what has just transpired here.

Instead of taking what someone says and backfiring it on them, be constructive, consult them personally, and be polite about it. Please get some common courtesy, because you really have not been showing it for the past week or so. Also, if you just don't care, why are you here anyway?

Not currently no, But Really nobody in the RP board other then 2 or 3 people wanted the place to change. Really at the moment we're saying that some more observation on replies need to be made... At least thats the kind of change i'm thinking of anyway.

I've not gotten in trouble, so the staff has obviously decided I'm not trolling. Nice try though. And I am constructive, even if I can be a bastard while I do it. Look at JCMasterman's topic in the fanfiction section; I was kind of a dick, but only because I felt I had to be. I was harsh, but I did tell him how to improve and he accepted it and took what I said into account. Why? I can't say for sure, but I assume it's because he realizes I'm not just being a douche for the hell of it.

I never even said I don't care, so I don't know where you got that from, but I can tell you why I'm here. I have several good friends who I enjoy being on a forum with. They are on this particular forum. Ergo, I am on this forum. That good enough, or must I quest for the Holy Grail before you accept me here at SF-O?

DRL brought what happened to him on himself, really. If you would take your own advice and actually look at his thread, you'll see I said one thing that could barely be construed as hostile, and he proceeded to insult the hell out of me. What happened after that was simply a domino effect, with me replying to him in a much more courteous manner than he was to me.
