DZComposer
Welcome to the Counter-Point, SFO's Debate Room. Here is where you can exercise your logical muscles and see if you can stand up to your fellow debaters. If you don't like debate, it would be best that you not read this board. If you're familiar with The Pub, it works in pretty much the same way. Here are the rules:1. Respect people's opinions. No insults.2. Leave Godwin at the door. Unnecessary Hitler/Nazi/Holocaust references are to be avoided.3. Any thread that becomes repetitive (same arguments over and over) is considered finished and will be locked.4. Don't go crazy with the image macros, please. We don't need a bunch of "PWND" or "FACEPALM" images.5. Easy on the stereotypes.6. Politics, Philosophy, and Religion still go in The Pub.Suggestions:- Learn the formal and informal logical fallacies. Knowing them makes you a stronger debater.- Learn when to bow out. This will help keep threads from getting repetitive.

Sabre
On the image macro point. Posting an image does not make you win by default. I have ran into this alot recently elsewhere. Same with quoting the heavy from TF2.Speaking of. Are posts like "Cry moar" or "Facepalm", as well as appeals to popularity or sensitivity considered thread enders, trolling, or both as they don't actually address the point? Milkyway64
"Cry moar" and "Facepalm" are generally rude and unsporting and should be reserved for special situations. But if the point was fully addressed beforehand, there's nothing THAT wrong with it.As for macros, they are no means an easy way to victory. In most situations, they serve to temper the caption/point with humor. They aren't really necessary and overuse can make them annoying, but they have their place. Why would you need to ask that?

DZComposer
Image Macros aren't against the rules entirely. I just don't want a bunch of them all over the place, hence "don't go crazy." Also, their use should be tasteful and not violate the other rules. On the image macro point. Posting an image does not make you win by default. I have ran into this alot recently elsewhere. Same with quoting the heavy from TF2.Speaking of. Are posts like "Cry moar" or "Facepalm", as well as appeals to popularity or sensitivity considered thread enders, trolling, or both as they don't actually address the point?I wouldn't call them thread-enders, but they could be a way to get into the banned from political group, which will ban you from posting in this board, if you do it in excess, especially after being told to stop.
