I've been suddenly receiving requests to come back

After my final comment addressed to Robert Monroe, I immediately put him and Milkyway64 on ignore.  I didn't want to be in such a toxic environment, so I said I won't come back with it.  And, I'm still leaning towards that.

But then I suddenly started getting lots of PMs from people asking me to come back and stay.  They told me that it doesn't matter what trolls say - they like me being here, and they either like my images or are perfectly fine with them.  Someone told me that more people want me to stay than to leave.

I just don't know if I can as long as people feel they have a blank check to harass me repeatedly without any consequences.  It's not an environment where one sticks around and enjoys themselves - it's an environment of toxic words, edginess, and having hate dished at you on a regular basis.  And, as I said before, I never came to SFO for such horseshit.  Either I come in an environment that tolerates open benign differences (and fans like myself), or I don't come back at all.  I don't wish to reward socially regressive users, but neither do I want them spitting venom at me at every turn.  I will not return to a SFO if the climate wherever I go is always going to be a verbal miasma.  It's unhealthy.

Thank you for your kind sentiments and wishing me to stay.  Maybe someday.  But not today.

Well, I can say that indeed the site has seen a serious decay,

which continued and intensified after I left. (Partly related to

me leaving, my departure however did not have as significant

impact on it).

In essense Dermot, I can say that I am all in favor for diversity

and progress, which is why your departure (as well as that of

Julius) I see as negative signs.

If you ever want to come back, I am sure you will be well received.

I was asked to stay, too, so kinda we are in a similar situation.

Perhaps you should do the same? Make a 'test run'. If everything goes

fine, then you would have a different perspective of the current situation,

For your ignore list, you might want to consider Xort. There is still some doubt in my mind that he isn't a sock puppet for Milky as he shares IP addresses and all opinions. The few times they have talked or had a disagreement almost always provides a suspisously suportive argument almost like a strawman.

Also be warry of User. Simply put, he's a friend of those 3, and the group together was nicknamed 'golden children' back during a drama on account of then being seen as never doing any wrong due to Users mod status. On the same note, avoid IM exchanges as they will attempt to bully you 'off the books', and if you do be sure to keep a copy paste record. Turns out User is paranoid and keep all IM archived, and will selectivly quote from it to make a point.

Huh, Sabre gave me good advice?  *looks*  So he did.  Thank you, Sabre.  And yeah, I don't actually expect anyone to post less Krystal here anyway.  I mean, I still can't stand Krystal, but I actually made gestures towards reconciliation and tolerance and diversity, only for Krystal fans to be absolutely horrified that I sent out general invites to anti-Krystal fans.  People can be different, and at times I'm really tired of the holy war aspect of fan divisions.  Sometimes people have to coexist in tranquil peace, even if their interests within the fandom are diametrically opposed.  If you don't like something, just move on and let it be.  I'm sure most of us have at once time been FanHaters or teetered on the brink of being one, but it really is a karmic bloodbath to dabble too much in that.  But if people post homophobia or comments derogatory to gay people, I do mash the report button.

And Sissi, you really missed my cookies?  You still have the recipe, don't you?  You can make them again and again to your heart's content!  And I know the perfect organic rich-green food coloring (chlorophyllin) that would be perfect for holiday cookies.  I don't know of a good organic red food coloring though...

Rob and Milky aint no trolls. I'd advise you to make sure you get the good points in what they say, between anything anyone finds offensive in there, theres always good advise/explanations to stuff. But hey, Welcome Back if you decide to stay!

Well, actually, it's kinda worse when someone mixes in occasional sound logic with (what at the end of the day is) abusive treatment.  A simple troll is obvious.  Haven't you ever heard the phrase "Obvious troll is obvious"?  A more advanced troll will not always seem troll-like, and may be quite bright, but still has trollish effect.  I've met many, many highly-intelligent trolls in the past, and it's the smartest ones that know how to inflict the most damage.  They sometimes reveal themselves either when they've become bored, or they've run out of ideas, or have been decisively cut off from the target(s) of their trolling.

I really miss those old days when I first came into this forum and everyone was getting along and I had an addiction to check for reply's to topic's i was in and explored... And when many of my close friends like Ris and Zero Flare were still here...

Though as much as the remaining user's (including myself) would like to see your optimistic replys again like before, I have to agree that it's a bit to early and the tensions going on reguarding certain members are just to unstable for return without conflict arising on opinions and thoughts...

If ever when things calm... I look forward to seeing your posts upon return.

Oh, I believe you...  And situations like that are horseshit.  Benign opinions should never have that much toxicity to a community.  There's a difference between "I think it" and "You must think it".  Granted, I tend to say "It is" which is a bit more ambiguous, but it doesn't mean "You must think it".  People will think whatever the hell they want to think or not want to think - mixing the idea pot itself is not a bad thing.  Not everyone is as simple-headed as Peter Griffin: "Of course I believed him.  I believe what everyone tells me anywhere."  One can't just naturally assume that every other user is going to be a Peter Griffin.

First, we're similar because we're BEST FRIENDS and we don't talk here because we do it in real life.

Second, yes, User is our friend, moreso me than the other 2. The "golden children" thing is stupid because we never claimed to do no wrong and User's mod status had nothing to do with it. You were just mad because your pessimistic argument and know-it-all philosophy wasn't, get this, absolutely correct. Take your losses like a man, and please don't encourage others to cop out much the same way.

I'm on your ignore list now, but I just can't let this go. No, you're not innocent. While Rob did go a little overboard, what he said was true. You ARE arrogant. You ARE closed minded. The fact that you hard headedly ignored everyone in the topic calmly explaining what was going on is proof of that. Exactly. We aren't trolls, and if we are, you, Dermot, are much more so for blatantly ignoring advice from everyone (including Nick and DRL) and choosing to instead play victim. No. It doesn't work like that. If there was a problem, you should listen to the cause of said problem. If you are unwilling to do that, then honestly I question the wisdom in accepting you back, as having learned nothing it'll all repeat itself.

We were very polite in the beginning, thanks. Venom did not fly until months after you stubbornly refusing to listen. This was not us "being trolls." This was us "getting fed up with a lost cause on the grounds of being human." Robert and I don't troll, and it still BAFFLES me why people think we still are. Our actions are explained by human nature and we've never intentionally caused problems. Sounds a lot like how you explain yourself, doesn't it, dermot? The difference is we're man enough to admit we've done wrong, and we don't blame it all on someone else while screaming "I'M INNOCENT!"

Optimistic? Correct me if I'm wrong, but a good chunk of his posts were ranting about homophobia that did not exist and constantly belittling Krystal fans for the same thing he does with Falco. It was not an optimistic time, not for long. Drama (that was unrelated to the KLA folk, OMG!) sprung up and things nosedived, and despite people offering him advise he ignored it and left on the thought he was victimized.

It's not even worth bringing up the passive aggressiveness toward Rob and I anymore, but it is worth saying that I'm really, really sick of it and the more I see it, the more I'm inclined to get nasty. If there's a problem, SFO, talk to me about it through PM. I -am- a reasonable person. Ask Nick. Ask DRL. You don't have to keep hiding and then not-so-subtly making it clear that you think I'm the damn appocalypse.
