Well, Russia would love to see the US fall.

Would you mind providing proof that Russia wants us to die?

To be fair though that happened because Hitler made a whole bunch of really stupid decisions (ex. Operation Barbarossa) and ended up taking on much more then he can chew and near the end of the war so many generals wanted him dead because he kept overruling them.  At the beginning of the war the Wehrmacht was kicking so much ass that at the time it was all but assured that Germany would take control of Europe but taking on too many enemies at one time was what caused Hitler's downfall and if he actually listened to his generals more (he didn't even attend the military academy) then the outcome could have been considerably different.

Also Goring, who was quite cocky, didn't do any better with some of the decisions he made (which were VERY overconfident btw) his failure to take over Britain and the Battle of Britain was a decisive turning point in the war.

Also have you seen Germany on a map. If that yours starting point in a miletery stratagy game, you'd swear it was unwinnable.

A better example of crap numbers v superior tech is 'Nam and the Colonial Zulu war. The later was spears v guns. That said, superior tech can and will win in most cases.

Blitzkrieg was also a very radical change in wartime strategy.  Many armies were completely unprepared for this kind of warfare and often had no effective response.  It worked best on flat terrain but not steppes or anything more rugged, which is one reason why invading Poland and other countries mainly on "flat land" was so easy while invading Russia was considerably more difficult (even though early on they made amazing progress)

But yeah, we're getting off topic here.

Hey at least we didn't send out a double agent into Korea who became a Korean Commando, but then his info was compromised and went on a mission to kill innocent people, where he was executed for edvience.

And yes I did just spoil Modern Warfare 2(replace Korea with Russia).

Not "to die". To fall. It is not the same thing.

I mean, Russia would love to take US "Superpower" title,

and bear it itself.

Wikileaks just released a massive dump of documents that reveal what foreign diplomats think of each other.  It looks like China has less control over North Korea then was originally thought.  Lots of other interesting things apparently as well that surprised me - like the King of Saudi Arabia calling on the U.S. to bomb Iran and how every other middle eastern country strongly dislikes or hates that same country.

As much as we want to say that NATO and the US are all powerful, they may not be. Russia and especially China are formidable opponents. China has been rapidly modernizing it's military, and having over a billion people, they have one hell of a large conscription pool.

There are very very few countries that could stand up to the US Military, but China is one of them. The US can squash the North like a bug, but I guarantee the Chinese wouldn't let that happen. Russian involvement is also possible, seeing as they have a border with the North as well, albeit a small one (~20 Miles).

I disagree. China is puting alot of its money in to deffense, but the have no offensive forces right now. even if they did march into the korean ponesuala, the US'ed take their luanch. Why? Because we have an inormiss amount of jets, that'ed destroy any Chines forces before the got to far, they aslo wouldn't be able to fight a offense war very well any way.

Also, to add to that, the U.S. has a very powerful navy, if there's a weak spot in China's military it's right there as China's navy isn't really that up to par when it comes to technology etc.  Military analysts mainly agree that if it ever came to a U.S. vs China conflict parking navy ships all around that area and launching missiles on China's eastern/south eastern coast, where the vast majority of it's population lives would be the most effective strategy.  China's advantage in raw numbers wouldn't amount to much this way.

ooo, good point. We'd also destroy alot of their agriculter. They can barely feed them selves now

Not to mention since the have taken up a market econemy the people there actually have a say, it may mean nothing. But you can bet there will be riots against the goverment if a war started.
