CrypticQuery
Hiya again everyone, to get right to the point, I've recently been in the market for a new camcorder this holiday season to replace the aging cassette-tape one I currently have. I've narrowed my selection down to the Canon Vixia HF R100 or the Panasonic HDC-SD60K. Does anyone have any past experiences with these two camcorders, or can recommend others in a similar price range?
FoxMcCloud
The Two seem good, but I would have to say the Your best option is to go with the Panasonic, its Pro's seem to outweigh the cons, but It all really comes down to your choice. Hope it helps :D

The Shaper
Well if your on a budget then get the Canon vixia and if not and you want a decent performance model then get the Panasonic. I would probably get the Panasonic but I'm in no rush for a camcorder right now. By the way, you guys ever try putting a camera in a blender? If not, click the link. (I still don't know how to rename links)
DZComposer
The Canon will most likely have the better optics, despite it's close-up focus issue, seeing as Canon is one of the major photo professional lens manufactures. If the Panasonic camera is anything like the Panasonic camera I have, getting the video out of it will be a chore, due to the gross proprietary codecs involved. I can't speak for the Canon on that, though. It is possible that it is just as bad.

After reviewing both camcorders and their features, and also taking heed to the great post(s) above, I'll probably be getting the Canon. Thankfully the Canon requires no extra drivers or codec converting to import it to my PC with Sony Vegas .
