Here it is... had to go fetch it off of ArwingLanding, I posted it there too... I'm having to go reconstruct this topic with all the stuff I posted in the past, have to hunt through other forums for the other pieces...

And for those of you who don't know, I'm Wolfen Lover from ArwingLanding.

Alright, here's the lowdown on Orbital Gate. Here's how it shoud be done.

This is written for a Gold difficulty run, but it's usable for ANY difficulty. Just remember that in the easier difficulties there are fewer missiles.

XG Fox's Orbital Gate: Incoming Walkthrough- Gold difficulty

Key to time references- minutes:seconds

The main key to getting an incredible score here is one thing, and one thing only- superlong combo. You've got to keep the combo running through the WHOLE stage to get a super score like I did, but that takes LOADS of practice, so don't expect it to come the first time.

First off, ALL HAIL THE HYPER LASERS! GRAB THESE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE and you should be able to get a better score, as they kill faster than doubles.

Second, use the enemy's formation to your advantage. You'll notice that the Aparoids tend to spread out in a line when they're a little ways out from the Gate. Use this opportunity to wave the targeter along the line of soon-to-be-vaporized Aparoids, and let loose with the A button.

When the level starts, fly forward, grab the doubles, then start blasting away as you take a left, down under the station to the small group that gathers down there, blast them, and then fly to the NORTH side of the Gate. From there, fly around and blast enemies until Slippy says help, at about the 0:20 mark in the stage. The key in being at this point encircling the station is to blast enemies while Slippy is being chased, and have Slippy come around the station under the blue leg of it to YOU, then RIGHT after you save him, check your radar for Krystal's location, then nail the boost and fly straight up to find Krystal at a high altitude over the Gate, and save her when she calls for you at the 1:00 mark. The point is, the less time you spend saving your teammates, the MORE time you have to rack up a supercombo. Basically, then shoot enemies like they were going to be gone tomorrow until the 2:00 mark in the level, when the first missiles arrive. It is a good start to have at least a 70 combo by this point for a really good score. My record number of kills by the 2:00 mark is 133, but I'm really good, and I've practiced a LOT. The key point here with the small missiles is to try and time the missiles' arrival to "Warning! Missile Approaching." What you have to do is guess when Falco says "Leave this to me, Fox! I can down it in my sleep!", and until then blast loads of enemies. Then, RIGHT BEFORE or RIGHT AFTER Falco says that, (depending on how close you are to the Gate) turn tail and nail the boost toward the missiles. He should be saying it just as you're hitting the boost possibly the second time if you left a little early to get there. Remember that they take a few seconds to breach the shield, so you've got a few seconds leeway in there somewhere. Destroy the closest missiles and leave the far ones for now. Watch your radar to make sure you get ALL of the closest ones. The key here is to let the level go through its progression as SLOWLY as possible, so you have the maximum time to blast Aparoids. So be blasting enemies while you're waiting for the farthest small missiles to come, and when the warning comes up, go destroy them. Then the second round of small missiles come. Destroy enemies as you're flying toward the missiles, don't waste time shooting, then racing to beat this group to the Gate's shield. You won't win that race. The missile on the FAR LEFT of this group is the closest to the Gate, so destroy it FIRST. After taking that missile out, let StarWolf do their job, and you do yours, blasting away at everything in sight. Wait for the warning, then destroy the 4 or 5 missiles that nobody seemed to want to shoot, so you've got to clean up. By this point it is advisable to have AT LEAST a 130 combo, 150-160 is great! By this point, my record is about a 250 combo. Next comes the three medium missiles. These move slowly enough, so fly around in the general area of the missile and blast enemies until the first one pops up the warning. Don't stray too far from the missile when blasting the enemies or you run the risk of mission failure! Fly to the front, destroy it. Then find the second one IMMEDIATELY. If you've got enough time before it pops up its warning, shoot a few more enemies in the general area. Destroy that one. Then find the third, and again, if you've got time, shoot more enemies in the general area. Then when the warning comes up, destroy it. By this point, you should have at least a 220 combo, while I've racked up about a 340 combo by now. Now its time to take down the BIG one. Here's the catch... this missile is so tough to take down on Gold when going for a high score, guys tailing you, your combo meter draining, and the threat to the Gate from the big missile. Let the missile be. Shoot enemies like never before, raising your combo faster than any other stage in Starfox Assault has seen before! When the missile is about halfway to the Orbital Gate, make a beeline for the missile, shooting enemies on your way there to keep your combo running. The missile is accompanied by a TON of enemies, so if your combo meter's down, fill it up FAST by shooting like a madman. Then boost around to the back of the missile and lay into it with your Hypers, and maybe even a bomb will do. Watch your combo meter. If it gets low, kill a few more Aparoids, then set back to work on the missile. The missile moves MUCH faster on Gold than on Bronze, so you don't have a lot of time to destroy it. Let the missile go again and kill some more. LOTS more. When ROB warns you of the missile nearing the Gate, keeping the meter filled, now set to work on the middle section, and finish it off. Again, watch the meter. If it gets low, kill some more. Then get to the front and finish it before it breaches the shield. If your combo is STILL running, (or perhaps you're on your second decently long combo), keep shooting enemies during the Mission Complete screen until the screen fades out. Level Complete.

In a nutshell, grab the doubles, and TAKE IT TO 'EM! Give them EXACTLY what they came for, to get hyper laser fried! This level is the perfect example of Aparoid blasting at its finest, Ar-Wing style.

Remember, SUPERCOMBO. You don't HAVE to have one, it just makes you look good. I've got a 506 combo, I kept the combo running throughout the ENTIRE stage... never lost it from the start.

Let's see what YOU can do!

You need a trigger finger. You're not shooting ENOUGH. Or you're taking too long, If you take TOO long, your time bonus will actually SUBTRACT points from your SCORE! Found that out on Sauria...

Also, stringing together a long combo will get you lots of points.

Bronze doesn't have a multiplier, even without it it's easy.

On Orbital Gate for example... I posted my Orbital Gate walkthrough, it's written for a Gold difficulty run, but it's MORE than good enough for Bronze. Read the whole thing, then try flying like that.

And remember, it takes PRACTICE. That score you see there is probably close to my 275-300th time on Orbital Gate!

Yeah... I tried my best on Sagrasso Hideout. I shot realy well and got many combos. But i guess I did take too long. I saw some red points being subracted... Yeah I need to work on that. I really want the bonous game Xevious.

Time bonuses are EVERYTHING on Sargasso and Sauria, they're not really big problems on Aparoid Homeworld and Katina...

I'm still trying currently to thrash this score with a 5000 barrier breaking superscore... haven't made it yet, need to get MORE THAN 106 kills within the first 2:00 of Orbital Gate, that's when the first missiles come...

Slippy needs help at 0:30 in the stage, and Krystal at 1:00. The rest of your spare time there you just blast stuff like none other...

Katina is so easy, but has many stages. That's probably why time isn't a big issue. Same sorta with the Aparoid Homeworld. It is a complicated and humongous hideout, so the time isn't too bad. Sargasso is fun... but HARD to get a good score on!

Awesome! Keep going!

The key to Fortuna (all parts before the boss battle) is Group and Blast bonuses. Get as MANY as you can, and it'll significantly raise your score.

It was so fun! I'm surprised I didn't drive my sister mad with all the shooting sounds going off 3 times every second. I had the speaker volume on so it had base sound. I want to keep going, but I'll take a break and RPG for now.

You guys are the first to see!!!!

XG Fox shatters the 5000 barrier at Orbital Gate!

The most UNBELIEVABLE run I've EVER done! I had 117 kills by the 2:00 mark in the level when the first small missiles come!!!

Which led to an AMAZING 396 combo, and actualy a faster completion time since the 4941 score!!!

WOW!!!! Awesome... the most I ever got was 4378... looks like your signature needs updated... Probably sumtin with Krystal and your high score lol... The easiest level to get gold medal on is Fichina... I tried to break 5000 there... ther best I got there is 4896....... It takes incredibly long at Saragasso but its possible to break 2000... after a while the time quits taking away from your score... then ya just gotta wait for more enimies to come in outside the base... It took me about 7-8 hours but

Saragaso High score: 2789
