LoneWolf
Well, this thread is for discussion of hackers, and what they did to your games. Just now, I went to play COD4 on my PS3, online, and I ended up on a hacked server (Noclip, hacked animations, unlimited ammo, laser sights, the works) that screwed my game, forced me to delete my saves, and subsequentially restart the campaign all over again.I read up. The PS3 version of COD4 has apparently been entirely screwed by hackers...definitely not playing online again, for the safety of my PS3 and all the saves it contains...So, what have you had happen to you? Guest Mr. Mario
During a Mario Kart DS match, people ALWAYS use the Blue Shell or the Starman to get ahead of the competition...I HATE it when it happens. :x
Matrilwood
Hackers=N00biest N00b N00bs in the land of N00bsHackers have self esteem issues, they have to change the score-board so they win, just so that they feel better about themselves.I used to use cheats to win at MechWarrior2... When I was like 8.

When I was like 8.Not always, just mostly. In MW2, some hacks are used by people who have put in so much time they want a little fun. Headshots only for example. Another way to hack is for people to unlock weapons as they don't like content being locked away from them.
Matrilwood
Yeah if you want some fun that's the whole point of the game. (If you need hacks to have fun it usually points to a very bad game) But do that on single-player where you don't ruin other people's fun, and in this case games. I like them. Multiplayer mods are fun when they're standalone, and don't mess with the main game.

The Shaper
I was playing borderlands online and I saw someone who was level 1099 (The max level is 50 or higher depending if you bought the updates or not) and he started slashing me with his knife which killed me in one shot. (To kill another player then you have to melee attack the and if they return the attack then you get into a duel with them. Of course you don't actually die in the duel but he killed me regardless.) DoctorAllosaurus
Do I even have to mention how terrible Metroid Prime: Hunters' online community is/was. Aimbots, infinite life, that one weapon that insta-kills everyone, etc.
Matrilwood
I guess that's what's good about Steam, if some-body hacks, it ends up coming out of their pocket, so they will be far less inclined to cheat at the cost of getting ALL their games banned. When they have to pay between $20-$80 to play again (Per game).
Vy'drach
Aliens vs. Predator: Nothing like invulnerability, no clipping, super speed, flight, and/or aimbots to ruin your day. Had a friend that, as good as I was at that game, I could very rarely kill, and she used a Praetorian no less. She started hacking, and lost all of her skill. I called her on it, she deactivated the hacks, and when it was uncommon for me to have a positive kill/death ratio against her when she didn't hack, I went about 25/2 after wards. One of the main reasons I left that game. The people that actually gave me a challenge became hackers, and lost all their skill.Black Hawk Down: Rarely ran into them as I played on Nova servers (Hosted by Novalogic, the creators), and they had anti-hack software and would often just monitor the games for anything suspicious. Would occasionally find 'em on there, however. Mostly it was just aimbot, nothing super obvious. Though aimbot on BHD was devastating, as all weapons are a one-shot headshot, and you can not be revived from them. Most were usually perma-banned from the game quickly. Fire Yoshi
During a Mario Kart DS match, people ALWAYS use the Blue Shell or the Starman to get ahead of the competition...I HATE it when it happens. Yeah, that game had a sh*t-load of cheaters with Action replays. That's why I played the game mostly with friends online and locally. I still say wireless, local multiplayer and system linking beats the gaboozles out of online play, fun wise.
