Sabre
Today I got stuck on a forced stealth mission. You know, those ones were you insta-fail if you are spotted, usually from a mile away, through a wall, by a guy facing the other way. Both are really bad and annoiying, but what's worse?I added other because I know some people hate underwater levels and driving levels.
CrypticQuery
Oh god, both of these mission types can be HORRENDOUS in their own ways, yet sometimes can work out nicely. It all depends on how well the developers put the mission together .I'd have to personally go with ESCORT though, usually the A.I. never seems to understand what it is supposed to be doing, and that brings many hours of frustration. Stealth is easier in the sense that once you figure out what trips the alarm or gets you spotted, you can avoid it. With escort mission's bad A.I. there is virtually no solution O_o
Kursed
UGG Escort....Alpha one the (ship your suppose to protect) is being attacked Me:yeah duh....Alpha one the (ship your suppose to protect) Is loosing hull integrity!Me:THEN GIVE ME SOME FREKEN SUPPORT!it's even worse with multiple things to escort and having to spread your forces thinner just to protect them. The Shaper
For me it depends on the situation. If it's an escort mission where your on your own the wole time with someone who can't fight and dies easily and always races ahead, then escort. Of course stealth has it's fair share of bullsh*t as well. Overall I pick escort.
Vy'drach
As long as the game mechanics are right, I actually enjoy most stealth missions. Don't like most escort missions however, unless you can tell the thing you're escorting what to do, as those can sometimes work out nicely as well. Robert Monroe
Unless the game is built around a stealth mechanic, then I usually never like stealth missions, especially in games where the primary purpose is not to stealth.
Fluxy
I completely agree with Robert on this one. I prefer Escort over stealth most of the time though.

Star Fox Runner
It varies from game to game, but overall, I would have to say stealth. I'm of the run and gun type and not very good with stealth. Now the new GoldenEye did stealth missions right. You can go the entire level without getting spotted. But this time when you get spotted, you don't get instant death raining down on you, you actually get the chance to fight back and escape, though the stealth does make it easier. The escort missions in the Rogue Squadron series weren't that bad, they were actually pretty straightforward and simple. However, the escort missions in Battalion Wars, ugh, I like that game but the escort missions were horrendous.
Robert Monroe
You guys need to play Freespace.Keyword: usually. Most action games just throw in a stealth mission to annoy you and it doesn't mesh well.

Most run and gun action games do not do this.
Kursed
i donno Robert the chance just to fly a alien fighter (even if it is badly reverse engineered) is a thrill.

ThePointingMan
I love stealth missions, especially when it's NOT insta fail, and if your spotted an impossible number of soldiers is just shipped in.Escorts like, what evs.Used to be underwater levels that got me, but I like those now... I'd say trial and error, where your going along and it's like DEAD restart, then you know what to do so you do something else and get passed it, then a second later DEAD restart and you have to do each step repetedly. It's okay sometimes, but they can be done all to wrong.
Fureox
A lot of escort missions piss me off when the personyou are escorting seemingly TRIES to die. Some can be done well, however, and those are fun.Stealth missions can be a lot of fun if done correctly. If not, they're garbage.
