Vy'drach
motion tracker wasnt overpowered; the F@cking Predators were over powered, heavy spamming, plasma caster spamming, ricochet disk spamming, arogant bastards! Those are just pathetic Yautja. I rarely used any projectile other than the spear, and did 90% of all my kills with ki'cti-pa (wristblades). Marines were near impossible to knock over as the kainde amedha, could block just as well as the other two races, if not better, has range, and motion trackers that see behind them, and takes at most six direct hits with the pulse rifle to kill someone, and that's not even taking the shotgun into effect.Marine vs. kainde amedha:Pulse Rifle:-Block claw.-Knock it down.-Put a burst in while it's completely helpless.-If multiple are coming, fire a grenade. If it doesn't kill them it knocks them down, use previous step as needed.Shotgun:-Block claw.-Knock it down.-Shoot it once. If you want insurance that it will die due to lack of faith in your accuracy, use the double barrel alternate fire.Marine vs. Yautja:Pulse Rifle:-Block ki'cti-pa.-Fire burst.-If they are using only projectiles, see tracking laser, fire burst.Shotgun:-Block ki'cti-pa.-Double barrel for guaranteed kill.-If at range, attempt to lure them in, as you have a motion tracker and will be aware of their location before they are of yours. Use above steps when necessary.-If they wont be lured in, avoid and move on, or switch to pulse rifle (which you should never drop, as it is ridiculously powerful), and use the steps listed for it above. The kainde amedha are easily the most underpowered race in that game. Their tactics are:Marine:-Attack from behind. If you do not, you will be blocked, knocked on the ground, and killed before you can even begin to stand up. Do not attempt to lunge attack marines unless you are the top of a very high ceiling as you will not knock them over, and they will knock you over themselves. But beware of the motion tracker that can see you coming from around twenty feet behind the marine, and remember when you sprint you hiss and grunt loud enough to be heard across the map. Beware of snipers as you become illuminated by the scope, and it takes at most two shots to kill you.Yautja:-Attack from behind. You can not knock over a Yautja, but they can knock you over. Your best bet is a grab, or going for two quick power attacks. They lack the motion tracker, but the hissing still comes into play. If you are lucky, he may not be in Alien vision, and may not see you if he quickly whirls around without switching to it first. If he sees you first, beware and keep moving, as his lunge can knock you over. However, due the the game's poor (as in overdone) aim assist and lack of dedicated servers, his lunge is likely to miss if you keep moving, which can line him up for a grab or power attack. Jumping and doing a power attack simultaneously often hides what you are doing until it is too late, and is a good way to dodge a disc if he tries it.Marines should not be as hard to knock over as they are, and it should take them more bullets to kill things with them (it takes like four or so direct hits to kill a Yautja, maybe six, out of an automatic that holds 99 rounds). And they definitely shouldn't be able to block. Kainde amedha are physically as strong as Yautja, and they can be blocked by the marines. Yautja are ridiculously strong, and their ki'cti-pa can slice through steel like it's wet tissue paper. Plus, just no on the 360 degree motion trackers. The kainde amedha should have nothing but buffs happen to it, such as getting the same lunge range, if not farther, than the Yautja, being harder to knock over, and not being ridiculously loud when it sprints. Yautja, their power attack should take the same time as the Aliens, their disc should be the one from AvP2, where it's slow, makes a lot of noise, is obvious through the air, and gets embedded in the first solid object besides flesh it hits. That would be a rather balanced game. But honestly though, I was speaking about the single player aspects of AvP 2010, not multiplayer. And so, by the power vested within me, this thread is back on topic... Milkyway64
The zombies from legend of Zealda: Ocarina of Time. I thought they were going to de-virginize Link! DxYou joke now, but back in the day they were horror incarnate. I still don't like them and I never ever fought them fairly until well over my fifth playthough. On the way to the sun's song, I'd walk verrrry slowly past the one on the left and from there every single time I heard the moan, I'd whip that ocarina out and attack from behind. (And yeah, walking slowly makes them ignore you for some reason. As long as Link isn't running, they don't care about you.)

Beau Skunk
The Redead's screams were a bit creepy, (not to mention what they do to Link) but I was more creeped out by the freaky-faced, falling, doomsday Moon from "Majora's Mask." Just looking up at the sky, and seeing that thing was pretty scarry back then. (Especially when it turns red on the third night.) I love that game though. KokoaMinto
Silent Hill 3 - I really love the soundtracks, but if the monsters are going to hunt you I always feel the rush to get out of this place. Though I'm 21 I'm still a bit frightened when those monsters at the beginning of the game (Mall part) appear. The monsters aren't not a big deal for me, no no, it's the music of them, this... somewhat robotic sounding noises inside of it.Zelda: Wind Waker - Re-Deads. Those things are the devil in person with their red eyes and the screaming.
Miyu
Robot Andross... when I was little. And only for a day, then when I tried to fight him myself I got over the fear real quick. Still though, he freaked me out with the way he bites things. >>;;;Redeads........ the horror.... the bane of my childhood... From OOT till WW, they always freaked me out. e___e; .. In MM not so much because watching them dance made me calm towards them.... But that insipid moaning!! And the screaming... and the fact you can't move until they get you... >.<;;;;;Hmmm.... that's about it really.

Star Fox Runner
I'm gonna be honest, one game that I found pretty creepy was Metroid Fusion. It just had this vibe to it that the other Metroid games didn't have. The dark environments, the creepy music, and the SA-X, oh god the SA-X. Not only did it have the capability to trap you and kill you on the spot. It just gave you the weird freaked out feeling that something was actively hunting you. One part that I found very creepy was the blackout when the reactor shuts down. You get stuck in an elevator and you end up having to climb around through the vent shafts with all kinds of things crawling around in them, and the eerie music that plays during that part just added to it. It really gets creepy right near the end of the game when things start wrapping up. The trek through Sector 6 night habitat to the Metroid lab discovery, learning that there were more than 10 SA-X on board, and the Ridley encounter. For a GameBoy Advance game, the game had an ambiance about it that actually made it kind of scary at points. Beau Skunk
The only times the SA-X freaked me out were when it caught sight of me, and frantically kept trying to kill me. Blasted thing is relentless! (Luckly there's some places you can hide. The SA-X cannot see through walls, even if Samus is still visible on-screen.)"EarthBound" (the game Ness comes from) is one of my favorite Nintendo games of all time, but while the game has a very cute, and comical nature about it, (the game feels like a great RPG parody, at times) but it does have it's darker/serious moments as well, regardless of the simple cute graphics style, and such. This music piece from the nightime Onett town area at the begining (and end) of the game actually kinda creeped me out a li'l bit. (But regardless, it's one of my favorite 16-bit music tracks from the game.) Give it a listen, don't be scared. It gives you a slight uneasy feeling, and some emotion with it's natural nightime sounds mixed, with police/UFO sirens, in a melodious, yet oddly lovely sound. It conveys the emotion of those scenes well. It goes to show what a good music composer Keichi Suzuki is.

Xortberg
Gather 'round, kiddos, and let Uncle Xort tell you of the scariest game he and Milkyway64 have ever experienced: Parasite Eve 2.Now, for those of you who don't know this series, the original Parasite Eve was a horror/RPG mix, so it had its moments. PE2, however, was mostly action, so it was considerably less scary - except, of course, the damned desert ghost town. Allow me to set up the scenario:You, Aya Brea, get out of your car in the middle of an abandoned town in the desert. You don't suspect anything amiss, really; it's a bit odd that nobody's around, but hey, it must be freaking hot out, so you'd stay inside too if you could help it. You explore a little bit, examining a few things here and there. Behind a window, you think someone is watching you, but on closer inspection you see it's nothing. Suddenly, you round a corner and see it. It's a creepy-ass hybrid camel/cougar/human/spawn of Satan sort of monster, and half a second after you see it, it rams your crotch at full speed. Jump scare go!Now, after fighting a particularly difficult battle against this mofo, you're paranoid as hell. It's broad daylight, the town is abandoned, and now you know why. You're low on resources, so another encounter with one of those creepy Eldritch horrors will probably kill you dead. Still, you have to explore. There's no background music, so you strain your ears for the slightest noise to betray a potential ambush. You keep checking windows, and never once see another human, though you still suspect you're being watched and followed. You go across the town and back, always uneasy when you have to go through a dark alley or pass through a brightly lit, open courtyard. Finally, you get inside a building, so you're a bit less apprehensive about being attacked out of nowhere. Eventually, you come to the one part of the building you haven't explored. It's behind a locked door, but the room you're in has all the elements of a puzzle necessary to unlock it and continue. You check a few of the ways into the next room, and it becomes apparent that whatever has been stalking you the entire time is on the other side. At this point, you're not entirely sure you even want to keep going, but you must. Slowly, reluctantly, you complete the puzzle and go through the door, finally confronting...A NORMAL DUDE! Yeah, the whole thing had you absolutely scared shitless of a normal old desert redneck, who IIRC was even injured when you found him. After that point, the game gets significantly less scary, but by God did they do a good job of making atmosphere in that one segment. Also keep in mind, this was PS1 graphics and you're exploring the town in the middle of broad daylight. Making something like that scary takes some damn talent.
