lol at the StarFox 2D formation XD

It looks good, particularly those capital ships, but I think you need to have more enemy types, including ones that come in from the side or something, and you also need to have a boss of some sort, though I assume that you've already thought of that XD.

Yeah, I'm gonna be working on this next.

I'd like to suggest, though it will be a lot more programming, that some levels are side-scrolling, just something a bit different.

dangit I wasn't gonna say this until the game was closer to being out, but I'm gonna have a few side scrolling on foot levels, and a top down free roam landmaster level. (It's like you're reading my mind or something  :lol:)

BTW, yeah I made the sprite, feel free to use it if you wish, and let me know if you'd like any more XD

dude, the sprites are the only thing I can't do, so feel free to make as many as you want. I'll use whatever you give me! (especially if you could do a barrel roll sprite for the one you already did)

Thanks! One of my buddies (his username on here is slippy, but he's only posted 5 or 6 times) has the base code for the landmaster part of this game, so I should have a test of that coming out within the next couple days (if not tonight)

no but I'm kinda teaching myself right now. I got an example of the basic movement functions, and then fabricated the other sprite changing stuff myself.

I haven't been able to do much during the past couple of weeks cause I've had a ton of tests/homework, but here's a little something I threw together tonight.

I don't quite have the timing down for the shooting, but it's almost done. After I finish the shooting, I'm going to start working on the side scroller level backgrounds and objects.

here's an update to the shooting and moving. I still have to work out the bugs when fox's head hits the ceiling, but now we can move around the level and almost shoot perfectly (I still have to increase the shooting speed)

On a side note, I fixed almost all the movement bugs. Now I'm gonna make a shoot while running sprite cause it's really annoying to have to stop to shoot all the time

You might want to add a jump and shoot sprite too, since the stand and shoot one looks unnatural while in the air.

Seems to me like someone (meaning you) is going to actually complete a fan-project game. I like what I see so far. Keep it up.

thanks man! to tell you guys the truth, I'm working really slowly on SF2D. (AKA since I've made this thread, I've only worked on this project for 5 days worth of work) I can't really take it faster right now because of school, but, seeing as I get alot done in a short amount of time, I'm hoping on having a beta out by may sometime for a select few to test. I'm hoping to have the 2d movement and shooting finished by next week sometime and the flying mechanics coded by then as well (I'm switching them from drag and drop to actual code).

So we'll see how fast I get things done, but sorry that I'm going so slowly haha

I know haha I did the intro in 3d on purpose :P I thought it was funnier that way :lol:

And I'm not technically coding this in a real language. I'm using Game Maker 8 Pro, but instead of using the drag and drop functions (no coding involved), I'm doing this all in the Game Maker language (it's a pretty simple language, but still effective)

I can barely see the lasers that Fox is shooting.

Besides that it looks pretty interesting.

yeah, Imma work on the lazers. I'm just trying to get all the movements down right now. (I don't think the lazers are even lined up with the gun when fox is in midair, so I'll hafta fix that too)
