Well, thus far, everything else together outdoes dial-up on a 4 to 1 ratio. As if I didn't have enough reasons to change, I guess I REALLY need to upgrade now...

DSL. It works, and it's not noticeably slower than cable, but it IS cheaper, so....

unfortunately I'm stuck with 56K. There is no broadband offered (at all) where I live. (well, except satellite, which I dislike greatly...plus it's really expensive for the speed you get). However, there is a strong possibility of a wireless internet tower being built about 3-5 miles away from my house, so I'll definitely be subscribing to their service once it is up and running.

Long live the 56Ker, for he hates his situation; let 56K itself die a sudden and horrible death once broadband is universal.

We're going to be switching from satellite to cable soon, and I'll be able increase my crappy 32K to broadband! :(

I may have to end up having a second edition of this poll in probably six months. Geez, it's like we all vote for what we have, and then we all upgrade!

no wifi option?

Wi-fi isn't a type of internet connection. It just connects you to your router, which connects to your ISP. The poll concerns ISPs.
