Zzz
Hey guysDon't close this thread just yet even though it looks like it's against the policy or something. Many of you know I'm working on Starfox: The Lylat WarsFor many scenes I need some references for the ships and weapons and whatnot. As you can see here, there's some drawings or models ( I really can't identify but that doesn't matter) that were never released outside the player's guides.So... could anyone please send me a pdf or something for the guides of sf64 and assault?I usually play Assault and pause/unpause to get things right but the more references I can get the better, right?I hope you can understand. Fluxy
I am not sure if asking for a seemingly torrented file is allowed in the rules of posting, as I am not sure compared to the other rules.Other than that, google helps a lot; I bet it could get you something. Fluxy
That's why I'm so desperate. I couldn't find ANYTHINGWow! That is a little shocking. Hmmmmm.... if need be, have you checked ebay for a cheep pay guide?
Zzz
Most don't ship outside the US and everything else is pretty overpriced I'd say
DZComposer
Damnit, why can't the US SFAd guide have all that juicy info? As soon as I get a scanner, the SF64 guide will be scanned and posted on the main site.
Zzz
Wow that would be awesome, man!Just a quick question there... are there any differences between the american and japanese guides apart from some info about Papetoon?
Lord Asriel
I have all the scans of the 64 Player's Guide if you want. And if you want them too DZ for that matter. Here you go: http://www.mediafire.com/?eygw48d4ctt1jmdSorry about the quality of some pics, but my scanner isn't really that great.I've been looking for it so badly too and I couldn't find it, until about 3 years ago, Kit-Karamak himself sent me his copy of it. I was so happy. :P
Zzz
WOW! YES! Thanks a lot, buddy!I did some research and I think only the japanese guide for Assault has these drawings. I'm talking about the official of course

DZComposer
If I can find that Japanese SFAs guide somewhere, I'll grab it and scan it. We'd also need someone to translate it. I can't read Japanese. I've also got a nice, juicy, Nintendo Dream article on the history of Star Fox in the SFAs issue that needs to be scanned and translated (at least I have that mag in my possession).I am jealous of AL over this. They have two people who can translate stuff over there.EDIT: Hell, I'll go to Best Buy now and grab a scanner. They've been around long enough that I can't imagine a decent one costing more than like $60. Why I don't already have one is beyond my capacity. With a little time, we'll have some high-res SF64 guide scans and Nintendo Dream scans.Other things to get to scan:Original NP issues with Itoh ComicSFAs Player's Guide (JPN)SF64 Nintendo Power article

DZComposer
Go big or go home: Scanning at xboxhueg resolution. So high, you can see the inkdots from the printer that printed it. That's 9664x12304.Of course they will be resized before being put online, but I will have these uncompressed uberscans in case they are needed for some reason. Zzz
oh god yes.the bigger the better actually. The more details I can get from the pictures the more accurate my drawings will be
DZComposer
BTW, don't expect these tonight. It takes about 10 minutes per page to get everything done right.Final web-size will be a JPEG the neighborhood of 2000x2546, around 1.5 megs a page.Raw scans are TIFF, around 9664x12304, and around 350 megs a page. DZComposer
It's madness.... Create a high-DPI scanner, and bundle shitty software that can't handle the resolution. Thank God for the GIMP.
