Your 2010 Games of the Year

As much as I don't like the idea of "One 'best' game of the last 365 days" people find it fun. Because picking 1 is tough we will have a top 3, or 10 or however many. Maybe at the end we will do a tally to see what SFOs top 10 are or something. There are 3 rules.

1- You must give at least a sentence reason as to why it's the best. This will help filter out fanboys and flavours of the month, as well as allow for disscussion.

2- Games released in 2010 ONLY (region doesn't matter). That mean no Minecraft as it went on sale in 2009 and isn't finished, and no Borderlands as the game was released in 2009 and only DLC came out in 2010.

3- You must have played the game.

So, what you got?

Guest Mr. Mario

(I kinda made this topic before but...since mine is locked, may as well give it a go...)

1. Tatsunko Vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars for Nintendo Wii.

Reason: Well, out of all the other crossover fighting games like Marvel Vs. Capcom 1 and 2, SNK Vs. Capcom and etc., I kinda liked Tatsunko Vs. Capcom the most because of the character roster (Even though it is not as big as Marvel Vs. Capcom 2...), the ultimate combos and... the endings in the game for each character. (Although I had to be slightly disappointed at Frank West's ending.)

2. Dead Rising 2.

Reason: Although the original Dead Rising suffered many problems like hard-to-read text, wasting time talking to Otis because you hung up on him while he was informing you a task and also some bad lip-syching, it was fun to play. When the sequel, Dead Rising 2 was released, I was very pleased to see some of the problems fixed, creating combo weapons was included (Despite no photography in the game...) and also, better lip-sychning and a better hero, Chuck Greene who has proven himself to be quite badass than Frank West.

3. Fallout: New Vegas

Reason: As much as I can say the gameplay is much like Fallout 3, New Vegas seems to continue the stories of my previous favorite Fallout games, the original Fallout and Fallout 2. The weapons in the game may look alot like what you would see in Fallout 3 but I've seen no problems with the game, despite the fact I have it for the Xbox 360.

Transformers: War for Cybertron

Reason: Of all the games in the series, WFC certainly lives up to its name and is very cool. It has great multiplayer experience and High Moon studios made an excellent job designing Cybertron (and the characters)

It's fun, has great story, and a very excellent multiplayer mode.

Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit

Reason: Need for Speed's nameplate hasn't been doing so well in recent times, and many of the games are sub-par to say the least.  Hot Pursuit brings back the previous joy and action of the better NFS games, all with brand new looks, style, design, and gameplay.  Attention to detail is outstanding, damage modeling is beautiful, and it's ridiculously addicting to play alone, or with friends.

I haven't gotten to play alot of this year's newest games, but I bought Super Mario Galaxy 2, and loved it lots. Haven't yet played the first SMG game, (only had a Wii for over a year now) and I normally don't like getting sequals first, but I made an exeption, because they said this one was more challenging, and features Yoshi. (And I can't turn down Yoshi!)

All I can say is, it's now my favorite 3D Mario game.

I can only speak for the wii tho, would that count?

As wii game of the year, I would nominate Monster Hunter Tri, it's addicting, there's a TON of things to do, and the game is "long" as hell , I'm already on my 80+ hour, and I haven't even completed the offline quests. It's also challenging, requires a lot of planning, and finally, it doesn't have any random waggle, unless you are using the wii remote configuration instead of the classic controller.

I wouldn't, personally, nominate SMG2, for me it just felt like a HUGE mario galaxy 1.5, the only GOOD thing I loved about the game was the last 2 green stars on that hardcore galaxy.

I agree, Monster Hunter Tri is definitely the best Wii game this year, I may only be 9 hours in, but I love what I've played.

Cave Story (WiiWare version) and Wario Ware D.I.Y. get honorable mentions, mostly because those are the only other two 2010 games I played.

This was pretty much the only new game I played in 2010. Loved it though. Great game.

Game : Mafia 2 if its 2010...

Reason : Let me just post my  steam store recommendation : (There are sine spoilers... There, I put spoiler things )

Amazing game so far, ive beaten chapter 7 and i love it. I also love robbing gun stores for ammo and robbing gas stations. I like to steal cars and crush them at the dump you find out about in a mission. Crushing cars pays about $400 depending on car. I'll crush like 3 then drive "west" (I say west because it is to the left on the map.) and go to the special gun dealer to get an epic revolver that blows the police's revolvers out of the water!

I was also going to mention another place you can get the good revolver, but to tell you exactly how to get it would reveal giving away spoilers...

-----MINOR SPOILER ALERT-----

After a certain mission you can buy revolvers and molatovs at the place where you but lockpicks.

-----MAJOR SPOILER ALERT-----

The mission that you have to beat is the one where your in prison

---BIGGEST SPOILER ALERT---

Vito's mom dies well he is in prison.

-END SPOILERS-

Message me for help / talk about game.

--I also need help on a mafia 2 style rp for GMod--
