Does this mean my psone is broken?

When I turn on my PS1 it just goes to the memory card/CD player screen and won't get past it, even though I put games in it. I bought new games for it too, and tried all my old games in it, and it doesn't work no matter what game you put in. Does this mean it's broken?

any help appreciated.

Try cleaning the sensor head, if you get crap on that thing, it defenately won't work. And if it's old dust will eventually build up on it.

try an N64 clean, open the hatch and blow on the inside really hard for a bit

Lens might be dirty.

Motor that moves the lazer might be clogged with dust or broke.

PSones are known for breaking and having weird fixes, such as one guy I know had to use the machine upside down to get it to work.

yeah, the lens is probably dirty. try cleaning it. if that doesn't work, it's probably an internal problem. if that's the case, I'm afraid I can't help you.

:lolhyst: I can't help but to laugh at that :P.

If cleaning the lens results in no fix, there might be a problem with the disc reader/laser (Unsure of proper terminology) itself.

Replacement is the easiest (and most likely cheapest) course of action. You can get into replacing motors and stuff if your into that. Checking the solder of the internal connections ect.
