DZComposer
In attempts to address the strange logout issues lately, I have changed some settings, including the names of the cookies.Due to this, most of you were probably logged-out. If you continue to get logged out after you re-login, let me know.

Milkyway64
I just hit one. I'm going to log out again and manually recheck the "always logged in" box and see if it happens again.
"User"
This would explain why I was logged out via my BB at work...
Fureox
It just happened to me. I went afk for a bit, came back, clicked the recent unread posts button, and I was signed out Lol
Sarita
Just happened to me, too, right after I read this topic, in fact. :|
DZComposer
It has become apparent that this hasn't fixed it.I'm starting to wonder if the forums are starting to trigger the procwatch system DreamHost uses. If the software uses too much resource, it will kill the process. We've been getting the crap crawled out of us by search engines and other crawler-bots lately. Not necessarily a bad thing. I like SFO being the #1 fansite that shows up for "starfox" in search engines.Anyone getting 500 internal server errors? When I can nail-down the funding for it, I will move SFO over to a VPS. VPS = no procwatch. This is one of the problems with growing. Cheap hosting becomes less usable.
Steve
I had this happen to me once this morning, but after that, I haven't had any issues. It just happened once.

DZComposer
I'm going to try turning off database sessions and see if that helps. Note that you will likely get logged out when I do this.It will mean bigger cookies from SFO, but if it works...EDIT: I found another thing to try first, so let me know if you keep getting logged out. Geo Stelar
It happens to me about once or twice last week, actually...I now always use the 1 hour sign-in time so that I will know that I will be logged out... (of course, I sign in again if I'm not leaving yet..)At least it's better than getting logged off unexpectedly...
Sarita
I would like to report that when I first open the board index when it logs me out, it shows me logged out at the top, but I can still see the Staff board and all hidden boards I'm allowed to see.Any other staff seeing similar behavior? I appear logged out, but the 'Who's Online' is clickable and most boards have the small box labeled 'new', as if I was logged in and they are topics with new replies...Any other staff seeing similar behavior?Oh wait, I'm not one of the staff...

Sarita
I encountered something interesting while I was browsing. I was actually logged in, when I went to go back a page, it told me I had exceeded my log in attempts. It did it when I hit the back button, and the Home button at the top. It even did it when I hit reply on this topic to tell you what happened. On an unrelated note, some avatars appear to be broken, mine included. Probably something to do with it being uploaded to the server.

DZComposer
I'm getting a bunch of session-related errors in the error log coming from IP addresses owned by Microsoft with no known users attached to them. I have added that range to the blocker, we'll see if this helps.
