What a strange and wonderful journey it was (I'm officially back from CA)

Been back for 3 days now, but I was busy getting situated and registering at my college.

Anyway, I had fun, and now I'm officially back. Went to Chinatown, saw Tron Legacy (great film) and True Grit (also great), got rained on for like a week straight, checked out Las Angeles, and had a horrible arrival experience because United and Continental airlines were having a merger.

So yeah, I'll be posting regularly again and attending the TF2 nights as well once more.

That's strange :x I flew Continental too and there was nothing wrong with their service because of the merger. I had problems coming through Customs in Houston, which made me miss my flight, and they were very nice about getting me on the next flight out.

Also, hi :D Glad you made it back okay.

Welcome back Robert. Good to hear you had, all in all, a nice time.

They actually already merged back in late September, you're referring to a labor disruption that they recently reached a tentative deal on.

Oh, and speaking of TF2, I actually started playing it.

The kiosk sent me to the US Airways kiosk from Continental (dont even know why). When there, the US Airways guys sent me to the UNITED kiosk, on the OTHER SIDE OF THE AIRPORT. I missed my flight, and had a very nice lady not cheated me a ride on an 8AM flight (this was at 6:30AM), I'd have been at the airport until 3PM for the next flight out.

But then the 8AM flight was frozen so I sat around doing nothing for an extra 40 minutes. When we arrived in Chicago O'Hara airport, we landed literally right when my next flight to CA took off. So there I sat around doing nothing trying to get on the 1PM flight to LAX (the most recent one, after that was a 2PM flight but I was already late and my gf was worrying for me). Thankfully I got on that fucker and arrived in LAX at 2:30 PM, 3 and a half hours late (originally was to land at 11AM).

Thankfully, this was the only bad thing about my visit.

Yeah, you really gotta watch those layover times when you buy tickets. It really sucks if you don't have enough time to get through what you need to do. ESPECIALLY if you need to go through customs like I did.

They should've done everything they could've to get you on the next available flight since the delays were their fault. When I flew to Houston, my flight was delayed 45 minutes, and they offered to help anyone that would miss connections find alternate routes before we even landed in IAH.
