Sabre
Old unfounded rumours that turned out to be false. The specifically said that they WOULDNT remake Halo 1. They want to do a whole new game outside of the canon 3 much like reach and ODST did. Few websites report that fact though due to it not making for good sensationalist headlines. You can find it out youself if you can be bothered to dig.
The Shaper
Halo combat evolved doesn't need a remake, and as Sabre said, probably won't get a remake. Even if it did, it would probably bomb as no right minded halo fan would buy a remake of an already great game.

TGearfur
Halo 1 has dated horribly.yeah it really has. really poor story presentation in the first one, along with bland gameplay. Don't get me wrong, I loved the game before Halo 2 came out, and that did allot better with the story and gameplay, plus it had online multiplayer. But I look back at Halo 1 and see what a piece of crap it was. It was great 9 years ago, but not today. I would actually support a remake of Halo 1, with better cinematic, Online play, and of course the graphics. I wouldn't pay $60 for it, but I would support it. I personally like Halo 2 the most, but that is prolly more on the fact that I have so many good memories with having XBOX lan parties with friends, sometimes having 5 different XBOXs all linked together. What I thought was cool was you could system-link between a 360 and Original Xbox which we did allot. Oh the good times we had.
Sabre
Indeed. Much like Goldeneye, it's effect on FPS makes it important, but it doesn't stand up. It has great moments, and is still better then alot of FPS games, but yeah, it's not dated well.Halo 3 and Reach are my faves. 2 always had this strange sence that something was missing. Never worked out what it was. Playing as an Elite was awesome, although I wasn't a fan of the flip flopping story.
Fire Yoshi
I would love to believe this rumor, but...you know how that is. Halo 3 would have to be my favorite Halo game, because of its mutliplayer. Halo Reach would have to be a close second, mainly because of the greatly improved Forge mode. It's just soooo much better. I mean come on, you can make your own race tracks for cryin' out loud! :D
