One of those moments..

So quite a while back I was scouring local game stores for a copy of Adventures and Assault. None of the stores around here had any copies whatsoever. I swear, I tried every Gamestop in the city it felt like.

I ended up ordering Adventures online from the other side of the country, Ohio to be exact. I got it, beat it, and was content.

As for Assault, I called around some more and found that there were 2 copies left at some far-off Gamestop in a corner somewhere. I drove all the way over there, bought it, beat it, and still play multiplayer on it with some friends.

Either way, it took a long time to get both of these games.

So the other day I take a trip to a newly opened game store called.. Gamestor.. and as soon as I walk in, on the very first shelf in the store, I see 3 copies of Adventures and 2 copies of Assault.

..

Oh, I know how that goes. I saw River City Ransom EX once in a Game Stop back in '06 but never bought it, I regret it now as I've hit up every game store I passed since then and haven't seen a single copy.

Heres another one. I found out that I was moving back to the town I was born in, and all I had on my mind was visiting my favorite game store when I got there. A few weeks later, I'm reading Kotaku and I see this: http://kotaku.com/5610499/the-castle-your-princess-is-in-has-been-seized-by-massachusetts

Yup, thats the exact store I was looking forward to going to. I bought my first console there...

Hehe, remember going to Best Buy and checking in the $20 game bargain bin thing just for shits and giggles, and what do I see? The most recent Turok game. I went to Wal-mart the day it came out, they didn't have it, then ran to Best Buy because I heard they get their games in on time for the release date (how it was in that city), and payed the full $60 for it. I picked up the case for the $20 one, thought back to all the N64 Turoks, and shook my head and said, "Oh how the mighty have fallen."

I remember my cousin put up a mini gaming store of his own just near my place. He has stocks of XBox and PS2 games. I didn't bother to go in there, thinking he wouldn't sell DS games.

Then next week I had to buy Star Fox Command. I ran through every store I knew, but all they had were adventures and Assault.

I gave up, until my cousin met up with me and tells me to see his DS Lite on his store

And as soon as I entered the store, I saw a bunch of DS games, including Command, on a small room behind the shelves of the home console games.

Good times...

I own all the Turoks except the GBC ones. Love that series.

Unlike the N64 games, it seems to be impossible to buy the data for GameCube games. I don't know, maybe when the 'Wii2' comes out, our retro-gamer dreams will come true. Until then, Lylat Wars for the win.

Similar thing happened to me with Assault.

I go around my local game stores (and some not so local) to no avail.

Finally find one copy at a GameStop in their fake boxes with no manual.  Hadn't seen it anywhere else so I snatched it up pronto.

2 weeks later, I return to said GS and lo and behold, Star Fox Assault in a perfect box with manual and all   k_e_rolleyes.gif

Whatev, still a great game! k_e_smile.gif
