Sabre
Big fan of the board game. Maybe you've heard of it? If not. It's a co-op board game based on the Cthulhu Mythos. If you don't know what that is google it. It has issue in that the set up takes ages, and while simple, it can get confusing in that deciding what happens when. While it takes up to 8, best played with 4 or less.Because it's a board game, the various character sheets are exactly that, card sheets. Long story short there is a character creator for the game that combines the standard template with a list of all items and a number of checks to make sure the characters remain somewhat ballenced. So, I give you a half arsed Starfox character sheet for arkham horror. If you like, I can make other characters as well as improve the presentation by doing some real effort and maybe getting the community involved. For reference, here's a pic of an official character. DoctorAllosaurus
I've always wanted to play this, its something I'll have to look into when I get back into tabletop gaming.
Vy'drach
Star Fox in the Cthulu mythos, certainly sounds like that would be interesting, except for the fact most characters in that mythos either go insane, are put out of their misery by their friends, or are devoured and/or lost to some being beyond mortal comprehension, and Krystal would likely fall into the previous, as I can't even imagine the consequences of receiving the thought patterns of an "Old one." Sabre
Indeed. But this is just a bit of fun. I doubt you would play these first game. It's a bit like replacing Alyx with Samus for your first play through of HL2. Plus there is already fan characters (and even bosses) for Ghostbusters and Sailor Moon. Unfortunatly the Ghostbusters one is quite bad.Oddly enough, the magical/religious characters in the game tend to be better at dealing with insanity. They kind of have to be given that they are exposed to it more often.
Vy'drach
Haven't played the game, so I was speaking more from the stories themselves. I don't think a telepath would stand a snowball's chance in hell when it comes to the mental patterns of some of Lovecraft's creatures. Hell, even people in the stories that had an idea of what to expect went insane at the mere sight of some of the creatures.
Sabre
That can happen in the game too, but not to the degree it happens in the stories. (I haven't read them, but going on what people have told me) and in the game it is common for players to die for the team to achieve victory. In the game using Magic costs sanity. See the way each row has a reverse underneath? In the game, going faster makes you less stealthy, relying on luck, makes you less skilled at lore ect. Fox is kind of blandy McBlanditon, but usually characters with good will (used to avoid going insane) are worse at combat, esp without weapons. It would be safe to say that Krystal would probley take up the roll of magic user (along with Peppy who would have good Lore skill) and so would likely be strong willed. Maybe if she survives the game she would kill herself then? Or at least turn into Kursed. On the subject, Falco would definatly be a fast character who starts with a motorbike.
