Okay... I'm lovin' all the harsh criticism Krystal is getting here. ^^

I love it as well...which may sound a bit strange coming from someone like me.

At this point, I'm a little more disappointed Krystal fans are making a big to-do about her joining Star Wolf... I mean joining StarWolf alone makes Krystal ten times cooler in my eyes. Suddenly, she has more balls than Falco as she just ditches the man who freed/saved her AND joins starts dating another man on StarFox's rival team. God... what a way to rip Fox's balls out, Krystal.... I sooooo love strong, female leads. haha B)

You know something, I personally wouldn't mind seeing Krystal take a direction like this. It would spice up her personality and add a more dramatic twist to the already out of sync storyline. Furthermore, Krystal being a sexy anti-hero badass I'm pretty sure would resonate well with a good chunk of the furry fandom population...if done correctly, and that's a BIG if.

Now the next step after joining Star Wolf is to mutiny and create her own squad with Panther and Leon. XD

While that last part may be a bit excessive, it helps explain why I think Krystal COULD BE awesome... if it weren't for some of her obnoxious fan base and general Command haters (though I'm not mad at the latter... heck I sympathize with Command haters). All this hate for Command in general, I hope, doesn't steer Nintendo (or who ever works on the next SF game) away from "Krystal joining StarWolf", cuz I'm lookin' for some REAL character development for that pair of useless "blue furry boobs" and I think joining Star Wolf is IT.

Besides that, [canon] Krystal just doesn't interest me... in-fact the thought of Krystal having Fox's full attention just makes me gag. Especially since Krystal is SUCH a boring character without the endings where she left StarFox for StarWolf, and I'd take Fox and Falco's "dude-bro" mercenary thing they [sorta] had going on in 64 over a boring Fox-loves-Krystal-FOREVER-MARRIEDANDWITHKIDS relationship anyday.

Subjective of course. Personally I don't think that her NOT leaving for Star Wolf would be the be all and end all concerning her personality.

But yes... Krystal can become a real strong female character and I worry the next SF game will go the "fan pleasing" route (which could be a mistake in some areas) instead of taking a risk with her character (and gameplay additions like STORY-MODE CO-OP YEEEEEEEAH).

Sex sells, same with fan pleasing material. Krystal's popularly, for better or for worse has caused a lot of people (wanted or not) to become fans of Krystal, and a high % of those end up becoming fans of Star Fox in general. Even though Nintendo isn't known for pushing a more risque agenda in it's games "unfortunately" for the more casual/true star fox fan who isn't furry for Krystal it could be a possibility if it's done RIGHT and has that right mix of romance and what not to be a good seller. Of course, all this should be secondary to an amazing game in general.

As already mentioned topics evolve over time and in this case there is no point in sticking strictly to the original topic. The topic will remain on Krystal (because it's my topic and Krystal is awesome), but slight relevant diversions will be allowed.

Not quite. Trolling is done for the express purpose of getting that sort of reaction, whereas PocketRock had other motives; namely, replying to the question posed by the topic itself.

I don't necessarily think they should go with a badass sexy anti-hero or anything like that, although it'd definitely be an improvement over what we have now. Still, that would just make the plot even more schizo than it already is. It could be done effectively without raping the little character building they've already got with her, but this is Nintendo we're talking about, so I really don't see much coming of that >_>

Instead, I think they need to focus on, instead of making her a really strong character, making her insanely weak. Not to say a damsel-in-distress sort of deal, though. More along the lines of horrible mental instability and shit. I haven't played the games myself, but from what I've gathered from discussion here on SF-O Krystal went through a horribly traumatic experience, losing her entire home planet and everyone she knew and loved, met Fox, forgot all about it, and everything was all happy and rainbows. Instead, they should really have that affect her, letting it show in her relationships and shit that she's horribly afraid of losing everyone else she's come to love, to the point of absolute insanity at times. Something like that would be damned interesting.

Although, pulling the same card as I did on the 'sexy anti-hero' pitch, this is Nintendo. That might be expecting a bit much of them.

I don't want Krystal to become an unfeeling heart breaker. No. The goal of my post was to see Krystal find a new role she could play (so to speak), a role where she can garner more respect for herself AND from others. I apologize for hurting any feelings there, but Krystal (as I see it) should be able to fall into other (newer) roles than the current ones given to her. You... kinda jumped the gun on that one man. I'm a very friendly guy, trying to have a deep discussion, not an argument. I guess my language was more "out-of-left-field" than I intended, which caught you, Sluggsnipa, and others off-guard (which is also why I'm guessing you were expecting a troll or a flame war to start). What she needs is a developer who's willing to lay down a personality for her rather than just treat her as the token "chick character" and leave her at that and nothing more. And then we need subsequent games to adhere to this set personality instead of going off in their own direction.

I think Command got a decent start on this. We've seen in the past that she can be very caring, but Command shows that once that trust is lost, she can become a nightmare, and that trust can be difficult to earn back. She is deceptive and plotting in her darker moments. In her lighter moments... well, all we've really seen of that is her no-personality "<3 Fox" persona seen in Assault, so not really sure.

Not much more to be said, but I guess this topic is what "Your" disposition is toward her, so I guess I'll post my thoughts too, since it's asking so nicely.

Krystal is about as stupid as any character in any action flick. That's pretty stupid. But it doesn't matter, because everyone else in the world is stupid too

So I guess you're pretty stupid.

Anyway, I like Krystal because she's very pretty and adds interesting ideas for how to develop the story of Star Fox. I agree with everyone else who's said that she needs a much bigger personality and to be explored much more in the future of the series.
