Shinigami
TV Tropes Now, I don't run this site--won't deny that--but I feel it has to be mentioned. there's a lot of stuff on there that qualifies as an awesome read; not to mention you may even laugh your ass off at a few things too--totally worth checking out. Sabre
It's a fun site if you are into film and tv. Like many things there are things I don't like about it. My 2 major complaints is that it's America centric, and the way it makes up it's own jargon for no reason. A third thing that results from those 2 is fans of the site who quote the site as gospel, and if it isn't on TV Tropes it never happened. Allow me to give 2 examples. Giant Space Flea From Nowhere- I've heard it called Giant Space Beetle/Alien/Boss from nowhere, but never space flea, and how many of said bosses are fleas? None that I can recall. Why change the name just for your own site? There are others but that is a good example. The second example is commonly known in the UK (and I assume the rest of europe) is the Stars and Stripes Bandage. This is where an American hero (usually in WW2) will get shot, but they bind the wound with a bit of cloth, usually the american flag, and continue fighting. Alot of Americans don't like this being pointed out and mocked and use the lack of a TV Tropes page as evidence that it never happens. On a related note, if anyone else knows of this cliche be sure to mention so. EDIT: Their page on werewolves is spectacular.

I don't know how many hours I've wasted there, but I'm pretty sure its a high number.
Nope.
It's cool to know that, here, I'm not the only one who wastes hours reading stuff on that site.

If its American-centric, that simply means most of its visitors are America. Durrrh. If you want that Stars-and-Stipes bandage article so bad, go propose it, though the criteria seems to fall somewhere between "America Wins the War" and "Eagleland" anyway. And the Space Flea is a euphemism for the utter random nature of said bosses. You're thinking too hard about this, man. I will say that "Gospel Tropers" are annoying. If its not on TVtropes, that simply means no one's brought it up yet. There's a trope I'm fond of that I haven't seen on there yet which I call the "Miyazaki Hag", which I should just get off my ass and suggest myself already but haven't yet. Anyway, I love TVTropes. Its a great informal way to get introduced and familiarized with cliches and tropes that are often used, as well as how they're made fun of and played around with. TheRedFox8
I am glad to see that I am not the only one who wastes countless hours on it. I love the trope listings for popular series and the comments made with them. This is also the exact reason why I HATE TV tropes! XD
Sabre
I suggest to create a British verison or something. I don't know. Are you suggesting I create an etire, almost identical wiki just for a the sake of a dozen or so entries? A few more none America entries are all I'm asking for, a bit more entires like Eagleland. It just seems weird that a site that jokingly stabs at various cliches would have some glairingly obvious missing entries.

Interesting..XD Some of the funnier reads are on the "Oh Crap" page, though. especially because a majority of them makes sense.
