Sluggsnipa
What if...Microsoft or Bungie/Activision purchased the rights to make...Barrel Drum Roll...Remakes of SF:Ad and/or SF:As? It's unlikely that Bungie would do it though... but, Microsoft purchased Rare, and they could make a deal with Namco, they could probally do it. (Although I know,at one point it's gonna get Ugly with Microsoft/Nintendo relations) So,let's say they did.And they announced it at E3,or PAX,or Comic Con... How would you think we would react? More importantly, how would Microsoft fanboys react? Will it be like Lost Planet? Will it keep it's Rail Shooter roots? WTF? In my opinion,it would be either FPS or TPS,and without a doubt, they would have to include a Rail Shooter part. And they would screw with the story. So,what will happen? Will SF get the praise it deserves,or will it end up in Goodwill stores across the country? Update:What if Microsoft and/or Bungie purchased the rights to StarFox? CrypticQuery
I doubt that would happen; Nintendo still owns the rights to the Star Fox series, and Rare does not (at least as far as I know )
LoneWolf
If Bungie/Activision did it, I would be thorughly suprised. Bungie probably wouldn't screw with the formula and go on what they had. If I had to choose a dev studio to do remakes of SF:AV or SF:A I'd probably choose VALVe or Naughty Dog.

What features would you think wold be added?
LoneWolf
I meant go on with what they had as in improving existing elements of it, probably not adding anything new.

I thought Naughty Dog was purchased by Sony? (BTW, good choice on Valve! ) There's no way that Microsoft will get the rights to Starfox, even if they paid Nintendo alot of money. I could see the next Starfox game being made by Team Ninja considering that Metroid: Other M was a pretty good title...or at least a decent title. Plus the fact that Nintendo gave a green light to Team Ninja to give Samus a cameo AND a stage for Dead or Alive: Dimensions...if only Tecmo didn't get their hands on Team Ninja... :(
Sluggsnipa
What do you think the gameplay would be like?
sjrathbun812
This probably would never happen. But if it did, I'm not sure I'd really like it. SF adventures was a decent game, but I kinda want original stuff now.

Probably rebooting the whole "Fly in Arwings, Drive in Landmasters and sometimes Blue Marine but NO ON-FOOT levels." formula that was used in Starfox 64. The graphics of the game would be quiet intense like SF643DS, not sure about the voice actors and possibly make Krystal a minor character.
ZM Anonymous
No way will this ever happen. Despite Starfox not being a big Nintendo hit for a few years, they would never sell the rights to rival companies. But then again, this is a "what if..." thread, so I will give my insight. If Bungie got the rights, It would be Halo with animals If Activision got the right, It would be COD with animals Namco and Rare have already screwed this up before To the untrained SF fan, the opening cinematic would be over-the-top epic. but true fans would be skeptical at first. Since this is Starfox, I don't necessarily want the game to be an FPS because it will feel like everything else and that's just no fun. TPS wouldn't be a bad idea. (especially over the shoulder camera like Gears or RE5) Rail Shooter roots is definitely a must. And as for the story, it got effed up when Assault came along. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now if I had my way, I wouldn't have a SF:AD or SF:AS remake. I would want a game created by RetroGames (devs of DKC Returns that adopted some stuff from the unreleased SF2 like the RTSy map that was active with every selection you made. DZComposer
1. It wouldn't happen. Nintendo wouldn't sell, and I highly doubt MS would ask. Rare was an independent company. Nintendo sold-off their stake, but they weren't the primary owner nor the majority stakeholder. If memory serves, Rare's majority stakeholder sold to MS first. Nintendo had little choice, but given that Rare had aldready started going downhill, nothing of value was lost to Nintendo. Anything Rare owned, they kept. Nintendo would not sell their franchises to competitors. That isn't smart business. 2. I don't like the implication that Nintendo doesn't know how to make good games. Nintendo can create a great Star Fox game. They have done it before. I also sense an implication that you are thinking of a Halo clone Star Fox game. Star Fox doesn't need that. Sluggsnipa
Hell,DZ I don't want a Halo clone,I already have too much of that. I'm also fully aware that this will NEVER happen,I'm just asking your opinion of it IF it did happen.
Guest Mr. Nintendo
Let's just see what happens when SF64 3DS is out...maybe later on after it's release, Miyamoto or whoever comes up with the Starfox ideas will come up with one and then announce to us...maybe at this year's E3 or TGS. (Trust me, I'd rather be at TGS than E3.)

ballisticwaffles
Im going on a limb and saying, what if the creators of GOD OF WAR put there spin on the ffranchise? DoctorAllosaurus
I wouldn't want Activision's version of Star Fox, it would be as soulless and bland as all of their other games. I've said it before a few years ago and I'll say it again, Treasure (The people who made Gunstar Heroes, Sin & Punishment, Ikaruga) would make an awesome Star Fox game. Mxsoldado
If the Star Fox series was Sold to Microsoft I'll be really mad at Nintendo and I would no longer be a Star Fox fan. If Microsof decides to hire a videogame company to the game they'll probably ruin the game. The game may look pretty, but the game would suck. El Zorro de la Estrella
Honestly, I've ACTUALLY THOUGHT ABOUT THIS!!! :D (I feel special ) Well, here we go, on a mark's views on SF on XB (X3) I think it'd friggin' sweet to get a Star Fox game on 360! IMO, it should be like a prequel to Adventures and like retcon parts of it. Also, it should be about Krystal. And the follow-up would be a re-done Adventures. OKAY! Follow me down this long, winding trail: It'd be like how Resident Evil 2 & 3 are intertwined. The first game would involve Krystal's younger life on her homeplanet shortly before it gets destroyed, following into a portion where she tries to save the planet and it's inhabitants. This would entail fighting a bunch of enemies and like destroying some like energy generators that are draining the planet of it's lifeforce. After you destroy enough she would get like a distress call telepathically from her family. Upon arriving, they'd be safe and then a cutscene occurs where everyone talks a bit, then the family somehow incapacitates her and sends her off in a rocket to a safer planet. However, before she totally blacks out she sees Andross and then a bright flash, and then darkness. Flashforward a couple years with a cutscene explaining what went down in the intervening years (Samus-like, I guess is the best way to quickly describe it). Now she gets the distress call from Sauria and the player takes over. Only this time, she does a lot of stuff before being caught. Another flashforward, with the only cutscene being Fox rescuing her (Most likely through a POV shot) and he rest of the game is spent teaming up. Okay, then the next game is a redone Adventures, and it starts with Fox doing a much-simplified version of Venom. Upon completion the player discovers it was only a VR training sim. We get a cutscene of Fox and crew talking about how they haven't had like any work since Andross fell, when Pepper calls with the Sauria mission. This then leads to a basic training sim for 3rd person controls, led by Peppy (Cuz he's awesome). From here, we get a scene with the Great Fox closing in on Sauria, only to encounter an enemy barricade. Fox leaps in the Arwing, and it's rail-shooter time! Finish this level off with like a Star Destoyer-type boss. From here we play through Adventures, albeit modified (And I dunno like what, I'm not THAT far-thinking ). At the half-way point or so, Fox saves Krystal and it becomes a team adventure, BUT different from Krystal Adventures (or whatev ya wanna call it ) so it's not just a rehash. Finish in a way that can lead to sequels and actually makes the relationship between Fox and Krystal, er, existant. It works for the better of the series cuz: A. Krystal actually gets character and Backstory B. It improves upon a game that was (Somewhat) controversial C. It adds more story and character et al to the series D. It uses simple ideas and concepts, so the argument that the writers can mess it up is mitigated (At least a bit ) Anywho, that took forever and I get the feeling Imma get heck for it but eh, these are my ideas (Patent Pending!)
