Guest Mr. Nintendo
While I am a huge fan of the Left 4 Dead games, I decided to watch a few online matches and some character modding on Youtube when I stumbled into this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZjL8_E7ifk&feature=related From the looks of it, it appeared to be a trailer for a L4D movie! Or...to be exact a fan-movie as it says in the disclaimer. Below is the movie's offical website: http://left4deadmovie.us.splinder.com/ Is it really possible that we could get a L4D movie soon or not? If it's out, do you think it will be a good movie based on a video game or will it FAIL?
Sabre
Historicly, films based on games have been crap. The only one that was a half decent film was Spirits within which had nothing to do with the games except the name. The later Resident Evil (which I haven't seen) are apparently ok, but again, nothing to do with the games except a couple of references. Resident Evil degeneration was ok, and followed the games fairly well. If there is to be a L4D movie, it would have to be CG imo. However, chances are it would fall into the zombie movie trap of being about evil humans rather then the undead.

Nope.
I don't want to sound pessimistic, but everytime a group of fans decide to make a fanfilm, they rarely succed.

Xortberg
What about Beyond Black Mesa? SUCESS There's also the Megaman movie, which turned out pretty well. Still, most of them never pan out/suck major ass. There are only a few notable exceptions in a sea of attempts.

Xortberg
I remember that movie! I thought it was pretty good. Yeah, some of the acting was kind of wonky, but otherwise it was a nice watch with awesome music. That's why I'm gonna wait to pass judgment on this L4D movie until it either pans out into something solid or just dies.
Sabre
Wasn't there a metal gear fan film that was apparently awesome?
DoctorAllosaurus
Wasn't there a metal gear fan film that was apparently awesome? Project: Snake - Low Budget Espionage? Thats the only Metal Gear film I can think of... I haven't seen it myself, but if its anything like River City Rumble, I'll have to check it out.
