CrypticQuery
Battlefield 3, or at least what we know of it right now, is shaping up to be quite the sequel! A gameplay teaser hit the net earlier and it's looking incredible. DICE is holding a reveal on March 1st I believe. Share your thoughts -Personally, I can't wait for the next installment; I've been mostly burned out of Call of Duty since 4, and Killzone 2 is capturing my attention at the moment. The new animation system and frostbite 3 in BF3 looks quite promising however :D

ballisticwaffles
Modern fps's are made to put as many shocking moments in front of you as it can. Battlefield is no exception. I cherish BAttlefield 1942 as a simpler time for games. Where the game wasnt rated for how many times you went. OMGEXPLOSIONSSWEARINGCHARACTERDEATH. BAttlefield 1942 was fun with out such moments. So, as a general rule, i do not spoil the franchise for myself by playing the newer flashy ones. Im being nostalgic. I dotn want to spoil the awesome that was 1942. I think we're only paying attention to the current iterations of Call of Duty Bad Company 2 did have some cinematic set-pieces, but none of which felt overdone or blown out of proportion; I still say to give the newer games a chance I feel the same about Call of Duty though; Big Red One was incredible, you actually felt for the characters and story, but everything after CoD4: Modern Warfare is just an explosion/testosterone fest I loved Battlefield 2, and if they can make Battlefield 3 even better then BF2 then I am sold. ^-^ Agreed :D
Robert Monroe
I played Battlefield 2, but then lost my CD Key. I also played Battlefield 2142, but my computer's gotten too worn out to handle it anymore.

Sabre
I'm still amazed this thing has a story based SP campaign. I'm not a fan of the trailers they put out. Flashing half second clips on the screen makes it seem like they are embarressed by it.
Icy
It looks nothing less than INCREDIBLE . I really can't wait for this one It looks nothing less than an M rating. Judging by the dialogue I read in Game Informer, gonna be M just for that. If it's a true sequel to BF2, it should have all the same stuff, which it will have, but it should be rated TEEN so the people who enjoy BF2 can upgrade. And yeah, Battlefield 2, in my opinion, is the most well made FPS ever. The weapon system is brilliantly designed, the aiming systems are perfect, and everything is just so awesome. Not to mention the vehicles! Whoever thought that up was genius. Battlefield 3, I hope, will improve on that (if that's possible) and it should be able to top BF2 in every way if they do it right. Anyway, my unhappy reaction to a likely M rating will vanish when it releases. I'll get it no matter what. x3

That will be the day. in all serious, the military aspect itself would be justifiable enough to give it an M rating. If any military shooter had a T rating, the game would probably suck. You probably want this because you are most likely underage. Honestly, I think the dialogue won't be the only reason. I'm kinda glad it's rated M. It makes me think it can be taken seriously. Sabre
New "gameplay" trailer. Animations and sound are nice, to nice. If the game can pull this off, awesome, but I find it hard to believe.

CrypticQuery
another trailer out. http://www.giantbomb...ootage/17-3909/ Here's that same trailer on Youtube in case anyone wants an embedded version Everything is looking incredible, especially for a pre-alpha stage . Hopefully the specs aren't going to implode the majority of gaming PCs/consoles though ^_^
Icy
Wow…that last part makes me want to see more soooo bad. @ZM: Battlefield 2 was T, and it was taken very seriously, for a time. Call of Duty up to MW1, they were all taken seriously and all Teen. I don't care if it gets an M rating anyway, I was just stating my disappointment. Then I realized it was Battlefield 3. That blows away any doubts of playing it if it's M. It's BATTLEFIELD 3.
