Is Star Fox dead?

Then add TONS of more enemies! So many that you can't see the background past them as they come at you!!

So, turn the game into 'spam this button' even more than it is? Nty, the amount of button spamming in SF64 was near perfect.

Then put in more missions like the part of the Space Armada level in the original Star Fox; Fly inside an enemy battleship and blow out it's core.

Wait, why? What does this solve?

Makes the gameplay more intense and exciting. Also, bring back the option of flying in first-person view like in Star Fox and Star Fox 64.

I highly doubt Nintendo would abandon Star Fox, it has a lot of potential.

Also, considering the continuing popularity and nostalgia for Star Fox and Star Fox 64 is too much to ignore.

Nope.avi

You mind giving a fuller explanation on your stance besides "Nope.avi"?

Sure.

1. StarFox is a rail shooter, not a bullet hell (although a 3D bullet hell would be interesting to see)

2. scoring would just involve spamming charge shots indescriminately around the screen.

3. All Range Mode would be one heck of a clusterfuck of metal and thrusters.

Enemy spam is bad design.

Then what about on-rail co-op?

Then let her be a pin-up girl for the team. Have her fly around and cry for help like the other teammates do.

This. :P

Wouldn't you be constantly fighting for room and knocking into your co-op buddy?

Not if done right. It'd be entirely possible to make more than one "rail" for people to go on, so that there's the feeling of a flank attack or something similar. Even in one-player, choosing a route before the level starts could be an interesting new way of playing the game and adding replay value.

Even if both players are on the same "rail," though, the programmers could simply make it so that there's no friendly fire or player collisions. They'd have to mess with the "boost" and "brake" controls, but that's not a huge deal.

I think co-op would work best if the players controlled some kind of Super Arwing together while on rails. During all-range mode, the "Super Arwing" will split into two seperate ships. Just a thought..,

It's in a coma.

Yes....The series is in a coma...and we, the players and fans.....are its life support.

Hey man don't say that.

Star Fox is not dead. Nintendo has just lack on keeping up with the series so they hire other companies to make the games, but one of the companies that they hired did not do very good game (Namco).

But they bounced back with command because they hired a company (Q Games) that had a director who had worked on Star fox and Star Fox 2 which knew how to make the game right.

There is game designers who want to make a Star Fox game so I really dought that Nintendo will terminate the Star Fox series. They just to hire the right one

You guys are a bunch of damn Chicken Littles.

I mean, look at yourselves. There is a SF game coming out this year, and you guys are questioning if Star Fox is dead? Yeah, it's a port/remake, but it is Nintendo interest in the franchise nonetheless.
