Sabre
I won't confuse you with the backstory for this one. Simple question really. In your opinion, what is the maximum acceptable age difference between a couple?
Xortberg
Depends on the relative ages in my opinion, as well as the mental maturity of the people in question. The only thing age really affects as far as making a relationship acceptable is mental maturity. If, by some strange chance, a 5 year old was developed enough to decide that s/he wanted to date a 40 year old, I'd be pretty creeped out, but I'd accept it. Problem is, that'll pretty much never, ever happen, and lots of the people my age aren't mature enough to be in relationships with someone of any age. So, to condense into tl;dr format, age doesn't mean dick to me. Maturity is all that really matters, though maturity generally does come with age. IE 30yr old. can date someone from the age of 18 on 34yr old 20 on 20 13? NEIN it is not greater than 18 Hey, lemme try... 15 years old can date someone 12.5 years old. But cannot because that person is not greater than eighteen. 90 years old can date someone 50 years old. Awesome! Works for me! No more teen dating, but let's do all the gold digging we can! And that, my friends, is why even formulas are a little bit silly. It's even worse when you start assigning arbitrary numbers, as various state governments have done. :

"User"
well we are considering the 90 year old can still see right? lol That would be preferred. But of course, physical impairments should have no bearing at all. :)

Matrilwood
Once you hit 25+ it really doesn't matter. Until you reach 50, at which point you should have already settled down and have a family. If you don't, you've done something seriously wrong.
Drasiana
Depends on maturity, but if you're between 13-18 the gap should probably not be any more than 3 years, based on how rapidly people change and mature in that timeframe. By the time you're a legal, consenting adult, do whatever the hell you want. If it works out, it works, and if it doesn't, it doesn't. You can't speak for everyone and say "you're 20! You can't date a 27 year old because that's old!" Once you hit 25+ it really doesn't matter. Until you reach 50, at which point you should have already settled down and have a family. If you don't, you've done something seriously wrong. omnom delicious ignorance If someone chooses not to "settle down" and pop out babies nonstop then that's their choice, people aren't useless just because they aren't reproducing. Redeemer
Now, I have no issue with age difference. There's a 25 year gap between my parents, so... I can't really say much there. Although sometimes I feel that if they were around the same age, they would understand each other more and argue less. Personally, I'm 22 now, and would date the age range of 20-28, but this will surely change as I get older. And Matrilwood, this topic was pretty old when you posted... Keep an eye out for that in the future, okay?
