Star Fox Runner
As some of you should know, the Game Developers Conference is going on right now, and Satoru Iwata's keynote is tomorrow. But I noticed that Apple has a press event for the iPad 2 going on as well....... right across the street...... at the same time as Iwata's Keynote. http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2011/03/apple-nintendo-gdc-ipad-3ds/ Even though the two products seem unrelated here, you gotta read between the lines. I think Apple sees the 3DS as a threat to them. I am a buyer of Apple products, but I would pick the 3DS over an iPad2. And that's exactly what I think Apple is afraid of. Any thoughts? Scott7
it's sort of a 'meh' thing to me at the moment Really, i don't have much interest in apple products, excluding the iphone which i head can access skype and the internet on the go pretty well. Fang O'Donnell
I actually can't say I fully agree with you on this one, however, I do see your point on how the 3DS has the iPad beat, in gaming. but, the iPad has much more available to it and it's consumers than the 3DS does such as at-work convenience, loads of apps for almost anything, and not to mention customers that would take it over the 3DS because they don't play video games. I personally think that the iPad PR people knew alot of people were going to show for the 3DS tomorrow and they thought they'd just swoop in and steal some of Nintendo's audience. Fureox
Doesn't seem to me that these products are that similar. Why should Apple be afraid? The two products appeal to the people in different ways. 3DS is for gaming while the Ipad is for, well, I'm not entirely sure since I think it to be a waste. You could just buy a Laptop with that money. The point is that it's too different from the 3DS for it to be a threat.
Guest Mr. Nintendo
Hmm, can't say for sure but yeah, their products are unrelated to each other so I don't see why Apple would be afraid of the 3DS...
sjrathbun812
I don't think the 3DS is a threat. The Ipad does what it does, but it doesn't really center around gaming. People buy it for different reasons. I mean, people who want a phone don't get it to play silly little games. those are just gimmicks. If they wanted that then the could just get something that revolves around games. Like the 3DS. So I don't think Apple thinks Nintendo is a threat. And, personally, I think the Ipad is dumb. Get a computer instead. But That's just me.

Dublinthefox
Since I'm an Apple user this seems kind of interesting. I haven't had this hard of a time choosing since that time I pre-ordered my 3DS and had to choose which color. As some of you should know, the Game Developers Conference is going on right now, and Satoru Iwata's keynote is tomorrow. Where have I heard that name before?.....Is that the guy who made Mother? Matrilwood
Apple and Nintendo are multiverses apart [exaggeration]. There could never be competition between the 2, ever.
Sabre
Apple and Nintendo are multiverses apart [exaggeration]. There could never be competition between the 2, ever. Not really. MS and Sony both are major threats, from a software company and a electronics manufacturer. Given how popular the thing is, and some of the exclusive games for it are apparently pretty good (Game Dev Story is apparently a classic, and I'm a fan of the id RPGs on phones and DS) iStuff is so far away from laptops and phones that it wouldn't be far fetched for them to release the iGamer or something like that. Deploy
I like Apple, heck, I use a MacBook Pro and love it. But Nintendo blows any other company that has ever existed and ever will out of the water! NINTENDO FTW!!! :)
