Star Fox Runner
I just read on Valve's Left 4 Dead blog that they are releasing a new DLC for Left 4 Dead 2 that will contain a new campaign called "Cold Stream". (Which is actually a community developed map mind you) And along with the new campaign, the remaining campaigns from Left 4 Dead 1 will also be added. http://www.l4d.com/blog/post.php?id=5019 As excited as I am to finally be able to use melee weapons and fight the L4D2 special infected in those campaigns, I'm worried about what this will do to the original Left 4 Dead. Seeing how The Sacrifice and No Mercy have already been ported to L4D2, and with the remaining campaigns on the way, (Crash Course, Death Toll, Dead Air, and Blood Harvest) this will effectively make Left 4 Dead a useless buy, which is exactly what the fans who condemned the release of Left 4 Dead 2 said would happen. Pretty much the only thing that would keep the original game alive would be the community developed maps, and those could be easily ported to Left 4 Dead 2 by the fans. So it pretty much looks like we can say goodbye to the original Left 4 Dead. Opinions?

Sabre
The original campaigns were fan ported a while ago. They were a bit broken though.
Robert Monroe
Personally, I don't mind, and I own both L4D and L4D2. L4D2 is much better balanced anyway.
