Project 64 1.7

Fire Yoshi

Recommended Posts

I recently downloaded this emulator, but it's giving me problems. Every time I try to play a ROM, it says "Cannot open ROM because plugins have not successfully initialised." Then it says "Plugin Initialising" on the bottom left corner of the emulator's face, which doesn't go away. I left it go for an hour, it still wouldn't initialise. Does anybody know the solution, if there is any?

just fyi, SFO doesn't support roms or emulators, so this thread is probably gonna get locked. just go to a game store and buy the game  (N64s are only 20ish bucks and the games are usually 10 or less)

Not always an option, and even so, hardware is usually worn to the bone at this point.

As for the issue. What plug in you using, and what game you trying to play, and on what system (a PC with a graphics card or laptop) also, have you tried mupen?

btw, is your new icon done by that live-to-tell guy?

See if you can find version 1.6. You can play it straight after installation with usually no problems. I had to do that when I couldn't figure out 1.7.

Don't forget our ROM policy. If you don't own a physical copy, don't talk about it.

well there's always ebay and I've never had a problem with hardware worn to the bone.

I wasn't aware this was the policy, I thought it was just that we couldn't talk about them at all... But since this isn't the case, if you have a copy of Star Fox 64 and want to try it motion sensored, check out my project arwiing link in my sig

As for hardware, I'm the opposate. Other then one controller that went unopened for a long time, all my controllers have a huge dead zone. Not only that, but hooking the machine up to a mordern TV is a pain, and the picture quality, for whatever reason, is horrible.

I know of this policy, but I only thought it was against posting them up for use here, or things like that. I didn't think simply TALKING about them was against the rules. :/

I smell extreme paranoia in the staff, no offense...

Given how easily they are offended, it's not worth trying to tip toe around. Some will get upset if you don't acknowlage their off topic post, or even don't agree with them.

As for the icon, I meant this guy.

Same/similar art style.

Well, if I did do wrong, I apologize.

Not a problem, it happens from time to time.

To clarify: discussion of emulation itself is not banned here, just discussion of pirated commercial games.

Also, to those of you calling me overly paranoid, if you aren't in a strong financial situation you don't want to put yourself in a situation where you would end up getting sued. Quite simply, I cannot afford to defend against a copyright lawsuit. Call me paranoid if you want, but do think to put yourself in my shoes. I'm a poor college student. I spend a significant portion of my income on this place as is. A lawsuit would devastate my finances.
