ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
I have mixed feelings about this announcement. Is pronography wrong? Is it really a sleazy, dehumanizing business like the tobacco industry?
"User"
The porn industry is completely against this idea. The last thing they want is for stuff like this to "ghettoize" their sites and they fear the government might try and mandate them to register their sites under the new domain. Religious groups are also opposed to the idea. The .xxx domain would also cost like...$60-70 as opposed to regular domains that cost under $10. Really...who benefits from this other than to make it easier for parents to block harmful content to their children (assuming all the porn sites end up being required to use the .xxx domain? fox1235
Still wondering why the staff deleted the mature board.
"User"
Still wondering why the staff deleted the mature board. Because it wasn't being used enough. By the way, I set up a staff poll a while back so we could vote for it's reinstatement. The vast majority of the staff wanted it back but it has yet to be reimplemented. :(
Sabre
I see no issue with this as it wont be mandatory. For example, .tv is actually for the country of Tuvalu. TV companies still use it. This also brings up the age old paypal/internet police/adult != sex idea. In short, adult doesn't have to be sex. 2 points on the xxx thing. 1- What will happen to that Vin Desiel film? 2- Is it me, or is xxx actually quite sweet when you think about it? I'm not big on porn due to it all being horrid and depressing with titles like "Breaking them in 3" but xxx is normally used for 3 kisses on cards which is quite sweet and gentle. Matrilwood
You know they only did it to make it easier to censor porn sights. [cynical]
