You know, I'm not sure. I never really payed much attention to the songs.

Same.

But Be Prepaired from the lion king is pretty bad arse. (also, 2 different voice actors playing scar in that song) there were other good songs, I can't remember them though.

I'm trying to rememeber if Toy Story is part of Disney. If that is the case "You've got a friend in me" would be the song stuck in my head.

If you loved Disney as a kid, it is ageless and timeless. If someone becomes older and all of a sudden says they hate Disney 'cause it's for "little kids only", they are most likely lying to look cool.

fff. That tends to be the truth most of the time, doesn't it? As for me? I don't lie like that. Someone asks if I like their films? I say "Hell yeah. Disney's awesome."

Wow, all 1980s and newer... Time for some Old-School: 1942: April Showers from Bambi.

Frank Churchill did a masterful job on this piece. Fucking genius use of the human voice, particularly in the Storm part. It may not have the "catchiness" of modern Disney songs, but this is a film score masterpiece.

If only I could find a re-recording of the movie version. Mic technology of the 1940s is terrible by today's standards. Sadly, all of the modern recordings of this song I have found are reduction arrangements that strip out the very things that made the piece genius in the first place. :(

Disney just re-released Bambi. I should check and see if the re-recorded the score. I know they at least let an audio engineer work with it. I may buy the Blu-Ray just for a better-quality this piece. EDIT: Hmm... OST Re-Release... But no score re-record. :(

erm, that's because that's when disney got their musical stuff. I was never a fan of musicals as a kid. I prefer the post 2000 stuff like Atlantis. Anyway, the 'classic' disney musical was only 80s and 90s. The fad was pretty much confirmed dead when toy story came out.

Btw, songs and musicals are different, but whereas stuff like Bambi and Toy Story have songs, they are not sung by the characters, they are fewer in number and there is no real focus on it. There was a recent attempt to revive the style with tangled, but it's to soon to say if it has brought back the disney musical. I hope not.
