What are "real gamers"? Most gamers don't care about what operating system the computer they're using runs. Unless of course they're basement dwellers. Also, Nova's post had 0% to do with my previous post. I was giving DZComposer a very good suggestion on an alternate browser. Since GNU Icecat can only run on GNU/Linux or Mac OS X he must install one of the two, preferably GNU/Linux since it respects the user's freedom. What server OS's and what real gamers use has nothing to do with this discussion on Firefox.

I would love to permanently switch to Linux (Fedora, though, not Gentoo). Problem is, I use too much software that has no good equivalents on Linux yet.

If you want to in this conversation about how gamers don't use Linux than by all means please do. That being said if we go through that line of discussion I was referring more actually to which categories of "OS's" are best for what purposes. Regardless, this line of reasoning really doesn't challenge or change the position that Linux does not = gamer's preference.

Maybe I don't want to look like a hacker. Maybe I don't find rolling my own kernel binaries to be worth my time. Maybe 1.7% performance differences are negligible to me. If you enjoy that, more power to you, but I have other things I'd rather do with my time.
