Many people's stories would work so much better as a standalone, original work because then their ideas are a story. In an already existing canon, the same story turns into "bastardization." It's canon is all over the place and it's non-serious nature makes it hard to write a good, serious fic on. I've always found Star Fox works to be quite serious and good. And besides, as long as you have a foundation, you can write a godd story, even if the foundations are terrible, you can improve them. The only problem i find is that the stories with potential are never finished. Adventures screwed a WHOLE lot of things up, and Assault and Command didn't meet expectations in gameplay or story. The mythos is broken and what's canon and not is thrown into question, and fanfiction doesn't do a good job of fixing it because it's not actually fixing it, it's just presenting an idea be it good or bad that tries to make sense of things and in the end falls short of what it's supposed to achieve. (I enjoy giving people appearances in my sotries, fun) Star Fox wasnt really a big story until the later games came along, Lylat Wars was so simple, but then they made it complicated, hmm, they expanded it, but it brought problems, hmm maybe Star Fox wasnt meant to be expanded. and Command was just a wreck. But when i made an oath, if i start to write it, i must finish it. (this can be circumvented by simply writing the ending) whatever i have to finish the story now. Steve Posted April 11, 2011 Share Posted April 11, 2011 Seriously, instead of bragging, bloating about super hyper well done, well written story(ies), you SHOULD go ahead and keep working on whatever you are going to show us, and actually SHOW something, you know, a chapter, half a chapter, whatever, not cryptic things; THEN if people go "yay, it's good" you can brag. Advertising your story is one thing, but pushing it to the point of being a pain in the butt, is seriously not cool. Also going "I shall put you in my story |D" is rude if you don't ask first. Aside that, I agree with Milky, but this is not the place to discuss why some games should be remade, or why they sucked/succeed, etc. Use the designated sub-forum for that. He's a flirty assassin reminiscent of Zorro and oozes exactly the sort of over the top character Starfox likes having. I will never understand why people hate him, because there's no reason other than "He's new" or "He hit on Krystal." Get the hell over it. Adventures wrecked things by introducing magic. Star Fox is science fiction, there's a mad scientist on the loose with his army of people in manufactured space ship using weapons like bombs and lasers to shoot said ships down. The "worst" things got was Andross's body and telekinesis, which is what made him feel threatening and genius. Adventures just totally strips that away with a magic staff that doesn't belong, a planet filled with unexplained magitech that doesn't belong, and Krystal being allegedly from a magic tribal race, which also doesn't belong considering that that rest of the galaxy is more advanced and civilized. But, if you are gonna halt production, that's your choice. But I say, why not write the first 2 chapters and post 'em up? Then The Awesomeness will be revealed and the People wil be clamoring for more! You overreacted about how awesome it was and bugging people about it's amazingness, then they, in turn, overreacted on their opinions about it.
