Drasiana
I actually liked that scene but like...it was like they smushed a few good feature film-esque scenes into a mediocre mid-season episode. It was weeeeird.

WOLFjr
As much as I loved the season finale, I will admit that, just like everyone else says, it was rushed. It would've been better if it were a two or three part episode. But considering that this season was only allowed half the usual number of episodes for some reason, I think they did great with the limitations they had. Looking forward to season 4 to see how the whole princess thing works out for Twilight. I can see an episode where Twilight struggles with the political duties of being a princess. However, I will not be looking forward to that spin-off show, Equestrian Girls. I really hope that's just nothing more than a sick joke by Hasbro. Now I'm not telling you what to like and not like But that's the same sort of thinking that a lot of people had about FiM to begin with. You might want to give it a chance and see if it's good before deciding you don't like it. Just saying.

My love for FiM has already been scarred from the image I just saw of what the characters will look like. Not to mention the (possible) setting from the image. Drasiana
My problem with Equestrian Girls is that it's a really bizarre premise. The MLP cast become human and go to high school despite being adults and basically...do the same thing they do in the regular show? Why not just make an entirely new high school-based show? The MLP cast become human and go to high school despite being adults and basically...do the same thing they do in the regular show? Why not just make an entirely new high school-based show? My guess is that Hasbro is going through a FOX kind of faze. They saw MLP:FiM is their biggest money maker. So instead of risking losing money on a brand new, totally original high school show, they decide to use the popularity of FiM to draw in a big crowd from the start. Drasiana
Oh, it makes sense from a financial point of view...sort of. Just not in any other sort of sense. The character models look so incredibly lazy though I can't imagine them putting much more effort into the rest of the show.

The character models, as well as the concept of the show, is just ridiculous. For some reason, it just feels like they're trying to do a girl version of Invader Zim here. That's just how I feel though.
Cage Blackpaw
Yeah, when I first heard about Equestria Girls, my thoughts turned to the Nostalgia Critic (and his infamous "no"). But even though I'm still not thrilled, I'm going to watch the first few episodes just to make sure. (Though I actually thought I would like MLP before I started watching it... )

(Though I actually thought I would like MLP before I started watching it... ) If there's anything that the Nostalgia Critic's "NO" rant can be used on, it's Equestria Girls. Though I think a better Nostalgia Critic moment would be his fast-forward outburst from Battlefield Earth. May he rest in peace. Back on topic, I may give Equestria Girls a watch, depending on if I'm willing to be mentally scarred even more. Again, just looking at it wiki page for it has scarred me. Dr. Orange
Equestria Girls. I'm goigng with Wolf here on why Hasbro is doing this. I have no clue on whether I'm going to touch this at all just because it's a insane idea. Not because it's looks to be more of a young girls thing, which MLP taught me not to judge, but more because it's a hell lot more close to a fanboy's fanfic than an original creative idea. On top of that, the character designs keep their skin the same colors from MLP. When one makes a High School theme show with humans, it's important to not that humans ain't fucking blue or a light purple. But hey ... hey. I'm still open to new ideas. I mean it could be interesting if they Incorporated other ponies into this show. I wondered how Vinyl or Derpy would look if they were human sometimes. But for the sake of the story behind this show, Celestia and Luna, how would they fit in? Teachers? And would they all have their own houses or would they live with their parents? I have so many questions on how the characters live and still have the elements that made MLP what it is.
Vy'drach
Y'know, folks aren't giving this Twilicorn thing a enough of a chance. Granted it wasn't entered in a good way, it was basically the equivalent of cannonballing into a hot tub, no time to ease into it (but egophiliac's edits to her slice of life comic has helped ease me into that), and I am disappoint a bit at the opportunity Hasbro and everyone missed to hard troll bronies (I was thinking it would of just been part of the spell that mixed everyone up mixing her up with Celestia or something, hilarity would of ensued). But still, a bad first part to a trio of episodes does not the whole premise spoil. Granted they kinda rushed the buildup and mary sue'd it, but I see a good deal of potential they can do with Twilicorn. I, for one, welcome our new pony princess. Also, I may watch Equestria Girls with the mentality of expecting a spin-off and nothing else, and may be pleasantly surprised.

I keep seeing that term! Looking around, I keep seeing it used differently. Apparently, it differs either from circle to circle and even from person to person to the point where it doesn't have any meaning and is simply used as a derogatory term! What I'm saying is:You keep using that word!

Apparently, it differs either from circle to circle and even from person to person to the point where it doesn't have any meaning and is simply used as a derogatory term! What I'm saying is:You keep using that word! This is true but a "real" Mary-Sue, if there's such a thing anymore, is a character whose existence breaks the rules of the existing universe to accommodate their powers and/or relationships with other characters. The rules of the MLP universe weren't really established regarding alicorns though I could see someone making that argument because there had been no previous indication that an alicorn is something you can become (to my knowledge). Like, Trixie isn't a Mary-Sue because she's written to fit within the universe, but Sergeant Beard McNeckbeard, the self-insert human marine with PTSD, is not, and so falls under the Mary-Sue umbrella because the universe must change to accommodate him. The biggest problem with Twilicorn is that it kind of is pulling the rules of the universe in that it may have very well completely changed the formula of the show, and quite abruptly. That's a great way to kill your fanbase even if it's done well.
Sarita
Lauren said at Equestria LA that she intended for Twilight to eventually becomes Celestia's successor, and had already laid the groundwork for it to happen. This is probably not how she intended it to be, but then again, Hasbro seems dead set on turning princesses in to alicorns (a reference to the fact that Lauren didn't intend for Cadance to be an alicorn, either. )
Drasiana
That's not so much what I mean...more the fact that what an alicorn actually is isn't really elaborated on in the show and only shown to be something that Celestia and Luna can be, and they're, y'know, all-powerful gods (and Cadence is their niece, so they're related as a species). The problem isn't Twilight becoming Celestia's successor, as that's always been in the story, having been her apprentice since day one and everything. It's more the fact that apparently an alicorn is something you can just randomly turn into if you solve the right rhyme.

I am saddened by the lack of ponies in it now, but happy that they're work isn't for naught. http://www.mane6.com/2013/03/m6v2.html
