Guest Mr. Nintendo

As long as it does not have anything to do with the 06 Sonic game, I'm may be interested in it... especially since Sonic gets a new voice actor

Why even bother with Sonic 4 now that they have this? The classic Sonic gameplay should be pretty much the same thing...

Because Sonic 4 was a good game....

I know, but like I said, more SG games would make more sense...

They can finish Sonic 4 if they want lol The teams are different anyways

Sonic Team- Sonic Generations

The Dimps- Sonic 4

Wait, I thought Sonic Team was behind 4... off to Google!

The Dimps is the main developer with Sonic Team helping out some and supervising

Thats right, Dimps did a majority of the design and programming but Sonic Team, particularly Takashi Iizuka who was level designer for Sonic 3 and Knuckles, oversaw the project. Obviously Sonic Team were there to add input as to how the game represented the Sonic Universe as a whole and give Dimps direction on how to capture the feel of the classic Sonic games.

This looks awesome though and it's definitely an act of Fan Service, which is great for anyone who loved the old Mega Drive titles. I hope it has new features though and isn't just remixed Sonic 1 stages in 3D, as I think Sonic 4's boss battles were as far as they should go for ripping off old content. The only other worry is nasty controls, Sonic Adventure on the XBLA springs to mind, but besides that this looks sweet.

Classic Sonic does look a bit on the chubby side though :P

What was so bad about SA XBLA's controls? Slightly off topic, but what happened to that Dreamcast collection we were promised a while back?

I just found Sonic Adventure a bit oversensitive when playing on the 360, doesn't stop it being an awesome game, but I often found when I was trying to dodge stuff and collect rings that a light tap of the control stick will send Sonic flying off course and into the barriers like a pinball. May be my friends slightly odd third pary controller had something to do with it, but I just found it difficult to control at times, was fine on the Dreamcast though

Anyway, now i've explained myself I don't wanna take us off topic.

I saw it at my local GameStop actually.

It's 4 games:

Sonic Adventure

Crazy Taxi

Sega Bass Fishing

Space Channel 5 Part 2

Major letdown k_e_frown.gif

Here's some gameplay. It looks promising. 2D for classic sonic and a 3D adaption for the modern sonic.

It really does look good; though all of the incredible games coming out this year are draining my wallet >.< ;

-LA Noire

-Uncharted 3

-Battlefield 3

-Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One

-Saints Row: The Third

-Sonic Generations

-Driver: San Francisco

And possibly more to come

So far Sonic Generations is looking better than Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One IMO, but we'll see! ^_^

Picks up jaw from floor...

Well I think this certainly shuts up anybody who says that Sonic games aren't fast enough anymore! Nice to see my earlier fears of a 3D version of Sonic 1 have been lain to rest, because whilst obviously what we've seen is a 3D Greeen Hill Zone, they've probably extended it by about 5 times and added gameplay that picks the best of the old school platforming as well as the 3D elements that were sucessful in Sonic Colours.

Can't wait, as long as the insane looking speed is manageable and the controls are suitably responsive, then this could be one hell of an epic Sonic game B)
