Well yeah, characters someday, will be old, but well, I belive some of them will have kids "pokes fox and krystal", but at this rate , they will never have the chance, this storyline is kinda different from what we all thought... ^_^

Now let's not jump to conclusions! We don't know the whole story yet...we barely know what's going on at all! It's too soon to say where it's going, and we surely can't foresee how it will end.

I don't know about the age thing, though...maybe they'll realize they're taking the time gaps too far and just stop saying how many years was between each game.

I'm not too happy about t time gaps, either, and prequel things after the story's already advanced isn't something I'm too fond of.

I liked the short gap between Adventures and Assault. It made sense. I don't think they'd kill the series, but...well, there just comes a time when, if you do things a certain way, your options become limited. They chose to factor in time, and that means that eventually they'll either have to go with a new Star Fox team or end it altogether. Personally, I think they'd go with a new team, possibly the kids of the old team or something, but it simply has to happen eventually.

Nintendo did well with not factoring time into Mario or Zelda. Well, okay, Zelda DOES have time in there, but they've left it open-ended enough to make a great game without moving too far ahead, to a point of where it's just a minor element. Metroid, too, has time, but it's small enough gaps so as to not be a major problem. If they'd gone in smaller gaps, I don't think it'd be much of an issue.

I don't think they'll end it here. It's too soon, and what we're seeing, as I said, is probably what we'll get in the beginning cutscene to drive us forward. After all, with a storyline, you need to give the player motivation of some sort, so I think the main "story" here'll probably be getting the team back together.

I think the fact that Miyamoto is even considering a StarFox for Wii is proof enough that the series will not yet be ended. So, as Fox said, no worries...for now, anyway XD

I can't really imagine the series ending. It's had very good games and a respectable fanbase.

It almost be like ending the Mario series and we know that will never happen.

I don't recall Adventures being unpopular...

I didn't say it was unpopular, I said the Star Fox series wasn't near as good once Star Fox Adventures waned in popularity...meaning, once Star Fox Adventues became "old", Star Fox started going down hill.

I agree, Kit, I think it's dangerous to jump to conclusions about the storyline, but at the same time, things aren't looking good for the Star Fox team...Even if this game is the last/setting up for the last...there's always prequels, such as the Star Fox team during Jame's day...

Sadly, Nintendo really can't use the gap between Star Fox 64 and Star Fox Adventures; Adventures pretty much states they did nothing during that time, and ultimately ended up near broke.

Yeah, that was a...mixed move on their part. It makes the timeframe useless, but also makes production of the actual game a bit more...understandable.

Star Fox Adventures is a 'Player's Choice' title. It must have been popular to be listed in that.

On the time issue: Zelda does in fact have a timeline. And trust me, there are huge gaps in it (some make the SFA gap look like a few days). However, Starfox can't pull it off like Zelda can, for a simple reason: Multiple Links. Multiple Zeldas. One Ganon, but he keeps getting resealed and released. Star Fox can't do that; it's like saying there was a fifty year gap between, say, Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions. Sci-Fi series don't have the same characters popping up every few years.

In other words, and what's been said many times in this topic, Nintendo's going to screw the series right up the arse with a spiked club labelled "time gaps" if they keep this up.

Hold your horses gents. We can't really speak about the story just yet as Kit said we know very little about what we're talking about. We are in a pitch black area in the story department. I say we wait for accurate English previews and THEN we can get and idea of the story and state our opinions as well as facts.

Oh and someone mentioned Fox dieing, well I'd doubt it because it's like killing off Mario and it would be too "dark" a turn for Star Fox which has always been a PG affair. I'm pretty sure that killing off the main character would turn off many fans of the series and be a bad move for Nintendo.

Let's not get too deep into story. NOA just updated their page from the game, and it implied that the story will change depending on the missions.

"Players hop into their Arwing fighter and fight through a unique branching storyline of missions..."

Yes, the Zelda team's special with their time gaps. :D

Oh, as for the Player's Choice thing...well, that Finding Nemo game also got player's choice. >< And trust me, it wasn't anything special or popular. I've no idea how it got that far...

A Game gets 'Player's Choice' when it sells certain amount of games. Finding Nemo being a popular childrens movie would attract many kids to it as a game so it would sell alot. Star Fox Assualt recently got 'Player's Choice' so now it seems that every Star Fox game has been popular to enough to win something.

Hold on now.....That's believable. We never did find out if Gen. Pepper was alright after the battle. He coulda still had the infection in him the whole time.

OK, two things.

1, Has it ever been offically stated IN THE GAMES that adventures took place 8 years after 64? Some sources have it at two years. Fox and the rest look very similar in Adventures to what they looked like in 64 (not counting improved grafics) it doesnt look like theyve aged much...except for Pepper and Peppy.

2, WHY does every one think Peppy replaced Pepper? There are many generals in most Militarys, not 1.

Slippy: "Darn Aparoids! Why'd you have to pick on the general?"

I don't know about the in-game detail. I believe Fox tells Pepper that it's been a long time right after Krystal gets captured. Anyone care to confirm this? Because...I like where that idea is headed.

Err...thats not much evidence to support there being only one general, I'm sure most soliders* refer to the general whos command they are under as 'the' general, or captine/the captine.

*atleast those in Brothers in Arms and Saving Privet Ryan :(
